LLS @2:07 the kid drinking his juice or milk cracks me up, he looks at the girl like hes interested. but the whole time saying, "yeah, this crazy bitch puts in waaaaaay too many hours obsessing over bullshit. now the REAL tragedy would be if we ran outta strawberry milk then told we're an animated crime drama, but ok...whatever bitch"
22:41 This speech is the one Rian Johnson needs to hear! Switch out book with movie, change some of the excuse, and you've got yourself a perfect parable for how Rian Johnson misunderstood the Star Wars characters in the Last Jedi and accordingly disrespect dedicated Star Wars fans and the Star Wars saga itself with a terrible movie.
My view on The Last Jedi is that it’s a great movie, but I’m not gonna protest against someone who thinks it was too different from what Star Wars should be because they’re entitled to have their opinion. I appreciated that it was challenging and was able to forgive its flaws. I’m glad it mostly wasn’t predictable, but I can understand others thinking the lack of familiarity was a pitfall.
I thought the Last Jedi was good. I mean people hated Empire Strikes Back when it released and it was the best film in the original trilogy, if not the franchise. I love that they took risks, humanized Luke Skywalker by having him deal with failure, and passed the torch onto the next generation. Yeah it has issues, but so did Empire.
Not many people remember that this was explicitly mimmicking a YA author of the 90s/early 2000s who among other things sued her fans for creating fanfiction of her characters.
