I love Philippines I love being a Filipino even though I'm a pure blooded Indonesian but I was born and grew up in Philippines. I love and admire Filipinos for being strong and dedicated.
The reason most judges turn on the high notes is because they need to see how flexible your range is. Low parts are some of the best parts but high is really the hardest ones to hit.
Kristen Gregory Yeah, that makes some sense, but there are times that the singer begins with a high note (it's the first note they hit), and she immediately turns her chair, without having heard anything else. And btw, it's mostly Jessie that J does that, not the rest of the judges.
Traveling around East Asia (particularly karaoke bars), it's been my experience that the Philippines produces an inordinate amount of very talented singers. Many of the best that I've heard were from there.
Stop hating on him because of his appearance, Nationality, accent or voice. It's unbecoming and just rude. Not picking a fight but just listen to his amazing voice and accept that he's got talent! If you don't like it click off it no one's forcing you to watch him.
This makes me so proud to be a FILIPINO! Such amazing talent. Being married to an american and having my own family, I will always been so happy to know that there are people who emerged victorious despite COLOR, RELIGION and RACE.
Well, I think why Filipinos are good at singing since jamming here in ph is kind of mainstream. Like when someone brings a guitar, and the whole group would start singing. Also, Karaoke is definitely a thing here. xD Not all can sing. I mean, just look at me.
The phillipenes seems to be a musical hothouse, when I lived in Malaysia every single bar singer and band were decent and most from the phillipenes. Best luck to you! And a big fuck you to the racists ;)
buzzingtalk You should listen to freddy aguilar, a filipino singer whos most famous song (Anak) had been translated in over 40 countries. Hes one of the very few asians whos made it that far. :D
I dont think that will is being racist, he is saying that his friend is from philippine so is he says all of that is because maybe his friend told him that thoose food are amazing in their country. He wasnt laughing wasnt racist at all.
sombrike did someone mention Will as being racist ? from the comments below i'm guessing ? i dont see will as being racist there and im Filipino pure. never even crossed my mind that he was being racists at any moment in the video. Will knows very well that these things warms filipino hearts because its not too often that we hear foreigners familiar with our food, a bit of our language, or our talents. we are more offended with foreign NEWS organizations coming into the Philippines knowing nothing except to write news of our shanty towns and negative areas.
sombrike The Philippines itself is the single most racist country in the world, plus the food is absolutely tastless crap. I lived there for 9 years too long.
Tommy Rocket oh yah.. right2... and where are you from? You definitely are acting like a racist now. And you think philippines is the single most racist country eh? Our food is crap? Oh. I wonder what you have been eating whenyou have lived there like you say. Crap.
All the people that are having negative comments haha they have no talent !!! YOU ARE GIFTED !!! Never look down on someone unless your helping them up....in this case a truly amazing talent !!! amazing !! love this voice, a gift from god ! a treasure for Britain !
What Tom proposed was spot on, but I wonder if Joseph chose him because he also said that Filipinos are amazing singers... Idk, I have no problem with it but I just notice that they pull out the nationality card a few times.
I think it's because so many Filipinos are talented (amazing vocal range) and Tom Jones said he felt this passion in his voice , he said something quite true.
Not really... as a Filipino myself... and a singer... You actually know the right coach for you based on your voice quality, genre, range etc... well obviously Joseph loves the classic and he's a balladeer. He knows that Tom will be able to help him more... (I think people who can actually sing will agree.)
Mahlia Rizon Not really... As a singer, I feel Joseph's need to be on the side of Tom. I am an old soul and so as Joseph. The type of songs he sings are very much like what Sir Tom Jones would sing in his performances. Though I love Jessie J. if given a chance to work with a legend like Sir Tom Jones, I would take my chance too coz he is experience is wider and I could learn more from him because he's been well respected all throughout his career. A very reliable talent to be a mentor.
I'm Filipino I'm proud to be.. don't dare to challenge the pinoys or your gonna regret you were even born.. three stars and a sun our flag represent.. three islands Luzon visayas Mindanao.. god bless pilipinas.:)
chester fegidero I'm trying to make sense of your sentence... so far, I have "you have your own secrets and not all secrets means food"? What secrets (that Filipinos have) are you talking about???
My name is Claire, Filipino.. or Pinay. 12. I'm amazed how Filipinos have alot of talents. I cried ... Of being so proud. I love to watch the other countries shows, But! I REALLY LOVE HOW FILIPINOS JUST BLOWS THEIR MINDS. :)
here in Philippines his voice is just an ordinary . but still can compete to this kind of competetion. .the only problem is those who possess extra ordinary voice from the philippines cannot join in a world competition as well as like this because of they dont have enough money for this .!! most of the filipinos showcase their talents through local competition or in youtube and facebook :) . . !!
I checked the dictionary and the definition of " ordinary" does not match your use of it. That singer is not ordinary, not even in the Philippines. Lol
Im am from philippine and i live in Malaysia...Philippine people can a win a battle anytime anywhere.. proud to you boy..Wish you luck all the best..!!. Im proud to be a filipina, Because of this kind of kababayan..!!
Sure, the dude has an amazing voice! But to those people who comments "hey! i'm a filipino too! And he is! We're somewhat connected!" Well for fuck sake, you can comment that type of feedback if a certain reward is given and represented your whole country. Unlike this guy. He sang and auditioned not because for his country. But to show his talent. I'm tired of all these crap that I've been seeing for A Hundred TIMES and for the record I'm not exaggerating! And for those who says 'if you have nothing nice to say then keep it to yourself.' Well this is just my opinion and I wanted to let it out because I'm getting annoyed.
Maegan You're right. I'm a filipino too, but it's not like we were the one auditioning there. I am slightly annoyed but, I think they're just proud. Let them be. 😂
Lol @ proud to be Pinoys. You guys do not realize that this is his INDIVIDUAL accomplishment and not COLLECTIVE one so it wasn’t really the entire Filipino nation who won or gained acclaim but just the individual himself. When you say you are “Proud to be a Filipino”, it means that you are proud of the achievements of the collective group of people who comprise Philippine society and/or identity. Where were you guys when there's a pinoy rapist or just a random loser on TV? lol. You and even I can say I admire Charice Pempengco etc but I will not force my association with her and claim her pride as my own by throwing in something we have in common by accident of our birth. For one to be proud to be a Filipino, The Philippines should be a progressive country through the cooperative efforts of its own people. I give credits where it's due and Joseph is commendable. I'm proud of him not because he's pinoy like me, but cause he's amazing! :P
When are people gonna stop defining them by their accent :/ its not the accent that tells if you are a filipino or british you know :/ I know joseph and he is a filipino....... accent can easily be learned by any race
Ravinder Singh well if you ask me. i have seen a lot of talents with filipino blood but was born and raised in other countries and when they were interviewed and they never mentioned their origin "Philippines" then yeah i wouldn't jump in and say they are filipinos. but Joseph actually did say he came from the Philippines. he wasn't born to a British couple but filipino couple. he was raised in the UK for most of his life hence the accent.
Ravinder Singh Good grief, what is your problem he said he is "Filipino" so what if he has a "British" accent? I am in Canada and I am "Filipina" does that mean I cannot say I am "Filipina", because I have a "Canadian" accent eh?
What is in the lumpia, man?! I have never heard a Filipino singer do anything but KILL it! That was absolutely beautiful... Lovely. I'd buy his CD today!!!!!
I hate this version of the voice. These judges have no ear for talent. The sheer amount of good talent they've turned around while the judges themselves have mediocre talent at best is criminal.
