Interesting... I wonder if a pistol crossbow prod could be used instead of the wooden bow ? I would imagine so, but what poundage would be best ? It might be worth putting one in a bug out bag just in case.

interesting! How much the trigger is sensitive? It seems the pressure produced by the bow needs a strong action on the bait to activate the trigger

I love this trap mate. Using same idea I came up with a double Bow figure 4 or paiute dead fall to be able to use wide logs and raft shaped dead falls with rocks added to the top. Just need a pole to pull up evenly on bow bows. Which can also be tide on and be part of the dead fall structure just extending out both sides a bit. I love this trap for quickness. Years ago I taught like 5 methods to have a springy whip stick push down on dead fall to make traps fast. In season of Alone or another survival show someone used my Idea and impressed the instructors during survival training and trap making. Great trap. Thanks so much for this, I love it, and as said it gave me the inspiration to also come up with the double bow figure 4 or paiute dead fall trap. Cheers.
