Love this inspiration. When I was in kindergarten I drew a picture of my dream. It had a yellow ladder. I was so excited to show my picture. But my teacher said I hadn’t followed direction and actually punished me. We have to remember that creative art needs a free spirit. Thank you for all you do to encourage artists to follow their creative instincts.

Crazymaker. I also had negative experiences with "teachers." They really aren't teachers at all if they are behaving this way. While I'm sure a great deal of time has passed since this occurrence, never let anyone dull your shine

That is an amazing sketchbook page!! 🥰 I love the tree!! 🌳 We use cheap napkins because my family used napkins(my dad used a cloth one), and my husband's family used paper towels, lol!! 😂 I wrote a series of short stories in 5th grade about traveling to different planets. They all had different colored grass, trees, and sky. Eventually, my teacher had enough of the same story with different colors! 🌈 Every story had a drawing on it of what the planet looked like. ROFL!! 🤣

We used to be napkin people but since we always have paper towels on hand, we just started using them as napkins. ~ Sketchbook spread is so cute. Love fall! 🍁 ~ I would totally buy a “left handed problem” sticker for my dad. 😂

I'd prefer if you didn't cut the drawing process out. If you need to pare down the time, cut out the face-to-face conversations. It's nice when that is a voice over and we can still watch your process.

Thanks for your input. I value your feedback, and have received requests for both more and less, so it’s conflicting. I have been intentionally incorporating more face to face time into my channel so I have the freedom to change directions sometimes and form a deeper connection with people. My channel name doesn’t include “art” in it so I don’t have to have the entire focus be on drawing. Understandable that not everyone likes it though, and I respect that! :)

Hi Mira I love this! You are an inspiration to me I started drawing again after years of not drawing from pressure to sell for me it’s Therapy and I love the process. I want to Thank you though your encouragement is why I started drawing again, in 2019 I almost lost my life after being hit twice in an accident in front of my daughters school. I had three brain bleeds and I was afraid to draw but your encouragement and you just being you gave me inspiration to start to draw again. I LOVE the tree!! And, we’ve used cloth napkins for years! Wash and reuse, one less thing to get at the grocery store and they last for years.

I collected SO many acorns as a kid. And not just acorns, I also collected rocks, flower petals, sticks, slugs (yes I know) and whatever else I could find. So much fun!

My sisters and I go on this fall trip every year to this pumpkin train as well as this farm that has a pumpkin patch and a corn maze that sells pumpkin bars and scotcheroos with apple cider. We stay at this cute bnb farm while we're there and it's just such a wonderful time! ❤

My son is a "South Paw" as my Grandpa use to call left handed people. He's pretty ambidextrous, but plays left hand guitar. Hard to find those. He has re-strung right hand guitars for left hand player use. He writes inspirational quotes or deep thoughts on some of his guitars. I bet he'd like a Left hand problems sticker for his right hand guitar😂 Love the spread today. My Fav is the tree. Lots of love to you Mira & happy Fall!

This was so fun 😄🧡 Definitely need to do a fall spread in my sketchbook after watching this 🍄🍂 I grew up using paper towels, but my grandma has always used napkins. Now that I’m 30 I do a combination, I love using cute napkins for dinner, but use paper towels for everything else 😊

I loved this spread. I am a fall lover, just for the cooler temperatures gets me in my own hibernation mood. I switch hobbies to cozier ones and bust out the throw blankets. Winter is nice as well. Cross fingers for a good snowy winter in the SW

@MiraByler crochet is the best and cross stitching. Both are stationary activities, so you can bundle up with a cup of tea and just let the hook n needle drone out the stress. While listening to books, movies or music. Right now, I am binge watching Trigun and other 90s anime

I love beets too, they are highly underrated! Yep, teachers/family would tell me grass is green, sky is blue, and purple elephants don't exist! I grew up with paper napkins, cloth dishtowels, no papertowels. I can't function without having paper towels in the kitchen, and we buy paper napkins sometimes, but not always.

I did creep on your older videos when I first found you last year 😂 now I feel creepy 😂😂😂 I love when you do folk artsy art. The hair tree is cool! And the leaf, dragonfly, moth and the mushroom house.... Beautiful and so cute! In Aus we don't celebrate halloween like over where you are. And so as we start going into spring I get torn between your fall and our spring for art inspiration and that's conflicting and feels funny. I don't like halloween either but because of being a christian and all that goes with that. As a kid I loved colour so even though the sky had to be blue, the sun was red, yellow and orange haha. The flowers were multicoloured and the water was 3 shades of blue. My eldest son colours everything multi coloured and I love it!

Fall isn't that big in the UK, I think it's getting better for decorations now though. I have been doing some fall and Halloween themed drawings, I did a boo page with loads of ghosts 👻 in my journal. I just love the fall colours, it feels warm and cosy

Hi Mira, you asked what we've been doing for Autumn. Well while watching your video I was Stitching a Mushroom Decoration & it's now complete by the end of your video. I'm currently working on a Fox in a Red cape & hat, yesterday I finished another mini bear. But I have Yet to make a Rain Hood for Bear & yesterday evening I was Drawing Fungi . Oh not to forget that I finish all my hand sewing of my 8 Christmas Fall Felt Mugs, I've chipmunks with acorns on ONE Mushrooms & Flowers on another, Foxes on another, Robin with mushrooms, an Owl with a Mug of Hot chocolate on . Not to mention A Dog chewing on a Christmas hat with Two Bears in Christmas hats, 1 with a microscope googles & exploding Jar & last but not least a Moth with Flowers.

I used to get in trouble for writing with my left hand when I was in kindergarten and then when I would write with my right as to not get in trouble my handwriting would be really bad. So then I would get dinged on my writing cause it was so bad cause I was using the wrong hand.

I do agree that a sketchbook is a great place to practice. Every mistake is a happy accident here. Absolutely. Now, I enjoy drawing but I am not brave. I mostly draw what I see. Today, or maybe this weekend, I will practice freehand drawing. I'll do it with my ten-year-old daughter and see what comes of it. Thank you for your beautiful inspiration

"A sketchbook is just a place for opportunity" 🩷🩷 I used to be so afraid of sketchbooks but you've completely inspired me and I love how free I feel when I open my sketchbook. When I was younger I was definitely criticized for my art and sense of style. I had to learn to not care and just be me 🩷

I love the spooky side of the Autumn season, so I LOVE this spread. 🍂👻🍁🍄‍🟫🎃🍄 I used to collect as many acorns as I could out of my grandparents’ yard and then my Grammy would pay me 5¢ per acorn. I eventually got to be too good at it that she dropped it to 1¢ haha (Also, how is there no acorn emoji?!) I think I may collect some now just for funsies! 🥰 Oooooh and some of those little itty bitty pinecones too!

I love the unintentional autumn theme! Gorgeous colors. The tree and dragonfly are my favorites. I can't wait for the cooler temps here in the swamp heat of Florida! To answer a question... we are a paper towel household. They are versatile and it just doesn't seem necessary to buy napkins as well (although I grew up with dinner napkins).

When I was a kid I'd think outside the box with colors all the time. I had fun mixing up the colors, and my mom embraced the chaos after asking questions to be sure I knew what the colors should be. School took that from me. It made me conform. Then tried to get me to think outside the box! 😂 so i was terrified to think outside the box after being forced to change my ways at first. 😆 to this day its a struggle to be free. 😂❤

I love your "fill a sketchbook" videos. I suffer from chronic art block and always love the inspiration they give. Also, I'd love to see some old sketchbook tours! Those videos are actually how I originally found you and I loved just watching you flip through them and talking about everything. I lost all my old sketchbooks years ago in a move so I miss being able to flip though mine myself and now live vicariously though others xD

I think I said the word “creeped” and probably meant to say checked. My intention was definitely not to make people feel like they were being creepy! Sorry! Sometimes when all the lights and camera are on it’s hard to come up with the right words, and I probably didn’t catch it while editing! That’s my fault 😅
