Why do so many people hate on Almeida? He just had one boring fight, before the derrick lewis fight, he had the 3th shortest fight time in the ufc. He was a beast and ragdolling everybody. O'Malley clearly wants a risk-free title fight. But it really doesn't make sense from the UFC's point of view. Both Sean and Ilia are potential superstars and it would be a lot smarter to build them separately. If Sean were to win, Ilia's momentum would be gone and he'd lose the aura of being undefeated - even worse if he gets KO'd. Ilia winning wouldn't be as bad for Sean, but it would still be a major hit to his popularity. If you want an example, Izzy's fame never fully recovered after Jan beat him at 205 despite him retaining his belt. What the UFC should do right now is keep both Ilia and Sean in their respective divisions. If either of them want to move up in weight, it should be against someone who isn't a star (or Conor, who would just be a surefire win for someone like Ilia).
