Yup as everyone already mentioned here. They are not just friends because they were teammates but Masvidal actually said Lawler's like a brother to him and it sucks that he left ATT. He also said he would fly anywhere in the world if Lawler asked him to help him with a training camp. Then again he also mentioned in another interview that he will only talk about fighting friends/teammates when or if the time actually comes so idk.......
Masvidal was always good, the only reason why he wasn't ranked higher before this is because UFC judges hate him and gave him 3 losses that should have been wins and try to push him aside. Glad he humiliates all the haters and finally gets the recognition he deserves.
Nice to see Masvidal go from fighting on Kimbo backyard fights and school people to performing at a high level in the UFC. He always is a all around durable fighter.
Masvidal is a great fighter and an instrusting guy and I'm glad he finally receives all the attention he has been deserving for a long time with this amazing victory on a guy who was running the most impressive winning/finishing streak I had ever seen. It's been more than a year and a half that I started being fan of Gamebred's style and watching the most fights of his I could find (Healy, Edwards, Iaquinta, Lauzon, Krause, etc....), not disappointed on that one at all !!! Great display of efficient striking and smart fighting :D

NICK Diaz vs Masvidal would be fight of the year! Lemme explain: They're both some of the hardest people to finish. Both only tko'd once and a long time ago. Nick has never been tapped out and last time Jorge tapped was in 2009. They have great cardio! They're boxing is probably the best in the UFC. Also they're always in you're face and they have a killer instinct. Fun fact: Nick complimented Jorge for his great boxing, its on RU-vid. I hope it happens and maybe even on UFC 209.

Yeah I recall him saying that he was contemplating retirement at the press conference saying he doesn't think he's capable of competing at this high level, which is not true Demian Maia is simply the most skillfull Jiu-Jitsu practitioner in the UFC as Royce Gracie described him. Carlos Condit shouldn't feel discouraged, but if he's concerned about potential brain trauma from MMA affecting him later in life than the combination of those two factors may convince him to retire.
