i really wanna get one for my long distance best friend, she's 3 hours behind me, so when i'm awake for school (around 6am) it's 3am for her and she's sometimes still awake drawing, so i could tap it to tell her to get to sleep lol. or just when i can't sleep tap out the beat to our favorite song

My daughter and her best friend have these. We are in Kentucky and her friend is in New York in college. Its a sweet feeling when we walk by her room and the lamp is glowing her friends color. And she in return glows her own color back. A very very nice gift for loved ones who live far away. Im planning on getting a few sets for me and my sisters.

You can set a fade time of 30 mins, 1.5 hours, 8 hours, or 24 hours by configuring your lamp's settings at manager.filimin.com

Do you ever experience a lot of delay with them? When you touch it does the other one instantly turn green or does it take a while

I'd love to get it for myself and my long-distance boyfriend, who lives in Vermont, while I live in Ireland. I really wanted to teach my boo Morse code to use it, so that I can finally have some comfort when I get 3am panic attacks. But you said that it requires an app group. Does that mean the lamps have to be in the same house or country to work? ;~;

No I think you just both have to have the app downloaded and put both of you in a group. I don't think it matters what country or household you're in. Although I don't think it would work with morse code sadly. It seems if one person were to touch their lamp multiple times it would stay the same colour and wouldn't change at all. I think it only changes when the other person touches their lamp.

This is so cool! quick question though, do you have to order them together? my friend and and i live over 2,000 miles apart, and I'm iffy about having them both sent to me to program them together, then having to send the other one to my friend myself. just wondering! :-)

maggie rose no you don’t have to buy them together! Have your friend buy one and you buy one. Then you just hook it to WiFi and make sure you guys are in the same “group” then they will link together and work :) best of luck! I love mine.

Hey girl! Awesome&informative video. When I download the app, do I and /or anyone else with the lamp need to keep the app downloaded in my/our phone forever? Or can I uninstall it once I'm done setting my lamp?

I emailed Filimin, here's what I was told when I asked the same question: Great question! When setting up the Filimin light you are not required to download any type of app, instead, you are directed to our webpage for the setup process, so you should have no worries about having to keep an app downloaded to your phone or computer, you are also not required to stay logged in your account when using the Filimin, once your Filimin is successfully connected to your wifi network, you won't have to get into your account again unless you would like to change the settings or wifi network.

Yes you set up an account together and you can pick your own color, so when your daughter touches the lamp, it’ll turn her color inside your home ❤️

After about two weeks mine started blinking a white flash of a light about every 30 seconds and wouldnt stop. It kep us up all night. I had to unplug it this morning. What is going on?

What if i connect it to my phone's wifi? Whenever i'm home. Will it work? And i'm 8 and half hours ahead of my friend's time

You can connect the lamp to a hotspot! However, if it will only be able to connect to your hotspot while you're at home, at all other times it will be offline and will need to reconnect when you return. If you get a touch from a loved one, it will only register if your lamp is online.

@@wakeshma3375 There are two setup options! For those who'd rather not go through setup on another device, they can use a bridge unit to connect directly to their Wi-Fi by plugging it into the router and having it complete the setup for them. You do not need a bridge to connect, however!

I can’t always pick up the phone and call my mom for hours. Especially when I am studying or writing a 12 page essay. It’s still nice to have a connection with her by touching the lamp, so she knows I am thinking of her in that moment.

Well, right now I, a 53-year-old, am having fun vying for dominance of the Filimins with my eight-year-old granddaughter across the country, and two more households are joining the battle soon. This doesn't serve the same purpose as phones and isn't meant to. It's one more little way for people to interact and show that they're thinking of each other, and a lot of people think it's great.
