Thank you Mark for wearing our Bula shirts. It was an honor meeting you and your family on your trip to Fiji. Thank you for showcasing our culture and culinary to the world.
I didn't know the shirt was specific to Fiji. I called it cruise wear wear. I apologize. No disrespect. I love Mark's channel because you always learn new things.
What got me hooked on Mark and his other food youtuber friends isn't the expensive food. Expensive eating is common in youtube. What got me is Mark sitting outside the street and eating cheap street foods. The surprise is that human society, where you go, there is good food. The local street vendor down the street is unique. Culture and people are unique elements that can be cherished and loved. And Mark Wiens came a long way to spread this message.
My wife and I honeymooned in Fiji in March 1994 and we loved every minute of it, the people, the food, the weather, the sea, the country and we are looking forward to going back for our 30th anniverssary!
Love how Mark went to the different parts of Fiji to explore and unpack different foods that make up our small island 💯 From in land, to the towns/cities, to the islands 🤌🏾🤍🩵🇫🇯
would have been nice if there were more..Episode 1 was all Coconut milk, Episode 2 was all Curry, and this one is a bit of both. How bout the underground lovo and other foods
@@PP-tuga come on.. you think the ladies in the market paid that much to advertise their food? It’s the markert…hundreds and thousands of people go to the markert everyday, she don’t need to show her product .. and plus he came to FIJI!! He has to try local food…so far it’s just seafood in coconut milk and loads of curry…first day he had the runs due to all the coconut milk, next day his arse is on fire with all the curry lol
@PacifikaGodz off course, not the ladies in the market, but everyone else .... Will pay , don't get me wrong but youtube is a business and Mark is a trade Mark so is all about that MONEY
it's a Fijian and Indian fusion, theres a lot more Fijian food not shown here like how people in the interior regions cook in bamboo and the different plants, animals from the forests and rivers.
I’m amazed how good our Fijian sisters and brothers are at cooking Indian… feeling so proud of my heritage 🇫🇯 … I’m so grateful I was born in Fiji and my ancestors decided to make Fiji their home
They are Indian who are come Fiji island many year ago they are going to any country I don't know exact but they started living in Gigi island pacific Ocean I think in British empire back in india
@VatanBajwa they are Fijian. But Fiji have a great Indian population and the cuisine and lifestyle have intertwined thus many non Indians can cook Indian food. Fijis cuisine includes Fijian, Indian, Chinese, and European... all major part of the population since colonization
Mark, thank you for giving us a glimpse of life on the Fijian islands… it’s so beautiful! I may never get there, but thru your videos I get to see it, savor the foods & marvel at the kind, gracious people of Fiji 🇫🇯
Loving your Fiji and Australian videos Mark, so happy you have highlighted such incredible and sustainable destinations. Your happy disposition is infectious and your description of the food makes me hungry everytime 👍
I remember when he had less than 100,000! That is about when I started watching him. Then, along came Mikey Chen and I love his also. I don't miss a single one from either of them (they have even done some colab vids in the past). *To clarify, I don't know which of them began making vids first, the point I was trying to make was that I didn't 'find' Mikey until after I had been watching Mark for awhile.
I have always wanted to go to Fiji and try the food, lay on the beach and just relax. It looks absolutely gorgeous 😍😍 thank you Mark for sharing your videos with us.
You always gotta appreciate Mark exploring these beautiful countries around the world to give us a glance how different cultures prep their way of cooking.#Still waiting on that "Mark Memoir" should definitely be a good read for sure.👌🏼
Yay! Thank you for visiting beautiful Fiji 🇫🇯 My parents are from Fiji and watching this video with my husband and kids has inspired us to visit the beautiful island. The videos has excited our little ones so much. Super excited to plan our visit. We appreciate you for sharing the true beauty of Fiji.
Mica has a wonderful life learning experience. As a last home educator, I wish we could have done this for our youngest son. He graduated at university with a masters degree in medieval languages and literature though x
standing ovation to chef Jackson so awesome him leaving the ship to prepare that delicious meal, enjoyed the cruise thankyou for sharing Mark, Andhy, Ying and Micah
despite the uncooperative weather, Chef Jackson managed to create a delightful Fijian meal spread. The cool breeze adds a refreshing touch to the atmosphere. I can almost smell the aroma of the grilled fish infused with lemongrass, chilies, and lime juice. Squeezing that lemon and adding some chilies must have enhanced the flavors even more. It's great to see you enjoying the firm and fresh fish. The heart-shaped fish reminds me of the beautiful Table Island. The marinated fish in coconut milk with cucumbers, tomatoes, and coriander sounds heavenly. The Fijian technique of tenderizing the fish with lemon juice before cooking it in coconut milk is a brilliant idea. It must have created a perfect balance of flavors. And the dish with octopus cooked in coconut milk sounds equally enticing. The smoky flavor and tenderness of the octopus make it even more delightful. The addition of onions adds a lovely touch to the dish. The seaweed cakes made from fresh seaweed from the nearby Asawas are intriguing. The natural gelatinous texture and the combination of salinity from the seaweed and sweetness from the coconut cream must have created a unique and rich experience. And let's not forget the fish head soup with lemongrass. The gingery broth with vegetables sounds like the perfect soup for the weather you're experiencing. It's incredible to see Chef Jackson's culinary skills at work, preparing a prawn curry for the upcoming lunch buffet. The anticipation is building, and I'm sure the curry buffet will be a feast to remember. Enjoy the rest of your cruise, savoring more delicious food and embracing the beautiful surroundings of Makongai Bay. Bon appétit!
Mark: three cheers for this video! I have been following you for years & this video, for me, a foodie for 55 years, was super. Firstly, I really liked your 2 different blue island shirts. A great change from yourr boring green t-shirt! Secondly, the venue, editing & scenery was super. I've been to numerous south pacific islands but never Fiji! I'm not a cruise person but this 7 day cruise on this small ship was interesting! Of, course the Indian/Fijian fusion cooking is a big draw! I was wondering that why were there no other guests on the cruise? I only saw a crew member eating one meal! Great to see you scuba diving, yes those clams were enormous! Micah enjoyed this cruise a lot! If I come to Fiji , I will look up Captain Cook Cruises & your guide, Andy!
He definitely knows you... whole bowl.. He knows dad loves the heat. Thank you for sharing your adventures and beautiful family. Its been great watching you and your family grow over the years. Maybe a beautiful baby girl one day. Blessings
Mark is just great. His endless energy to describe food quality, texture while eating the same is just amazing. Keep enthralling us with your commentary on various foods.
He has come so far....Nearly 10 million subscribers now...I remember him reaching almost a million...When he used to wear that t-shirt,that said "I only travel for FOOD"💘💖
The worse thing to do is watch Mark eat all this yummy food whilst you’re on an empty stomach. Keep up the good work Mark. Sorry I missed you when you visited Sydney.
The Fiji food are simple and their staple food cassava just like ours here in the central part of Mindanao, Philippines.. There are so many similarities like using coconut milk, as expected because of the abundance of coconuts here.. Thank you for sharing this paradise island of Fiji.. From: Unforgettable Mae 🇸🇽🇸🇽🇸🇽🇸🇽Philippines
OMG when Micah said you want the whole bowl of chilis and dumped them on your plate. That was adorable and so cute. He knows you well. LOL. He is so adorable and a mini you for sure!
omg, Micah is getting so big! I remember when he was just a little baby being carried around. And now he's holding up a whale bone. My heart is so happy that he's getting to experience all these cool places and cultures as a kid. I am more than determined to do a trip around the world with my two.. eating good food along the way.
Loving the food and the culture thanks for sharing very information blessed love to all knowledge is power hopefully everyone pays attention keep up the good work 🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲
"I'm just gonna eat the shell and all"🙂😆(prawns)that's straight Fijian..thank you for this wonderful video of our beautiful Fiji n lovely dishes n delicacies 🤍
He did not. Here in Fiji its off season for most resorts hence less visitors. Another thing he travelled to the least visited region in Fiji. If he was in the Western side then you should expect more people to be on the same cruise.
@@emosijougavule2561😂 funny but brutal, they don’t know, I didn’t either. My first thought was, it’s not a popular cruise, or he’s getting preferential treatment .
One of the main reasons I really appreciate Mark Wiens for and why I watch him, is how he describes each flavor profile. Without even having tried these foods myself, but knowing how most of these ingredients already taste and smell, I can almost taste the food he's describing in such detail.
That food looks fresh and tasty. Mark, you look handsome in your cruise wear. Micah is helpful, and he knows what his dad likes to eat. Cute. A young, accomplished traveler is emerging.
Fabulous video of the surroundings and all that delicious food was so fun to watch! Thanks so much for sharing! Your son looks like he will be tall as you as fast as he seems to be growing. You are so blessed with a beautiful family!
Absolutely love how you get straight right in there with your hands to eat the food wherever you are. I mean forks and knives were later inventions anyway. 👌
Yes great video. Fiji is beautiful. Thank you soooooo much for explaining about the seaweed "pie". I was googling seaweed "cake". I'm going to make it ASAP.
Marks food channel is by far the best on RU-vid. It looks so much like a proper cooking channel you see on your TV which are done with the best equipment and technology, and big budgets. Great entertainment, love watching. Cheers.
im speechless. just wooooow. i myself is an international student here in Fiji and I'm always following Mark's feeds. im amazed with how beautiful this land is and I wish I could explore Fiji that much. someday! but maaaan...God bless this land 🥰🥰🥰🥰
