I love the ergonomic file. It’s really helps make filing around my cuticles easier.

I love those orange buffing blocks too! I find they're just easier to work with on myself.

I may need that glass file your cuticle area looks awesome! I need more practice prevent lifting I’ve tried getting the cuticle area a little better but may need to try that blue cross stuff! Just binge watched your other videos in the playlist 👀

Just make sure you’re cleansing your nails really well after using the blue cross remover. It can definitely leave a residue that promotes lifting.

honestly the bane of my existence is that I end up filing off the color around the edges of my nails and I spend another 20 minutes fixing it and having issues after I've already activated it 😭 I don't have a clear powder to put over it cause they're already so expensive and I'm losing it I stg 😵‍💫

Ordered the Ergo file. Can’t wait. Do you remember what color dip you used here? The link isn’t working or me.

I can’t remember the name, but it was by Modelones. They sent me a kit to try.

My thumbs are my pain in the butt nails. No matter how much time I take or if I wipe off the excess on the side of my thumb nails, I still flood them or they turn out like I have a bump on the sides. Do you have any tips or suggestions?

Thank you for the video. I'm new to dip and trying to learn as much as possible. I have a few questions. I noticed you only used a file to shape the sides of your nail and not on the top surface (to smooth). Do you just not think any filing on the top surface is necessary? I've just seen people either efiling or using a file with around a 180 grit (I think). Also, for buffers I usually see the white block kind. Do you just prefer this smaller orange kind? Just looking to gain as much education as possible. Thank you

Filing on the top is necessary if there’s excess bulk or lumps in the nail. If you’re happy with the thickness, then all you have to do is smooth out the top with a buffing block. I absolutely love these orange buffing blocks. They come in a pack of 126, so I use one block for 1-2 manis and then toss it. This way I’m always using a fresh buffing block for each mani, and if I’m doing someone else’s nails, I have plenty on hand.

How do you clean your glass files? Thanks!
@CaroleAnnette
@CaroleAnnette 3 года назад
I use a nail brush and dust them off. Then I use rubbing alcohol to wipe them clean.

I did dip nails for the first time yesterday- they came out ok but weren't shiny after 2 layers of top coat. Any suggestions?

How do you prevent your nails from cracking? Mine crack the next day 😭
@CaroleAnnette
@CaroleAnnette 2 года назад
Making sure you have enough layers of dip. Also, it could be either the dip powder or the liquids causing the cracking. Some dips don’t have enough acrylic powder to help ensure they bond well with the liquids.

I’m doing my nails today and don’t have these blocks. Can I use one of those 4 sided buffing block this time?

Or I have an electronic file that has a buffing attachment

Yes you totally can 🥰 your technique may be different than mine since you’re using different tools. But it all gets the job done

So, at the beginning, you said you activated and then filed and at the end after all the filing you said you were going to activate. Which comes first activating or filing?
@CaroleAnnette
@CaroleAnnette Год назад
Both. You have to activate it twice. ☺️ Once before filing the nails. And again after you’re done filing.

Hi! I feel like I am following the steps, but my manicure still comes out gritty looking. I file like crazy until it’s completely smooth and then after applying the top coat it become gritty.
@CaroleAnnette
@CaroleAnnette Год назад
It could be the powder that’s the problem. Are you using the same powder each mani!

These tips are so good but your cuticles look sore, especially on your ring finger. Are they ok?

I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong. When I buff the surface of my nail, the color on my buffing block rubs off onto the dip powder and ruins the color. Am I not using enough activator?
@CaroleAnnette
@CaroleAnnette 3 года назад
You may need to change buffing blocks. I’ve had this happen and it’s just because the buffing block sucks. There are my favorite and the color doesn’t come off onto my nails: amzn.to/2WmRi1H
