I am glad we never had dialup. Otherwise, that would have been a sound I would be vividly remember even today before that video. My mom didnt even know what dialup was until like april, so she never knew this sound before. We just got wifi in 2006.

Nakul Sharma yep, except the fact that after Season 1, it doesnt feel like the 90s anymore; even the early-mid 2000s seemed more ancient than the setting of this show; before i watched an episode in entirety, i thought this show was set present day; i guess throwing 90s cars all over, throwing box TVs and computer monitors, and not making anyone use cell phones is the only way to make it seem like the 90s, but even in the mid 2000s, it was just like that

Same everywhere..Indians and Chinese are cousins ha ha .i would like to see an Indian family serie to show us more of your cultures even though I saw Indian movies and they are cool too. This show is very realistic because it shows real things of the Chinese culture..i m Chinese raised in Italy and I totally relate Jessica to my mom' actions behaviour and thoughts..and the last scene of this episode is so true..Chinese people never give compliments ha ha and they show their love not telling you "I love you" but asking you if you ate and cooking every dishe you love......

Kurt Lim internet existed then. Parents are crazy even today. Internet started to become mainstream like in 2006, at least based on online sources and my own experience. I never saw internet before then.

@@SYDAirlineEnthusiast In mi country there have been internet cafes since 2001 but they were really expensive. Some local government give one or two hours for free every day. At that time only rich people could afford having internet connection at home. It becomes affordable in 2010 more or less, at the same time almost all the internet cafes started to close.

Jason Yang, what do you mean noone uses those cords anymore? That's still the standard cord for PSUs. But yes, the unplugged port appears to be a second port for plugging in a monitor, which some PSUs have. The plug directly below it is the power input.

Chinese words have different pronunciations. Ma can be pronounced differently and mean different thing. Ah ma for mother and ah ma for grandma is different. Different tone. Even if it’s spelled the same.

In chinese "阿妈” and “阿嬷” almost pronounce same. But first one means mother, 2nd means grandma.

It's either amaaa, a Maa or horse, take your pick

Mandarin is super complicated. You guys should learn Malayalam instead. Amma means mom. Paternal grandma is achamma, maternal grandma is ammumma

I live in Beijing and I've only ever heard "ma ma"

In Telugu we call mother's mother "amamma" or "amma-ma".
