FileZilla is great, been using it for years now, just the free one though, it does the job what i need to do, transfer large files over the network without plugging unplugging a hard drive, makes it much more easy and convenient 👍

can I convert the computer to a server so I can enter its IP address and port to another computer that has filezilla on it?

No, you can't. You need to set up an FTP Server.

hi, can I transfer the email backup using FileZilla?

FileZilla is content-agnostic, if the backup contains files you can transfer them.

Please help, I am trying to transfer files to a server but FileZilla can't list any of the directories on my computer

Find this unuseful. The tutorial does not explain what I need to know. For example, should I use server when I am uploading files to a Web site. Or, can my one computer be server and client? Und do I need to download both, FileZilla for Client and FileZilla for server. I finally get the Manager window up, but the external file side of the screen is not 'active.' How do I get remote files 'active'? What do I have to do to find out if my fire wall prevents connection to a server?

If you're trying to upload your files to a Web site you need your hosting provider to provide you with an FTP/FTPS server. While you can install a server on your own computer, that will never help you to transfer files on another computer. You might want to install a server on your computer if you want to allow others to access your files, though. Finally you need to connect to a server if you want it to show up in the Site Manager.
