Though her beautiful rendition of the song, I bought her albums many years ago, and she gave me education in to opera singer and music, I watched Maria calas movie of her life on flight to Ghana, like verali four seasons, the music inspires you and it transcends all colours and genres... Is singing and music, it's only human thing we have... 👏 So bravo Fillppa keep on keeping on 🎶 singing, forget the so called elite.. They no nothing... 👏 👏.
Makes me laugh all these negative comments because people think it has to be sung a certain way. It sounds great, that’s what music is about. Put away your rule books and relax. Singing came before the rule books.

Have you Heard Freddie Mercury with the Princess.... Montserrat Cabelle .... Barcelona... What a beautiful piece of music.... Both were blackballed.... I'm not a fan of opera, and I was surprised. Strangely it seems to me that people who are considered the intellectual elite leave vulgar comments, which are typical of the lower classes of society. Perhaps Filippa Giordano is really not Maria Calas but with his way of singing, approaching the opera, even those who previously did not listen.

***** I have heard many renditions of this by 'real' opera singers and loved them. I like Renee Flemings version especially and I think Maria Callas also recorded Casta Diva but this by Filippa Giordano was just so different and unusual. Generally, I do prefer listening to classical music and singing just as it was intended and nowadays so many pieces are rearranged for different voices and instruments. Not much of that works for me but this piece by Filippa did and I am sure that Bellini would have been enchanted.

I like this. Her studio version is better, but she has murdered this live on one occasion. I can understand why opera lovers hate it. I can recognise that Maria Callas is in a different league, although there is something about her voice that doesn't quite appeal to me. This is the same with other older performances, but Renee Fleming's version is good, and Anna Netrebko's contemporary version, for me, is sublime.

Nobody will convince me to consider this performance good. My ears literally turned into a pipe from the first minutes of performance to the last note.

Holy crap - they just destroyed Casta Diva. Yes she has a beautiful voice BUT NOT FOR THIS - If I had been present at that concert and had rotten tomatoes, they would have landed on her face, except being a gentleman as I am, I would have just booed big time. Thumbs down.
