The finished paratrooper looks great. I can see that it is a well sculpted figure, and you pay particular attention to details; especially the extra washes, highlights, shadows that make him look real. Stay healthy and safe!
I think I would tune in just for the opening music. Okay, I"m kidding... I love your figure painting videos--even though I have to pause the sequence often to get those screen shots of the paint combos (which are most appreciated)! Thanks.
Thanks.....keep an eye out after my French diorama is finished as the project after that will feature more British Paras and I have an AK 3rd Gen paint set for them this time👍
@@CWModelling Just watched that fab horse & rider painting episode. As I have a stock of Vallejo paints and some USAAF dudes to paint, this was most helpful.
Good video about the painting of this figure. Even if you think, this was not your finest hour, you are still well above average and achieved a great result. Best wishes, Ian. Greetings, Joachim
Your finest hour is scary as that was magnificent. Thank you. Could I suggest a colour call out in the description so that we can make sure we have all of the colours. Thanks again.
Hi chalky, great job. It's just another notch on your chest for a fantastic piece of work. Hope you and your family are all fit and healthy and virus free? Please stay safe matey
Another great video tutorial. What do you use for making rifle slings? Do you have a favourite brand of figures? This SK Miniatures one has a really interesting pose.
Great video. And beautiful work. I do use Vallejo paint, how is your palette setup? Is that parchment paper sitting in water? And that prevents the paint from drying as you complete the figure?
Great job ! Will definetly follow your steps for painting my own paras ;) BTW, do you wait for the whole diorama to be ready to paint the "insignia" (Pegasus, rank, ...) ?
I'm not aware that the Denison Smock had the Pegasus shoulder badge on it and I've never really thought about painting rank badges but I'll give it some thought 👍
@@CWModelling You're probably right about the pegasus shoulder badge (although I was quite sure about it, but can't find any picture showing it in that place) but the winged airborne troops insignia was on the right shoulder of the Denison of para troops [upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/4/45/Operation_Tonga.jpg]. As of the rank (NCOs), it was worn on the right arm... I also saw Airborne wings on the left chest and believe it was for Glider Pilots...
you get great results using quite simple techniques. could you paint a british ww2 desert soldier. im trying but it just keeps coming out like a statue or terricota warrior
Not sure if this is what you have in mind but this guy is close to a North Africa campaign 'tanker'.....I'll bear it in mind for the future👍..... ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-7Xj5PmYi7n8.html
Not your finest hour? I'd love to see what is! This is another outstanding figure. I wish the camera speed were a little slower to follow your brush strokes and technique especially when you are doing the face.
What base coat do you use I mean primer I have been doing the hobby since I was 6 but know as a teenager I want to try to get better by using the stuff you do you a have any tips on brush painting figures?
Loved this, finally found a accurate colour scheme to follow. This is really great work. However I've got 30 to paint for my grandson play with. Any chance you have a quicker guide with just one colour guide, so dark green base for jacket, red brown for trousers etc etc I totally understand you're a professional model maker and would hate a slapdash approach , however I feel this would really help beginners and those of us painting large numbers in a limited time frame. There is a '13 step' guide on RU-vid but the colours are awful. So basic one colour with a wash over the detail and whether & how to use a lacquer Regards Karl
