In the book, this scene contains a key insight to Ayanokoji's character: _Ryuuen moved forward to kick me, aiming for the same spot he’d just hit. He closed the distance between us, and I guarded my face with my left hand. He lashed out with his right arm, and when he pulled it back, struck me again with his right knee. It was his strongest blow yet. I staggered back, feeling pain shoot through my entire body._ _“How about it? You get it now?”_ _“Unfortunately, I don’t ‘get’ anything,” I said. “This is just pain.”_ _“Are you trying to say you’re the same as me? That you don’t feel fear?”_ _“That’s not it, Ryuuen. That’s not what I’m saying.”_ _I knew all about fear born through pain. I knew the terror and misery of being a loser. I’d seen people destroyed by it before my eyes, time and time again. But eventually, I stopped feeling fear. Instead, I just felt cold, because I’d come to realize that no matter how much suffering or despair others experienced, the same would never happen to me._ _If you have the means to protect yourself, that’s all you need. If you can keep yourself safe from all harm, you win._ --- And the reason he chose to deal with Ryuen through violence and waited until he'd instilled fear in him is because he knew that was the only way to stop him. Otherwise, Ryuen _would_ keep coming after him all the time _(“What about when you’re in the middle of pissing? When you’re taking a shit? I’ll come after you when you least expect it,”)_ and eventually, he might succeed. In the future, he does succeed against a vastly stronger opponent via such trickery. --- As for Karuizwa, this is his thought process after he knocks out Ryuen and talks to her: _I wondered what would have happened if I’d showed up to save her earlier. I felt quite certain that if I’d fulfilled my promise more speedily, her dependency on me would only have grown stronger. Conversely, if I had never showed up at all, abandoning her to being bullied once more like she had in the past, it would have intensified her despair._ _By delaying my arrival and still ultimately showing up, though, I’d strengthened her belief that she could hold onto her faith in me till that last possible moment. At the same time, it had allowed me to ascertain that she wouldn’t easily betray me._ _Of course, if she had given Ryuuen my name, she would feel guilty, and I could manipulate that guilt in my favor. After getting my hands on a pawn like Karuizawa, letting her go would be a waste. How necessary she was to my plans was secondary; what mattered most was ensuring she stayed under my control._ It's a crystallization of his defensive personality. You said it yourself: Ayanokoji's in control of everything around him. That's not by accident. It's his way of protecting himself. (In contrast, Sakayanagi, who had a loving family and a safe upbringing, is aggressive and risk-taking.) People argue whether he truly cares about people or only wants to use them, but the two aren't mutually exclusive. He really does want a (not necessarily romantic) relationship with Karuizawa, as evidenced by that last sentence. But he _has_ to make sure she stays with him. The same way, he conclusively took out Ryuen to remove a threat to his control of his life. That's a theme with the whole series: he's a control freak.

Finally they got their wish fulfilled 😂

A cool feature many don't notice is how ayankoji changes fighting styles depending the opponent, Ishizaki is irrational so he focuses lock to gain control, he knows Albert hits hard and he is boxer so he moves to a more defensive kung fu/mai thuay style, ibuki its quick but relys on range so he changes the distance by dodging and blocking and only attacks when he knows there's a guaranteed hit, for ryuen he uses a more self engineered fighting style including backhands and throws against walls, In order to match ryuuens unpredictability.

I loved when he said "Hes in control of everything in his life while shes not". But from what we know about the white room, Ayanakoji has not been in control of anything in his life from birth.

Kiyotaka intentionally came late to like kinda test her loyalty but more importantly to free her of her fears. She suffered yet she didnt give up meaning she pushed past her fears, that probably what he meant by this will do i think. Also the blue hair kicking girl, ibuki actually got grabbed by the neck and slammed done in ln

8:00 Funny thing is Ayanokoji goes jetstream sam and chokeslams Ibuki in the lightnovel rather than the stoic and gentlemanly chop.

As an LN reader who started reading when this dropped out I was so excited for it to be animated. However ibwas worried about how the fight would go while watching S2 with how the animation inconsistencies and other stuff but I'm very satisfied with how it turned Obv some details are missing but even so I'm glad the fight was this good, thank you for all your reaction on this incredible series

"This will do" means Kei not snitching him out proved that her and only her is the only person he could only trust in this school. This was more of Two birds with one stone situation, He knew he would have to face Ryuen at some point, so he pulled some strings that lead to this moment and keep his promise with Kei and free her from her shackles of fear.

"This will do" DO READ THIS AND I SWEAR THERE ARE NO SPOILERS 💀 Don't you guys think he could've come earlier?since he knew that Ryueen was torturing Kei (ryueen send him email as stated in last episode),but still he didn't show up its because according to him for Kei her past is more important & he thinks that she won't forgive him for what he did to her back then,so he was delaying it on purpose to the point where Kei will sell him out to Ryueen & then he'll use her guilt to keep her alongside him but it didn't go like that !! Instead Kei forgave him for what he did and underwent an immense development of leaving her parasitic nature behind,,now in the LN we're given 2 split POV's of Kei and Kiyotaka ,,from Kei's POV we found out that she forgave him & is no longer a parasite she used to be however in Kiyo's POV what author showed is that Kiyo misunderstood her growth & like I said above he wouldn't think that Kei will forgive him ,so he misunderstood & instead he still thinks that the reason why she didn't sell his name is because of her strong parasitic nature which she can't let go !! This split POV was very important for the story as we learn that Ayanokoji isn't PERFECT. Now going further,Ayanokoji no longer had any motive to elevate the class but then why did he bring manabu & made such a promise while going out of his way?we all know that all he wants is a normal highschool life ,right ?then why? Again the answer is "Kei Karuizawa" , Ayanokoji and Kei both had a dark past where they were bullied/tortured , Kei was bullied in her school whereas Kiyo went through torture in WR & yeah he used to have EMOTIONS,,both of them never felt loved in their past & they both carry darkness within themselves,now remember ep3 when he was giving some speech regarding darkness ?yeah ,that wasn't just for show ,it was about him & karuizawa Ayanokoji has never felt loved same goes with Karuizawa & also they both put up a fake personality in front of others except TO EACH OTHER ,so having a genuine conversation with someone with whom he can be his true self is why he wants to keep herself along with him & now his real intentions for calling Manabu was to bind himself to a promise to Manabu i.e., by seeking his help ,he is now obligated to return the favour in the form of helping Suzune.This way he found a new problem for himself,which served as a reason ,him and Kei could work together on,as he thought their distorted relationship was the only way they could move forward. Anime did a decent job but still as always it can't explain all the things like LN However a big hint of Ayanokoji hesitating is given in anime back in episode 10 when he was about to cut the call ,that face with no eyes ,those kind of face usually appears when the character is either saying something which he doesn't want to or simply hesitating.

Btw kiyotaka is intentionally not knocking out ryuuen out till he experience fear and also idk why they removed the WR flashback about his time there that he experienced fear and cried alot but it became to a point where he became dull to it and realized as long as he wins nothing really matters

They were so hyped up for fight club they literally change their usual title to "fight club"

The "this will do" means it's enough so karuizawa won't quit school, enough to trust karuizawa won't break and guarantees that she will remain as his pawn.

Slight spoiler warning i think? If your curious, when Ayanogod says "This will do" at the end, its referring to him having done enough to initiate feelings of true reliance in Kei. He now knows that Kei wont betray him whatsoever in the future, and will be completely loyal to him, making her one of his most prized pawns.

Ok, he knew that he could deal with Sakayanagi and Ichinose with intellect and using Horikita. Yet, he realize that Ryuuen only responded to violence from the start. He had to use violence to open his eyes so he can begin to grow as a person, just like he made Suzune grow. Now that Ryuuen knows fear and that violence is not the ultimate weapon he can see the world with a new set of eyes. There's an actual reason as to why he tries to develop everyone's potential as a goal, but that is still a few ways down the road for you to found out. Just keep in mind that whatever is happening, he probably knows and is three steps ahead.

This got the same energy when Vegeta fought Android 13.

Ayanokougi purposefully came late because he was hoping that kei will give his name and then will feel guilt after Ayanokougi actually shows up So that way he can use that guilt to further manipulate her in future And Ryuuen was hoping Kei will give up Master minds name and then use her to Destroy Mastermind later . and in return he won't bully her ever again and neither anyone of his classmates Unfortunately both Ayanokougi and Ryuuen failed

Ayanokoji resolved this problem using violence He basically beat ryuuen at his own game!!!

His teacher's for Calligraphy and Piano had anger issues. Kiyotaka has hands because his teacher beat the literal s*** out of him when he was little.

I don't know what the anime is exactly doing with kiyotaka's character, so I'm not sure if he has emotions or not in it. Because in the light novel he has emotions, but he's just very bad at expressing them.

Kiyotaka can't show emotion on his face but obviously he actually feels emotions. The only point of having a disparity of what his fsce shows and how he actually feels. There tons of hints that he actually cares about people if don't take Kiyotaka's words at face value. Read between the lines. He a lot of unnecessary stuff for someone who supposedly only views people as tools. Kei, Sakura, Sudo, and Horikita being good examples. Kiyotaka is literally just awkward, he's never been accustomed to these social interactions and development. You need FORGET about his face and voice and because that's not changing. Instead focus on his actions and words and how they contradict as well as how they "conveniently" lead others benefits or growth.

This show is about a guy who wants to be a life controller (like TV controller)😊😊
