id love to see the lyrics and translation! Im Mexican lol so a whole other culture but I find gaelic language and folklore to have such a magical, powerful beauty. Love!
I found about this song through James Blake but I always come back to this song it’s such a beautiful piece of music. Does this happen to be an original piece?
Hi Valerie, I'm really keen to hear your take on what James did with your music. What are your thoughts on sampling and how does it feel to have a relatively obscure song brought back into the modern consciousness? I have to say your singing is really beautiful and i hope you are still creating today.
Hi Paul, thanks so much for your interest. Yes I have to say I'm all for sampling, and I think the melody really gives a great hook to James song, Barefoot in the Park.its also given me a new enthusiasm for my singing and playing. I recorded an album i"Time has Told me "in 2011 after many years of not singing at all, but James Blake sampling Fil Fil a Run O has got me all fired up again with my traditional roots. Hence I have re recorded the song recently and the new version is available on Itunes and Spotify. I also shot a video of me NOW 48 years later, minus the baby face and knee socks! Check out the new version, and thank you for your lovely comments.
@@valeriearmstrong7093 Cheers Valerie, also may I ask how you first heard you were being sampled? it must have been quite a surprise. That's really great that this has inspired you a little to create more. I checked out the new version on Spotify and your voice sounds excellent! You and Enya have have a lot in common (see Fugees - Ready or Not) ;-)
