I dont like that the penalties offset in situations like this. One team was definitely the aggressor and the other basically didn't even defend themselves but because he did push back once it suddenly becomes offsetting... might as well jump a few people and just hope they try to defend themselves so you get the offsetting penalties.

Yeah, it is total BS. In situations like this, they should make up for it by reviewing the film and suspending players.....make them sit the first half of the next game, or the full game, or whatever punishment fits.

Fighting in football has less impact on the game than fighting in hockey, where they let guys fight. No yardage, no ejections, no one has to even sit a play out. The refs just go "whatever, first down I guess."

That logic would make sense only if the penalties were independent of one another. But because one penalty may lead to another, it doesn’t make sense to net one team or another yardage. Let’s say for example that you are offsides by a mile (5 yd penalty), but the play runs anyways for some reason and I commit pass interference to catch up to you. You don’t get the net yardage.

Bills should have got a lot more. Williams started it all by rolling over the giants player after he was down on the gound and then grabbing his leg, picking him half way up off the ground.
