My brother from another mother. Big brother Vee! Social media has truly blessed the startup community, I run 2 companies, one distributing wine and another in the medical services line. Both been around since the early 2000s and getting better & stronger every day, having over a hundred staff that "feed" off me on the daily can be mentally exhausting(in a good way), this show keeps my mind and focus where it needs to be. Gary: my biggest take away, "getting real with who you are NOT who you aspire to be". After a 25 year career for a traditional retail dept. store, I want to break away and jump in to an innovation co. and figure out what I can bring to the party. OMG! This is so true!! I don't have contact with my mom anymore, because she brings a lot of negative energy to my life. And she's been doing so since my childhood already. The only thing that pisses me off is that this man gives so much value and no one ever gives the credit or recommendation to him that he deserves. If I had heard his name more often with the proper senteces like "thank you Gary" or "I couldn't have done it with out Gary" I would have been deep inside all his content sooner. Honestly. If you want to make it to the top then you will, but that has to be your goal. What you eat sleep and breathe, is just making it to the top. For me, my goal is to make it doing what I enjoy and not working for a company. I don’t know exactly what it is yet, but I’ve started to scratch the service in editing my videos and creating something on my RU-vid channel. But I’m also the biggest obstacle in my way. I literally lack belief in myself and no long ago I’ve told myself how much I just hate myself. Being aware of this, makes me feel so inadequate and that I don’t have what it takes to make it. I wish I could have someone to just kick me in the face and tell me to knock it off every day. Give me advice on how to do this, then maybe I can make it places.

Here Gary talks about switching out the time you spend with people who are a negative influence, and a positive influence on you. I heard him reference this in another video and say that you get taken in the direction of the sum of your 5 greatest influences, and that some of those can be influences from a distance, not people you know in person. I'm planning to test that thesis. Has anyone else tried that? For example consuming video, podcast, and books by people like Gary that we want to be/think like? (still authentic to us, but in a mindset/attitude way)

Self awareness really should be step #1 in figuring out what you want to do. It takes patience and is a process. But make it a major focus. It would be a shame to devote 20 years to something you realized you didn't really want or enjoy because you didn't give it enough thought on the front end.

How do you know which areas you just need to work on more versus being sucky at it because it's not in your 'DNA'? I'm interested in a lot of areas such as psychology and mental health, writing, acting, dancing, drawing, and just recently realized public speaking can also be my thing. I love figuring out how people think, figure out what connects us to each other, figure out what most people's worries are and create something that ultimately, we're all similar to each other and are common in a lot of areas that we think we are. Maybe create something that just generally fuels more empathy in others? I know I want to create something like that but I don't know which artistic endeavor I should focus on

I started documenting my life (vlog name - JUST FUCKING DO IT) bcoz of GV on Nov 24th by literally posting on Facebook as a Life event. Doing 5-10 stories bcoz of GV on Facebook, Insta, Whatsapp, Snapchat. Creating weekly videos for my vlog bcoz of GV with already on 21st vlog. I've got an awesome guy with me who keeps following me everywhere. I've got a graphics guy and Adobe After Effects guy bcoz of GV to make sure we post within the Instagram Stories arena. I've literally got a Film maker to make sure we create great stories to grow my travel business brand. IT'S LITERALLY A FILM PRODUCTION COMPANY RUNNING ALONGSIDE A PROPER BUSINESS. ALL BCOZ OF THIS FUCKER. BEST THING IS I ALREADY HAVE IMMENSE EXPERIENCE IN FILMMAKING WHICH HELPS SO MUCH. LIFE'S SO FUCKING DIFFERENT AND I'M OUTWORKING MYSELF EVERYDAY (SOON to outwork GV as well :P)

Because I know I can tell good stories. And nothing like talking about the journey. And I've got my strengths in the creative space to put out good content over time. And I'm running a business in parallel that I wanna shoot up to crazy heights in next 5-8 years. Plus i know personal brand works big time. Plus i know people wont cry when billgates dies and did cry when steve jobs did, coz he had the EQ connect with people. so just trying to create the eq connect in next 50 years.

You just explained why you think you are fit to make videos. Many people can not explain why they do what they do its problematic. Can't stop wont quit never could never would. My best friend passed away last June from I've drug use complications. It was hard for me but he had this tattoo on his arms that he got in reference to his drug use. So I got the same tattoo on my legs and rather than talking about drug use it's my promise to him that I won't quite working and I can't stop living my promise not to take my life and to continue our plan to be insanely successfull
