As someone who grew up in the American South with a ton of Mexican influence it’s so awesome to see the similarities yet uniqueness the Phillipino food has to ours! I grew up on Mexican pan dulce, Chicharones with lime juice and salt, pimento cheese sandwiches with pickles! I love how food brings us together and also let’s our uniqueness shine!

Milo is a big thing in New Zealand, so I was shocked when I found out recently how big it is in the Philippines.

Milo is hardly exclusive to Philippines, New Zealand, or even the Pacific (though it originated in Australia). It’s also very popular in South America and Africa. Though you can find it in the US, Canada, and Europe, it’s not as popular or easily found.

It is popular in the Philippines I'd say because they marketed it well. In the 90s we have Milo trucks go to our school to give us free Milo drinks. Also, other than that they do summer sports for kids.

I used to be cabin crew for Emirates airlines and have visited Manila so many times! Gosh I really miss the dried mango snacks and there was this really soft round cakes that literally melt in ur mouth but I forget the name! Am I the only Filipino that doesn’t like Filipino snacks? Like I’d rather Japanese or Korean snacks. Filipino snacks are so dry. I love Sweet Corn tho lol. Congrats on a million!
