You get more financial support, thus help in being able to train better and achieve the bottom line--more income and better play. Naomi Osaka did the same even though U.S where she actually lived is even richer than Japan, but she'll be competing in a crowded place with other excellent tennis players compared to Japan where she is pretty much the only one--more advertising money for her... it's like saying why do OFW choose to work abroad instead of working in the Philippines and help the country grow--duh more money in their personal pocket and nothing to do with patriotism...
