I got one around mid-March 2023 in Canada and I don't have that throttle issue. I can go slower or faster but what disappointed me was that I have the speed limiter unlocked so I can get up to 45kph but only without pedal assist. As soon as I pedal the speed gets reduced to 25 kph therefore less distance per charge and, more charges on the battery! Second, I only got about 30 km on my first charge, that was one thing that really disappointed me because I was expecting 100-150km, as they claimed. Third, my odometer restarts from zero every time I shut it off and restart it again, that's another thing I find very problematic

@@ussimaki It's a fun riding bike but yeah, those RU-vidrs don't tell you much you can go by. Me being from Canada, the T1 was the only one available in my country but to my surprise also the only one where I can actually start slow and speed up as I wish where as the others ones, that were not available in all countries, goes from stop to full power with no in between acceleration. It's also been a year since I got it so perhaps it's changed too...

Great review. Dutch company sells Samsung inr21700-50s a 35 amp 5000 mah for around 7 euro when you buy 10 and cheaper again if you buy more. Lists as 72 grams per cell So bank of 13 cells gives 48v (nominal) 5 ah battery. So 20 ah 48 v requires 52 cells that’s roughly 350 euro. Plus add cost of build , BMS and wrapping I’m sure one ( if they have the ability) can build a battery for around 400 euro. Forgot to mention 750 w motor of t1 will require a maximum of 20 amps. In fact the controller is rated for 25 amps. So 35 a cells should be ample. Did a quick check on 18650 and they typically weigh 50 grams and at 2600 mah would require 78 cells so roughly same weight for cells. Only conclusion I can come to is the battery casing etc is a lot heavier than other e bike battery casings.

Just an update to this video. Fiido actually have solved some concerns here by sending out the new replacement bike which has Hydraulic brakes. Much better but then they included a controller which limits the speed to 15mph. I was able to replace it with the old one which gives the faster speed. Also there is a different cadence sensor which gives smoother acceleration. By the way, the replacement brake callipers shown in the video dramatically broke both front and back at the same time - the 1st week of frost caused metal expansion and the hydraulic flied leaked out. I put back on the old brakes. The semi-hydraulic were a great idea but not too well made. I had no incentive to repair them as I feel you would be doing it again after a few months... I guess if you got the same design of brake from Shimano it would be a good idea but at a higher cost . .

After about 2500 miles the battery is holding up pretty much as when it was new. I have it transferred to the replacement bike that Fiido sent. But it's still too heavy as a battery. Fiido should make a half size battery with less weight. That way you could bring it with you for a longer trip while using only it to buzz around town. Overall the bike is still a bit heavy though likeable. But now I see there are bikes with 32AH batteries and the amazing Annioki bike with its 60 AH battery, - the bike weighs in at 112 lbs(the battery being 33lbs). So its not that much heavier but I expect it to deliver 60 - 70 miles realistically. So things have moved on a bit.

Thanks for your educational experience and resources and support and explaining exactly how well this cargo bicycle performs and I've also been comparing fiido e-bike bike to the rad runner bicycle and the fiido e-bike is a great bicycle and the battery is definitely something to consider the rad runners are more expensive and this fiido e-bike is a great price for the features and it is well built as far as the battery goes a lot of the other newer e-bikes have up grad battery's without adding an other battery lots of choices this fiido e-bike says you can get 95 miles on on charge and the tires are something to consider you can get different tires so when the original tires and battery on the fiido e-bike wears out you can just upgrade the battery and tires and on the front basket I would probably add something to the bottom of the basket and I haven't seen anything on the rear baskets for the fiido e-bike and the saddle bags or nice but rear rack would work out better because its much more sufficient for cargo and I've texted the fiido company and I haven't gotten any response from them on any of my questions still looking for answers thanks for your opinion. God-bless.

I took the sticker off my battery for aesthetic reasons...but I saved it and stuck it on my charger. Mine did come with the 21700 cells. I always get more than 50 miles per charge in PAS2. I'll rebuild the battery when it quits and reuse the battery case. That way I can pick the cells I want.

Hi, First, check if you have a new revised generation of the T1 or the original. You are aware that the last month has seen some of the original T1 bikes with a frame structure problem? If you have just received the bike from Fiido (mid Nov) then you may have a revised design. There are some videos showing this replacement design. I see that the revised display is interchangeable and might solve the throttle problem. You can send an email to Fiido to ask about this. The Eggtimer display would be a very good way to solve this problem but I asked the manufacturers and they tell me it is not yet compatible with the T1. Other than replacing the display the best way to solve is to open the controller and wire in a switch --> Pos A is unchanged, pos B has added resistors to put a limit on the power.

@stevemccormack9948
@stevemccormack9948 Год назад
So, the cruise control was on the original bike - not the revised one, it's gone with the new display which is better. I never had any use for it as I like to pedal and a slight touch of the brakes cut it out. I forgot it was on the bike. But as I explained elsewhere it has a slower characteristic. Other than that, the new bike is lovely with hydraulic brakes etc. I would advise people only to buy it with the intention of changing out the controller with a third party controller and display. I recommend the Phase Runner from Grin Electric. Superb but an expensive item.

The bike looks great and very practical to be doing lots of errands. As they sell them in Europe I assume they are fully legal and certified. My understandings is that to remain compliant as an ebike the speed needs to be restricted to 25km/hr, or is there anything else to be aware of? Thanks for the help.
@stevemccormack9948
@stevemccormack9948 Год назад
That is what I understand, a lot of EU countries need the bike limited to 25kph(about 14mph). In truth I think a limit of just a little higher would be fine. In PAS level 2 the T1 does 30kph(18mph). That's actually quite fast. I never used any higher. But the new T1 has a limit to 15mph. Really quite annoying and that is why I no longer recommend this bike because unfortunately if you tried to order the old type of controller to modify the speed, I think Fiido might not supply it.

Yes I already did a video about this. With exposure to heavy rain, you are likely to get D2 flashing and no power to motor etc. In my case it dried out in a few hours. But if you look around the controller case area under the battery you will see gaping holes front and back where wires enter. These need to be filled. I recommend a hot glue gun. You can get them cheaply from any hardware, plug it in and let it heat up then stuff the holes thoroughly. The glue solidifies in about 60 seconds. Fiido have not paid enough attention to this.

hi steve another question i unlocked my T1 and it doesn't improve the speed when peddling in pas2 does unlocking improve the speed in throttle mode only
@stevemccormack9948
@stevemccormack9948 Год назад
Correct, the new T1 unfortunately only allows the bike to go over 14mph if you stop peddling. Which is ok but nothing as exciting as original T1. Notice its still good to go up hills. At any rate I don't care as I already have the controller ripped out and am replacing it with 3rd party. The factory fitted T1 controller has a software limit I think embedded(maybe it's set by hardware but I doubt it). So fitting the new controller does away with that kill-joy limit. But it has a new display of its own and I need to mount it elsewhere on the bike as it's big. It won't fit under the battery as its much bigger and more powerful. I thin it will go under the wooden rack.

Please, can you tell me which bag you have on the back rack ?
@stevemccormack9948
@stevemccormack9948 Год назад
Its actually just a standard clip-on bag you get in a regular bike shop. It does not properly fit as the metal of the carrier frame of the T1 is too thick. But I managed to keep it on by pinning it under the wood structure. In general the T1 bike does not take clip-on carrier bags. They should have made it with thinner tubing.

@@robski1078 Yes, I believe the replacement bikes are coming with a 250W motor. This is a bit of a mess as you have to change out the rear wheel which in turn means cutting the wires inside the controller box and rejoining them.
