I guess that "planting rice" refers to the fact that the ground is really wet in that area. A while back, I went to a party at a friend's house. He has a fire pit. It had been raining a lot and the pit had become a mud hole filled with water. We placed a set of logs vertically in the pit to make a flat surface above the water and made our fire on top of that. By the time the night was done, the pit was fully dry and the fire had burned all the way to the bottom.

Here you go DP: "“The Volvo EC210Ds are fuel-efficient hydraulic excavators that burn only 8 gallons an hour informs Yustanto." ... meaning you're still money ahead IMHO. And to make you feel even better, the burn rate for a CAT D11 is 37 gallons per hour full bore. But sure would be fun to watch Jerry on a D11 ... hint, hint.

Nice Work DP! It goes without saying the 850J is a Beast and from where I'm sitting The 210 is a perfect Match for it. The brute power it projects is amazing, it is still making impressing the daylights out of me. Putting trees down is just about as hard as digging through solid rock as far as I'm concerned. My opinion on fuel usage is If the machine preforms with every job you do it is worth the fuel cost, as long as you are getting better performance along with the higher rate it's a win win in my book. To Quote Jerry " I would keep this thing" Keep up the Good Work!!

I am currently running a 210g Deere it has around 3500 hours on it and I'm doing a water and sewer job, the screen is telling me it's burning 20 liters per hour, converted for you that's just over 5.2 gallons an hour and think it's hard on fuel. That's starting to look like a Letsdig18 fire. The 210 tilted forward in the mud had to have been an interesting ride. Taking those trees out really improved the look of the place. 3.5 gallons fuel per hours sounds okay considering the mud, the size of the trees, and pushing Matt out of the mud. Dirt Perfect's Tree Clearing and Bone Fire service "If you got the trees we got the bone fire"
@Muppet_Interfector
@Muppet_Interfector 2 года назад
This appears to be a big part of your job, tearing out trees. We also have the same happening here with much land been cleared for grass to allow grazing of sheep and cattle. Many places now starting to turn things around as making money through easy use of large agricultural machinery is not the only priority. People are starting to think about climate and biodiversity. Some birds had totally disappeared from farming areas. People are now planting corridors of trees to allow birds and animals to make their way from one forest area to another. The corridors also make for permanent habitat for some species. Let’s hope you guys have got the balance right where you are.
@russellsmith3825
@russellsmith3825 2 года назад
Trees and pasture are not mutually exclusive, look up Silvio pasture and alley cropping, very complimentary. Also check into the biotic pump theory as to the effect trees can have on water.
@Muppet_Interfector
@Muppet_Interfector 2 года назад
@@russellsmith3825 I am not a farmer and I am also not an advocate of broad acre clearing with billiard table treeless fields. I have actually participated in the planting of tree corridors to try and bring back native birds into an area. Here in Australia the clearing of trees has allowed the water table to rise and the salt to come to the surface making the land useless. The pumping effect of trees is one thing that keeps the land from turning into a salted desert as the water table does not rise to the surface. Thanks for the information, I hope someone on the land is able to use it.

One amazing machine. You really need to look at the entire job, number of pieces of equipment, the total fuel burn per hour and the total hours if you were using your existing machines compared to the using the 210 and 850J. Finally add the additional time into the mix, time you don't pay labor, including yourself and the fact you could be on the next job sooner. Looking at a single piece of equipment does not tell the story. I think the overall would be considerably lower for the 210 and 850J, but got to do the math. Thanks for sharing.

All true, plus the fact that a new class of heavier jobs can be engaged, difficult or impossible with smaller equipment. Bringing in new work previously not doable, as well as doing regular work much faster, are all factors in the buying decision.

Mike I have rented both size machines digging up stumps on my property and I can honestly say being rented machines you know as well as I do they aren't taken care of as you do but I will say as for as fuel burn goes I think that anywhere between 3 to 3.5 is a good average I had one that was burning almost 4 and I called the dealer to come change the fuel filters cause that's just insane when running at half to 3 quarter throttle and just moving it was burning that much, so I will say that should be about the average but I'm no mechanic by any means.
