Filipino food is underrated, so many good dishes like sisig, calderetta, machado, adobo, lumpia, palabok, bbq, tortang talong, etc… I’m not even Filipino but I used to live in south San Francisco and they got banger Filipino food out there

If you haven't been already, there's Tabachoy, and Perla in South Philly. More high end and has wider clientele. Honorable mention is Reyta's in a Cherry Hill which is as traditional as you can get but you also get the sitdown setting.

You, sir, have a stronger palate than most. Out of all that stuff, the pancit palabok is gonna be very easy on the gringo/American palate. Salmon sinigang is probably next easiest, but some folks just don't like vinegar, and that's okay. But most americans are not at all gonna be about bitter melon, and they DEFINITELY don't want dinuguan once they learn it's full of pork blood.

I only eat digunuan (chocolate meat) if my dad cooks it. Pork butt with cow tripe in a pressure cooker with lots of ginger and lemon grass. It's the lemon grass that makes it flavorful. I loved it with cleaned pig small intestines back in the day. Now you can't find it where it doesn't smell bad.

I'm not that familiar with Phillipino cuisine, i've only had pansit and tasted sinigang soup. I love bitter melon too, but i'm used to the Chinese way with fermented black bean sauce, beef and onions. Enjoy the weekend !! ❤

I decided to order myself via doordash some shrimp 🍤 fried rice, red beans 🫘 and rice 🍚 I am from Louisiana currently residing in Texas for 24+ years once I separated from the Navy in 2000. I also ordered banana 🍌 pudding from the same restaurant but they don't put bananas in their pudding 😲😳.
