Man I love my m3k a lot. I love the battery, the UI, the control, the Tron like design and the memory capacity supporting up to 2tb which is scary for an MP3 player that size. I love it's *secret feature where you can change the song using the volume control whilst the screen is off.* You're welcome if you own a m3k.

I've got one of these and I absolutely love it. High volume - unlike Sony Walkmans and iPods - high def audio ability, microSD support and, as you say, a 3.5cm earphone port. All for 60 of our British pounds. I honestly do believe the FiiO M3K is the best bargain on the DAP market. FUCK YOU APPLE!!!

I don't know why but M3Ks have JUMPED in price on EBay. The same M3K I bought for $45 is now going for $375 on EBay. Whyyyyyy????

I have this DAP. I installed rockbox firmware. Now it sounds even great. EQ and other sound mods in rockbox firmware made this dap even more valuable.

Great video 👍 I've been looking for a decent dedicated music player, using the quad dac on my LG phones is great but notifications and calls are annoying at times. Definitely will look into the m3k as an option after this video, thanks!

This is the DAP that I use! I'm no audiophile but I do try a bit, so it's good to get reassurance that this was a good choice to buy! Apart from a now-fixed horrible software glitch I had, I've had few issues with it although it does do a few weird things sometimes, like restarting midway through a song, but I'm used to it and don't find it very bothersome. Thanks for the video and I think you've got another subscriber on your hands!

I use my Fiio m7 most of the time , but prices gone up recently. This m3k also went up also . But this week I spotted on Amazon that the M7 now back to £130. And this M3k back to 60. I have ordered it.

Nice review Matron, Fiio do make some very impressive black background little devices, I have had the btr5 for a couple of years and use it for quite a few of my headphines balanced such as my daily Sennheiser 6xx's 300 ohm which balanced with extra voktage and mw sound fantastic. I actually think they sound as good as when using my hipdac, nice review of that as well BTW.

Been carrying one of these around with me for a while now, but couldnt ever get comfortable with the touch controls. Found it again today and decided I'd give installing rockbox a go. Turns out rockbox has a few tweaks done to the touch controls that vastly improve it. The scroll pad now also functions as basic up/down buttons for fine control.

Hello, Thanks for your entertaining positive description of the M3K. I'm on the fence about entering the hi res world, but this seems like a good price point to jump in the pool. Do you know if the Fiio interacts well with Mac's? I'd be transferring flac files from an Imac. Thanks very much. Geoffrey

If you have made your CDs into flac files hope you did so without any compression or volume normalization there are options where you make a clean copy of the CD

However, you can also buy a dac for iphone from another manufacturer that you connect to the lighting connection. which supports 24 bit and 192 khz. but if you want to listen to DSD I think you must have something other than an iphone. note you may also need a usb adapter

A friend of mine owns the m15, stout little thing, it can drive even 600 ohm headphones, as long as you have a balanced cable for those, and it can handle 200 something bit flak

However, I am more interested in a budget-friendly DAP player that supports apps and has wifi. you know streaming apps have offline mode for subscribers and I want hi-res and it is not on a regular CD. The closest you can get is for example sony album which says super bit mapping. So 20 bit quality to 16 bit data. Other record companies had similar ones

With the mention of the Fiio M11 for balanced output, there ARE cheaper options with decent balanced output. I picked up the HiBY R3 Pro for the equivalent of 150 pounds and it powers my HD6XX with balanced 2.5mm cable just fine.

BT audio is handy for background music in a doctors waiting room or elevators. Not for me though.

Let me tell you. i purchased this. But it broke 4 months later, and wouldn't turn on. Then they gave me a new one. but this one broke 3 months later. However, this time, it turns on, but the sound doesn't work. It is a crackling sound. I will never buy Fiio products. I am too scared about the future of them.

I mean I could just buy an adapter instead of hundreds on another device. Also, flac files are a huge waste of space for anything but archival purposes. Also, your phone has a do not disturb mode. Also, offline mode is a thing. Also a lot of headphones have media controls so you don't have to take your phone out of your pocket. I doubt this thing sounds better than my phone.

a more expensive DAC will bring you "a bigger soundstage" yeah another one of that guys. You shall read the emperors new clothes please and think about it.
