3 years ago the Pats gave him $12.5 million per year. The Fins are now paying him $4.2 million per year coming off his best statistical season- in his prime.
Happy for a fellow FIU panther. Never got to play with since I'm much older but finally Miami brings a panther home. Should've drafted TY back when he came out but good to see a panther continue his career!
I like this move too with how limited our picks are in the draft. I wasn't really sold on Jatavian from Texas, and it seemed like he might be too hard to pass up in the 2nd round...now we can focus that pick on the Center from West Virginia, Cooper Beebe, or whoever is the best DT available(if we don't cover that in the first round because all of the OL get taken before our pick)
LB and DL. Cam Smith was drafted last year to play. Miami don't really play DE but rather edge/OLBs but they are injured so they need place holders to play half a season
Ryder, as always, great breakdown. The pros: our opponents will have to respect the TE position, which they did not last year. He is athletic and he can get those extra yards. He will help us in short yardage situations whether running or passing, especially in the endzone. The cons: if he is not Tua's 1st read, he may not be effective in the the passing game. The other QB was making plays with his legs and finding Smith open. That is not really a strength of Tua. Ultimately, if we can give defenses something to think about, our passing game will be more effective. I love Durham Smythe, but he is an upgrade.
I like him but I don't think he comes cheap. Pats gave him a 4 year 50 mil contract then, I guess, he got traded to the Falcons and he played on like 8.5 mil last year then released by Falcons after having about his best season. I don't see where we sign him for anything less than 7 mil. We should have other priorities than putting an expensive 4th TE on the roster after Smythe, Hill and Conner. Maybe they will make more moves to shut me up. lol Hopefully soon.
I think its still a possibility but the only reason I'm not feeling that is because of the limited draft picks. I feel like the sweet spot is the 3-4 rounds for TE, so unless the fins trade back my guess is they don't take a TE.
I'm okay with him as backup. But we need a big time starter at TE. We have to stop accepting mediocrity at TE position. Draft a TE. Sanders Sinott or Johnson.
@@douglasanderson5516 that's what you guys get wrong. You blame Tua for a system that's set up by coaches. It's based on a line that lacks physicality. But somehow it all comes back to Tua. Hill ceiling is maybe a#2 TE. We have to stop accepting mediocrity. We need to start go big or go home.
