I love the hbo boxing commentary team but every now and then they come across as biased in one fighters favor. That felt like the case in this bout. They were constantly building up Barrera while Valera’s work was consistently ignored. I can understand Valeria’s frustration with the handling of the low blows as well. None were intentional, Barrera was never shy about making a show of them, and points were deducted to hastily, in my opinion. Despite the outcome, I enjoyed Valera’s performance far better then Barrera.

1:19 ward fans would call that "borderline bodyshots"
