I really like Smart-Diaz's Mask of Zorro programme. It is dramatic and thrilling. Love the choreography. I'm so happy for them that they could give their best performance of it sans mistakes at the olympics. And with perfect expressions and body language.
The canadian couple dancing brazilian carnival song was IMPRESSIVE. As a brazilian, I loved it. At the and he even danced samba style, which is really hard even for some brazilian male.
I'm really surprised that so many people in the Spanish area didn't stand up and cheer for Smart & Diaz. I mean, some of the responses were just lukewarm, and S/D were fabulous and their program was fun! Maybe they're the people who wanted Hurtado/Khaliavin to be at the Olympics or something. S/D were the only Spanish team there, *represent*!
Papadakis & Cizeron were in another Level.. What a chemical..I havent thought after Virtue & Moir would catched perfection but this was beyond perfection..

I would love to see them on the podium in 2026. Maybe not gold(I'd like to see either Chock and Bates or Gilles and Poirier do that) and the Italians. Maybe Lilah and Lewis can go for a bronze medal, assuming the Russians are still banned by then.
Katlin and Jean-luv team USA. What makes you guys Amazing is how closely you skate together. That’s the first thing I noticed. The room for era is so great, that’s what the other skaters lacked so far. Just look at their feet. That’s what it truly means to anticipate your partner’s moves. So many lack this and overcompensate with extra jumps. Way to Go, team USA.
Montreal school produces the world's best performers without doubt. Every one couple from it is a duo of ballet ice dancers, beginning with the french couple. It is probably what is missing for the russian ones who are only excellent athletes but not ice artists

Many skaters share coaches, the coaching team of Dubreuil and Lauzon in Montreal is considered one of the best in the world so a lot of ice dance couples go to them.
There is not another pair that could beat this French team as I see it. They are perfect in every way. The aesthetic, the way they look together, no other pair has that, the way I see it. Then there is no other male skater in all of ice skating, skates like Guillaume. Maybe I can't say the same for her, but together they are magic. The way I see it Virtue and Moir should not have beaten them, they for instance are too close in height, they just don't look the same.
Yes Guillaume is the outstanding male dancer. It ' s a joy to watch him move. But Gabriella, if she is not as flexible as he is, is exactly half part of the team, and blends beautifully with him from their debut. Besides, she improved a lot her skating skills. Just tell me : who else could dance so magically with Guillaume, with this precise and vulnerable grace ? For the rest l Do agree, they Should have won earlier, they were so much above any other team, for years, including Virtue/Moir, who were however, excellent performers. It ' s a matter of taste , Gabriella Papadakis and Guillaume Cizeron just capture our souls every time they dance. They take me to an other world, no team had done it before, ever I hope they will come back to compétition
It is amazing to see the art and reserch they made each time: it' s so new, so unheard of, that it takes months sometimes for people to realise how mindblowing their routines are, for instance when they won in 2016 in Boston the world shampionships, l heard very depreciating comments, from canadian commentators : this routine is one of my favourite, it widly shared now, almost à classic..

Sinitsina-Kastalokov really up-ed their game from the team event! The team event wasn't one of their best outings. I was wondering if it was olympic nerves & whether they'd slip up and lose a place to one of the american pairs. Glad to see them give their best performance of the fd programme today.
I agree. I wonder if they would have tightened it up if the judges in the team event hadn't accurately reflected their mistakes in their scores? The looks on all of their faces when they scored less than H/D was classic. They're not used to that.
To me, Papadakis/Cizeron were definitely the best. I equally liked Sinitsina/Katsalapov and Hubbel/Donohue. Guess next Winter Olympics the fight for first place will be between these two pairs.
@@fabs8498 - Besides PC being the youngest of the 3 ice dance couples, PC have also skated together the longest, so far - 14 seasons. Donahue/Hubbell - 11 seasons Sinitsina/Katsalapov - 8 seasons.
Как я Вас понимаю. Так скучаем по ним и хотя постоянно пересматриваем но все равно было ощущение ожидания во время просмотра что вот последними как всегда выйдут Тесса и Скотт и сердце замрет но увы ощутили только пустоту и разочарование. Будем пересматривать дальше и наслаждаться счастливыми минутами их творчества.

In my opinion, Gilles/Poirier had better programs (in my eyes, not necessarily the judges') in 2018, and they performed them perfectly at the Olympics. I kind of feel bad for them. They really thought they had a chance for a medal, and so did a lot of other people, including me. They were World bronze medalists last season, and they got big scores at Skate Canada and Autumn Classic this season.
I would have liked to see Chock and Bates get the 🥉 (not that I'm trying to take anything away from Hubbell and Donohue, they were great) and Stepanova and Bukin get 🥈.

I agree! The American teams had such an interesting and creative choreography and dances compared to... I'm not a judge but if I were one I would give Hubbell/Donohue the silver and Chock/Bates the bronze

Como casal, não apresentaram uma quimica tão convincente quanto Nikita e Victoria, ou quanto eles mesmos em programas de outrora, pareciam mais dois irmãos andróides, sincronia perfeita, mas incorrigivelmente frios. Fato é que o proprio técnico dos russos admitiu que "seus alunos deram tudo de sí, mas os franceses foram brilhantes".
Did Gabi & Gui change their first straight line lift?? IIRC, Gabi used to be in a complete upside down position when they did this programme earlier. I'm happy with the change though - the upside down one use to look kind of precarious and forced
They (and many other top teams tbh) are known to tweak program choreography as the season progresses to get to the best composition possible. Their waacking rhythm dance has gone through multiple versions too.
@@edukid1984 Yes, I know that. Every one tweaks programmes throughout the season. It wasn't really a question - more of an observation while watching - rhetorically put in the form of a question. Intonations r lost in translation on digital media 🥴😉
I feel so bad for the first Canadian pair to compete. When the people were introducing them, they were unable to practice because people kept on getting in their way before they could start anything.
