Please be aware that damage of branches can easily occur if not trained properly for this technique. These are the sizes I commonly use, depending on the branch thickness. Yes, I would recommend waiting till spring. Wiring is a technique that requires learning process, I will make a video on how to. My apple trees have taken a new form in the last several years, not for maximum production, but more for my needs to create space under the canopy. For easier walking, and possibly keeping fig trees under for shading purposes. I was even debating whether to completely remove all of the trees in favor of more space for fig trees in ground or a greenhouse. I would like to see your trees, thanks.
