@@natsusatsujinki8342 smh what are you even talking about? Those dont mean 2 different things. He had the audacity to take the opportunity to jump on his back. It was definitely an audacious and completely stupid move
He has absolutely zero professional discipline and that kinda animalistic behavior shouldn’t be tolerated in ANY kind of organized/professional fighting. Totally disgraceful, to the entire sport!
@@QAZ-OMEN It was against the rules so yes the DQ was the right call. Should up kicks be allowed when both are down? Yes, but they aren't so Anderson landed a illegal kick he knew was illegal and got DQd for it.
@@PirunKankkee but was is it really a kick , or was he trying to scramble to get back to his feet and it just landed in the wrong place ? But rules are rules
@@djocharablaikan8601 Looks like he intended to land butt first on his back but missed. That might've done some damage. Either way it was unnecessarily dishonorable.
the rules states, very clearly, the fight is not over until an official intervenes, even if the fighter KNOWS his opponent is out, he has to at least throw a few more punches if the official doesn't step in
This comes up all the goddamn time, every single knockout video. Every single one. As others said, the rules state that the fight is still going until the referee intervenes, but more importantly, I think you're seriously, *seriously* overestimating how much time passes between the downing and the follow-up strikes. You act as though the opponent is knocked down, and the fighter goes, leans over, checks, sees they're down, and thinks "ooh nice, he's knocked out! Time to get a few more licks in just for me!" I'm obviously being hyperbolic, but it's a split second decision. Stop being dramatic; there shouldn't be "a criminal charge", that's ludicrous. I'm speaking for 99% of instances. For instances like most of Mike Kyle's career, yeah, there should be legal repercussions. But for the average fight, no, it's all in the game.
That last guy would kill a man in the street. People who attack clearly knocked out opponents over and over are disgusting. The referee has stopped the fight and he attacks more, that should be assault, the sport has concluded and he's still pounding
This is why boxing will always be more popular. The Queensberry rules are the only set of rules that are noble enough to be accepted by virtually everyone in civilised society. No matter how hard they try, they will never get some people to accept mma because it will always have this air of slimy unsportsmanlike behaviour about it. Choking someone will always be a snake move no matter how they try and normalise it.
@@ahadkirk1928I mean, to be fair, in some areas of the world it and other Full contact sports are illegal. But not everyone is going to agree; at the end of the day many cultures just love watching combat sports too much. I personally find them entertaining, though I’d certainly never participate and have my opinions on issues like the pay the fighters get.
Anyone from the old days will remember this. At pride 7 Bob Schrijber was disqualified and should have gone to jail. The round was over, his opponent who was Daijiru Matsui was lying in front of him, he then after the end of the round gave a blow with his heel right on the back of Matsui's head, that could have left the Japanese paralyzed. Was brutal...
Another Matsui bout involved an incidental groin shot by Rampage only a few seconds into the bout, which resulted in another groin shot DQ like Hansen's. But yeah, Dirty Bob was a piece of shit.
@@jacksonrelaxin3425A KO when you're not expecting it can be devastating. If you see it coming you can tense up, contract your jaw muscle to absorb the blow. But if you're relaxed and not in the fight, yeah you're getting send to the shadow realm
@@joshhfletchh4841 And it's just a punch in a fight. If a single (and only) was enough for him to get knocked out and carried away - that fight was lost for him before it had begun.
Let’s not all forget in the jones vs hamill fight after the illegal elbows the ref asked hamill (who has been deaf since birth) if he was ok and when he didn’t get a response he disqualified jones
I think the secret to getting an out of control fighter off of his unconscious opponent is to tackle him but don't grab him by the arms since those can move, instead grab him by the eyes and in most cases he will stop struggling.
2:30 The rules protecting graplers are annoying af. People complain about the different phases of graplers dominating, bjj, wrestling, the Dagastanis. But no one is talking about then removing bulshit rules like this that would let strikers fight back from the ground.
BJJ is the most useless martial art and seeing them bend the rules to favor 'defensive grapplers' is disheartening as it is destroying the sport. In any fight, being on your back is a terrible spot to be in, in UFC its advantageous.
@@kateanderson8384 There's no chance you've been in a fight once in your life if you think bjj is useless. In a real life scenario and in mma bjj can be utilized much easier and is way more effective than strikes. Don't believe it? imagine you attempting to punch someone while they are focused on forcing you into a heel hook. Doesn't make sense because you're just going to cause a bruise or 2 while the bjj practitioner is going to quite literally rip your knee apart. Look up Guy uses bjj in basketball fight in case you're still not convinced. Also heel hooks aren't even the most effective bjj move. Blood chokes can not only knock someone out as easy as a punch can but it can also kill the person if held for long enough.
@@haydenphipps4923 Using bjj in a street fight is ludicrous. The vast majority in a street fight are NOT fighting 1 on 1 so the likelihood of you exposing your vital areas while putting someone in a heel lock only to get soccer kicked to the head just doesn't seem appealing to me. In a street fight it is much more advantageous for you or anyone to stay on your feet as much as possible.
There are SO many fights where Jones should have been DQ'd. I guess he thought his immunity to eye-poke DQ's extended to every other illegal strike he could make. Dude wasn't surprised that he got DQ'd, he was surprised he was finally held accountable for making an illegal strike on his opponent.
The Silva vs Okami incident is a clear case of the rules not accounting for every situation. While Okami's knees were on the ground, Silva was lying on his back and the intent was a teep kick that would allow him to escape. The knockout was a complete fluke and it was taken away due to having no protocol for the specific sequence of events.
He might have got hit, but the acting was bad. Sitting there for a bit then rolling his eyes back intentionally before laying back down again. The eyes rolling back happens when you get knocked out. It doesn't happen afterwards unless he gets hit again, which he didn't because the fight was paused. Lost the last bit of respect I had for him that night. A whiner with a boring fight style.
@@canuck2444 cry about it i mean i guess just mald because the guy you like did something insanely moronic and lost his belt for it, i mean it'd be better if you were malding at the person who did the dumb thing but REEEEEEE HE'S A FAKER
You’re allowed to jump and smash your knee into a dudes skull so hard it fractures his forehead, but if you throw a 6-12 elbow which doesn’t do nearly as much damage and is about the same as throwing a regular elbow to the nose, you get a auto loss FOR winning basically
It’s not allowed and he broke the rules. He is favored by Dana White. He is infamous for poking peoples eyes. And for juicing. The guy is literally cheating and doesn’t get punished. Salty on him. Who cares.
With all due respect, (and I dislike Jon jones) but Jon shouldn’t have been DQd. The fight was over before that elbow and it changed nothing. Also there’s plenty of instances of freak eye pokes and accidental nut shots. Are you telling me anyone that gives an accidental nut shot because an opponent stepped in for a punch should just lose? If so there would be about 2-3 fights that end in DQ a card.
If Jon Jones used an illegal 12-6 elbow in order to be disqualified, on what basis can anyone say the loss should be scrubbed off the records? Can anyone explain "The Case for Jon Jones" for me?
The reason why people say the loss should be taken off the record is because prior to the elbows Jones had him on the ground and was constantly hitting him with no real response. And he kept looking at the ref to see if he'll stop the fight, but the ref didn't so he began to use the elbow in order to stop the fight. And at the time he didn't know the 12 to 6 was illegal. And the fighter himself said that he definitely didn't win that fight. Either way hope that helps
@@mjrulesgodofmusic3026 He knew it was illegal, stop trying to make him seem ignorant. Also Hammill was actively grappling back, meaning he was conscious and acting defensively. Jon "Bitch Boy" jones deserves the L.
Shows how little Dana cares about his fighters, wanting Jon Jones loss over turned just because of the already disgraced fighters blemished record is sickening. The man threw an illegal elbow on a downed opponent that even a layman knows is no grounds for a "No Contest" ruling.
The only thing Dana cares or has ever cared about is $$$, getting the loss overturned means he can promote JJ as undefeated which means more money. That’s why he loves Conor McGregor so much, he acts like a friend but he doesn’t care about Conor just the money he makes. Once he’s milked Conor for all he’s worth he’ll be cast aside for the next big thing in line. It is disgusting, rules are there to safeguard fighters and if certain fighters think they can get away with pulling illegal shit because of who they are and the fact that Dana will back them then it’s only going to be matter of time before someone is killed. Those decisions where there is clear intent on the fighters part to conduct an illegal move and potentially endanger the safety and life of their opponent should absolutely 100% stand.
@@gravy180rs 100% agreement. Also I hope his $100 Mill Bud Light endorsement was worth it as many fans won't be buying PPV's anymore. I have been buying PPV's since 2011 but no more. Cancelled my Fight Pass too.
You know it's funny and he's not the first man that knocked himself out. I seen a guy that lost on the single punch even though his opponent never threw a punch their heads collided this guy fell straight down and is unconscious opponent did too right on top of his head which consequently knock him out too it was declared a double knockout
There was a fight some time ago(UFC, I think) where a guy going for a slam had his head too far out and succeeded in knocking out both him and his opponent.

1:30 I remember watching that live. It is ALWAYS the failure of that ref. There is a Lua dry list of bad call he has given. But that one had us all go "um... ref... you gonna call it?... no?!?!?"
He tries to dislocate shoulders and kick out peoples ACLs. Legal..but very POS moves. They are essentially submissions you don't have an opportunity to tap out to.
I do think that when a fighter in a winning position is disqualified, it shouln't be a win for the opponent. How is it justified in the first clip that a guy who was knocked out wins?
Knees / kicks to downed opponents have also resulted in quite a few WWE injuries when the wrestlers were trying NOT to hurt each other, but just missed their mark.
Hitting someone in the back of the head should only happen if you think you’re in real danger, even then it feels dirty because you see the effects it has, gotta be ready to see them lose all desire to fight and struggle to balance on their hands and knees
Not being able to knee or kick a downed opponent is the dumbest thing. So many rules in MMA. I understand eye gouging but anyone can just drop to both knees to avoid kicks to the face. It should be allowed because one should avoid being in that position in the first place. The ref can stop the fight after the kick and call it. This is bs.
Brock said, I'm just gonna make my body huge and run at people like Ben askren but dodge the knees. Also Brock, all you gotta know is bjj and eat protein powder. Interviewer: you "eat" the protein powder??. Brock:looks down and glares in steroid.
