This is so awesome. Making customized/stylized forms is such a fantastic way to impress clients, site users, and of course makes info gathering more specific and utilitarian. Thank you as always!!
That's a great question! There isn't an option for that inside Squarespace right now, but you can use a unicode character inside the custom placeholder text field. Here is a list of common unicode characters compatible with Squarespace: insidethesquare.co/unicode
I've been waiting for this feature!!! one question tho, How Do I add this upload form to my product page? I don't see it under "Custom Forms" in the check out pannel. thank you in advance :)
Unfortunately Squarespace only related this for form blocks, so we can't add it to a custom product form, which would be SO useful for so many Squarespacers!! Hopefully we will get this field added to product forms someday. 🤞🤞
@@InsideTheSquare The "SQS-form uploader" is a third-party plugin, but it often breaks. Whenever it does, we are reliant on them to fix it. maybe Squarespace can Impliment something similar? that works?
Hi Becca, thank you very much for this tutorial that came just when we wanted to invite users to send us their pictures. But... where does this upload go? Will I find the uploaded pictures just randomly added to my Squarespace library? Do I set a notification for it, so I know there was a file uploaded? Or do I set a destination where I want to receive the uploaded pictures, e.g. an email address? I never used forms other than a simple Newsletter signup, and an enquiry form (that indeed links to an email address) so maybe it's clear to everyone, but I am struggling to understand where the upload will go.
It depends on the storage option you've chosen for your form. * Contacts panel storage: Click the link in the form submission details to download the file * Emailed responses: Click the link in the email to download the file * Google, Zapier, or Mailchimp : Copy and paste the URL to download the file Check out this official Squarespace support article for more info: support.squarespace.com/hc/en-us/articles/205814018-Form-fields-explained#toc-file-upload
@@InsideTheSquare Thank you, Becca. I realised I would easily find out if I tested it 😊and the upload arrived directly in the email address linked to my Squarespace account. But I realise there are more setting options as here summarised by you, that I never looked into. Thank you for the link, I will give it a closer look. And thank you for the CSS to further style this upload form because, without the custom styling, it looks a little incoherent!
Great question! It depends on what you selected for your form storage. Here is an official Sqsp support article with more info: support.squarespace.com/hc/en-us/articles/205814018-Form-fields-explained#toc-file-upload
You can use the selectors from this tutorial to change the font size, just make sure you use !important so the browser picks up on your code. You can learn more at insidethesquare.co/learn
