i know that starved takes place in sonic cd, but i wanted to somehow make this cover connect with the 06 prey cover, which is why i drew amy in her modern design. as for the backstory, think of it is an au where starved doesn't kill off the main cast or something like that haha idk

In this universe, Starved Eggman doesn’t get to the rest of the cast in time, leading them to band together to search for Sonic after his rather sudden disappearance. Now, Knuckles, Amy and Tails have teamed up against the wicked scientist to get revenge for Sonic and all their fallen friends.

Technically, its actually fair Tails is smart, but weak Knuckles is the strongest of the trio, but doesn't know much since he's spent his whole life on an island. And amy just has a warhammer. Starved is intelligent, strong, and has plenty of tech.

If this is a continuation of the 06 Prey cover, then I imagine that this takes place only a while after Prey happens. After Shadow used Chaos Control, it took Silver, Sonic, Furnace and Shadow himself somewhere that they could safely dismantle the living toaster without anyone else getting hurt. This wasn't the first time Silver had encountered Furnace, though; he knew that Sonic would get lured into Eggman's trap if he learned Amy had gotten cooked. So, in preparation to get things done as bloodlessly as possible, he warned Amy of Furnace's attack. Amy, now forewarned of the ambush, tried to get into contact with Tails to get some backup for the situation. As a result, Amy was late to her arrival in Collision Chaos, and Furnace's attack was unsuccessful. With Tails notified, she also asked him to take her to Angel Island on the Tornado. Not only would she be safer from Furnace, given she was hunted, but so she could try and convince Knuckles to help stop Eggman. Needless to say, the mention of flames engulfing the island was enough to remind Knuckles of Eggman's plot on Angel Island. He wasn't gonna let that happen to his Island again. As the three Hedgehogs make furnace vanish, Eggman himself is left defenseless. And as the trio returns to Little Planet to stop Eggman's fiendish scheme... or rather, Starved's fiendish scheme, they finally corner him. It's now or never. Do or die. Fight or Flight. And nobody's running anymore.

Don’t get me wrong, I absolutely ADORE this cover and the story tied to it, but I do believe that if you were gonna pair it with the 06 prey story, maybe it should’ve been Tails, Omega, and Blaze. Amy would be protecting Cream with Gemerl and Knux could be guard a handful of flickies and the Master Emerald with Rouge. (P.S. Oh, and before anyone else says it, this is a universe where Amy isn’t killed. If Amy were killed, the creator of this cover wouldn’t have added Amy, or would’ve made Amy look like Classic Amy. Despite the fact some might find this message pointless, I’m getting tired of seeing people mention the idea that Amy is dead in the original Starved AU, despite the fact that me and a couple others in this reply thread have made it pretty obvious this is an alternative universe where Amy isn’t dead. Amy is shown alive in this video, so if you wanna talk about how, “Amy died this don’t make make any sense” make it a standalone comment instead of giving me a notification everytime you decide not to check if someone else has said this. That being said, I’m like 89% sure most people are saying this just to infuriate me now, so if you just didn’t know, sorry, and have a nice day. If you’re trolling, move along.)

I'm assuming what happened here was that instead of Sonic dying, Mighty actually dies here. In a one on one tussle with Furnace, Mighty gets critically scratched in the eye, and when his defense was down he was soon burnt. Sonic finds out and Ray was sent to report it to the others, since Sonic is currently racing Furnace. While this happens, Tails, Knuckles, and Amy confront Starved and now, the song takes place.

Amy was never captured in this timeline. In fact she was saved from furnace before she could be cooked and left after being saved by Sonic (despite her not wanting too.) After the battle of stardust speedway Tails searches for his friends who's been missing for months. Which leads him to Amy who says she hasn't seen Sonic since little planet disappeared. The two look for the chaos emeralds but find nothing. They are then met with knuckles who island was attacked by starved's robots. This unlikely trio decide it's best to work together then alone and search for the mad doctor and hopefully their missing hero.

I got a story for this whole shabang: On a fine day within the green hills Tails discovered that animals were slowly starting to flicker out of existence almost as if they never existed. His reading discovered that someone had been manipulating the past to have Eggman switch places with a more monstrous version of himself. Only for at that moment he realized he was flickering away. Meanwhile Sonic Amy Knuckles and Shadow had been approached by Silver who told them that the future was in danger again this time by an Eggman that craved the flesh of all Mobians and his machine Furnace. Realizing this they head to tails base to pick him up only for him and his house to wink out of exsistence. This panics everyone having them realize this is happening deeper in the past and they need to go back. Using the time stones they split up to find Furnace and Eggman. After Eggman is scared off and Furnace is destroyed Amy and Knuckles find Classic tails ( with both tails this time around) and he tells them that Eggman is killing Mobians. The trio of Amy Knuckles and Tails go off and confront the Carnivorous egg. Upon his defeat the present goes somewhat back to normal (with Eggman dead and the Mobians an out 20% less but they will be fine). Now our heros no longer have too deal with the monstrous egghead and they have their freinds back at least. The end.. ?

You know, I always thought that metal sonic would also be in tails’s side. My headcanon is that starved replaced him with furnace, and this made metal sonic want revenge on his creator. Just an idea.

Plot: so basically this is after the events of "prey" so sonics friends were looking for him since he said he was save something but he was not sure what. Tails got suspicious and thought maybe he's trapped so he told knuckles and Amy so they came up with a plan to free "sonic". When they arrived they snuck in without any robots noticing them so while they were looking for a map Amy found a box that said "sonic in blood" they opened it and found the remains of sonic. They were all devastated that their friend was just dead right in front of them. Amy and tails was sick and knuckles noticed a lever. He pulled it and found a hidden passage way. They continued and found what appeared to be eggman that had red skin, no mustache and he looked like he had not lips.

If you cringe I’m sorry. The building was dilapidated, holes were in the walls, and blood wasn’t an uncommon sight as Knuckles and Amy walked through what was left of Eggman’s fortress. They were looking for any prisoners of Eggman’s deprived machinations, anyone who still had some life left would be of use. It was then, they heard a scream come from deeper inside the fortress. “Did you hear that?” Knuckles asked Amy. “Yeah,” she replied, “That sounded like Tails, didn’t it?” Knuckles nodded in response and took off running, Amy soon followed suit, and they were on their way to find who screamed. After a few minutes and careful avoidance of Eggman’s new machines, they had reached a door. Knuckles immediately punched the door open, making it crumble from the force it was hit with. Inside the room, was a boiler, many kitchen utensils, plates, and Eggman standing there, a large yellow furred tail in hand. There was a blood trail on the ground moving away from Eggman, Amy saw that it was Tails. Tails was crawling away from the mad doctor, stump of where used to be a tail covered by his hand. Tails turned his attention to the now broken door and the duo that stood where it once was. Amy immediately ran over to the fox as Eggman laughed. “Echidna, hedgehog, I know excellent recipes you will go well with.” Eggman dropped Tails’ tail and turned his head up to them. Amy was helping Tails up as he stared at his dismembered tail. “Tails?” Amy asks in worry and Knuckles raises his fists, ready to defend them against Eggman. Tails turns his head to look at her before he fully stands up, grabbing a sharp piece of metal and holding in front of him. “I’ll talk later. We need to end this now.” Tails said, pointing the piece of metal at the doctor. Amy pulled out her hammer and readied a swing, all the while Eggman simply looked at them as if deciding which to eat first. “Very well, creatures. Let us dine. I am simply starving.”

Though I get what you're trying to serve, I like to see this as Tails seeking help from Knuckles and Amy from separate Earths. For instance, Knuckles would be from an Earth that is post-modern and pre-boom. Amy would be from Prime Earth where Eggman would never stoop as low as to eat Mobian flesh.

I'm just gonna say this, canonicaly amy has been eaten by starved in this universe, and we don't know what happened to knuckles. So, unless this is an amy from another timeline who as heard that the tails from the starved universe was in danger, she must have used the chaos emeralds to travel to this universe with knuckles to help tails fight starved and potentialy win this confrontation since it's a 3v1.
