Honestly I don’t think it’s going to matter. McDaniel and Grier aren’t fooling me any more. Look at the playcalling in the last five games and the points scored. They knew this whole time how trash the line was and is
@@izaiahdamato318 I mean between letting both your starting o linemen go and drafting a fcking guy with no sacks in the first round when guys like Graham Barron were available and he knows his qb is injury prone just makes 0 sense. Idc how many times he says we’re more worried about it than he is
Usually the Dolphins score pretty well against the Ravens Defense which is what they Play now in Seattle & he goes against in practice in Miami with the D coordinator being also from Baltimore so this combined with being so early in the season with Skyler playing all of preseason he should be very prepared for this game for what its worth
If we get a full game like that first drive he had vs the Viking in ‘22 that got killed by flags (and he doesn’t get injured) we will be in good shape.
The first throw to Achane was nice but Achane is ALWAYS. a good option and often the only option working in our favor right now. Editorial note: Can we get an Achane breakdown. That would be a lot more fun to watch. I'd give him the ball on every play if I could. Eventually, the o-line and tight ends will run a play where they all make a decent block, and he's gonna break it. I watched another review of the game where the guy was grading the o-line play but listed the results of plays he wasnt showing and the most often result he mentioned was Achane for 15 (or more) yards. Achane Rocks!
Ryder, Chris Perkins of Sun Sentinel, echoed what I asked. When will these star players, rise up and not only play better but help those around them play better. Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle, have to make Skylar look better than what he really is. We see that often when Gardner Minshew. Not a very accurate QB, but he stays around because he can put the ball in the "circle" that the WR can make a play on the ball. So Hill & Waddle, got to make more plays on the ball. And, the rest of the cast, QUIT DROPPING THE BALL! I didn't realize it, but, in the play where Tua got his concussion, the play before, I think it was Julian Hill, who dropped an easy catch in the endzone. Julian Hill catches that, not only is a a TD, but it's also no concussion for Tua. So Julian Hill needs to get his share of the blame there. You got to catch those passes! Stop with the drops! The drops have to especially stop with Skylar. Skylar's confidence needs to be built, so the WRs, TEs and RBs, have to catch those easy passes. Fins Up!
The play calling isn’t doing anybody any favors either. McDaniel is focused on trying to trick defenses into thinking it’s a run and then pass or vice versa. Every pivotal down that game he was calling passes out of run personnel with both your star receivers in the sideline. And when they were on the field it was just screens or run plays out of pass personnel. Jonnu Smith catches that pass. Waddle catches that pass that bounced off dubose and Hill gets to the right spot at the right time instead of Chosen. This shit been suspect since last year last 3 games
Lets not forget, the Bills had a #2 defense in 22', but Vikings 30th. Two years later, lets hope Skylar and the offense can get us back in the W column. After all, Tua and the offense looked terrible in week 1 & 2.
Meanwhile, Tua had 420 passing yards, 3 TDs, 0 Ints, 62.5% completion percentage, 111.5 passer rating, and was 1-1 vs that 2nd-ranked BUF defense in 2022. Skylar was 18/45 (42.5% comp) 1 TD, 2 Ints, and had a 45 passer rating vs BUF in the WC game. Stop the BS. Tua is on another level compared to Skylar. It's the facts. Also, Tua has 33-20 record as a starter and when he's under center, Miami had one of the most explosive and efficient offenses in the NFL, including being ranked top-6 the past two years, including the #1 offense. Frankly, I believe Tyler Huntley is better than Skylar and gives us a better chance to win than Skylar. Y'all gotta stop making stuff up.
@@andrewbailey9453I was just talking about 2022. I was comparing Tua and Skylar vs. BUF in 2022, the #2 ranked D that season, and Tua was obviously better, which was the point of my reply to this gentleman. Other than 2022, Tua has been subpar against Buffalo in his career, I won't disagree. And yes, Tua is better than Skylar Thompson and Tyler Huntley.
Worst pass-blocking grades in the NFL: Ryder. How does Skyler overcome bad pass protection? Will it limit offense? Limit scheme? Solutions? 1. Los Angeles Rams (29.2) 2. Seattle Seahawks (53.3) 3. Miami Dolphins (54.7) 4. New England Patriots (54.7) 5. Atlanta Falcons (56.0)
I think the only reason huntley isnt starting is bc the game is in seattle and he only has a couple days to get prepped. If Skylar plays more than 1 game this season it will be a travesty. Can't lose the locker room when youve invested so much into this year
Ryder, imho, one HUGE aspect that will help Skylar out, will be, Coach McDaniel, not only running more but, the obvious...GETTING IN THE PLAY FASTER! Skylar Thompson could be a Matt Moore in the making. Will he be a starter. NO. Will he win you a couple of regular season games in a pinch. YES. This is where we will really see, how good Coach McDaniel is. Will he roll back the playbook, and take the pressure off Skylar, and have more creative run plays that they always practice? Will Coach McDaniel scheme plays where Skylar runs more?
Seattle will probably focus on shutting down the run, thus forcing Skylar to beat them with his arm. Mcdaniel should script a few passing plays early, plays that have a high percentage chance of being completed. A few pass completions early in the game should give Skylar some confidence, this should open up the running game. Also it goes without saying the defense has to play well and not allow the Dolphins to fall behind early.
Well i think Skylar can be the best QB to ever hand the ball off hahahaha!. Seriously its not going to matter who the QB is because that O-line is blocking air
If Skylar Thompson plays poorly , both Mike McDaniel and Darrell Bevel should be on the " Hot Seat " . Dolfans have been sold the idea of Mike McDaniel being an offensive genius and that Tua is only as good as the players around , well , Tua injury has removed him from the equation . Now , fans will find if Mike McDaniel is an offensive genius , that is , if he can get Skylar Thompson to match Tua's production with Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle . Dolfans have heard over and over again that Tua is overrated , and depends on Hill and Waddle to look good . If that is the case , then Skylar Thompson should also benefit from playing with Hill and Waddle and produce Tua like numbers . But if for some reason Skylar Thompson doesn't produce Tua like numbers with Hill and Waddle how should that to be interpreted ? Remember , Skylar Thompson has spend his entire career in Mike McDaniel system so if Skylar Thompson fart and it smells like eggs it's because he is eating the garbage McDaniel is serving . Dolphins lose to the Seahawks in a " Blowout " !
@@TeamAmericaWorldPolice I respectfully disagree with you , Mike McDaniel should be , if he already isn't . I don't understand why Dolfans hold Mike McDaniel in such high regard . Truth be told he hasn't proven to be an offensive genius . Time and time again , Buffalo Head coach Sean McDermott has out coached Mike McDaniel and the majority of the time the games were not close .
@@terryholmes1609spot on!! McDaniel is not a genius. Hes a gimmick coach that cant even get the most out of his gimmick bag. Cant adjust, no time clock management. Believes best way to utilize his speed is to throw ball to hill 2 yards behind line of scrimmage and Tyreek going to blaze downfield 😂😂😂 this is NFL, that might work in college, not in pros. You utilize speed going deep. Oh, but wait, no QB to throw 55 plus yards that dont float. Dont forget soft arm tackling defense who said in camp "we going to play bullyball" 😂😂😂
@@johnalmaguer7118 Sean McDermott is destroying Mike McDaniel . This past game McDermott defense held both Waddle and Hill too less than fifty ( 50) yards with Tua in the game and shut the Dolphins out the second half . Mike McDaniel is not a offensive genius !
not like the offense can be much worse its been bad in these first 2 games. Is it just me or this offense looked extremely dumbed down this year. Looks like they run the same 3 plays.
Tua isn't a runner but Skylar totally is - Just watch this film for the huge holes that develop as a matter of course in front Skylar before he gets the ball off! If he's allowed to stop limiting himself to Tua's 'hand it off or throw it'' game to play his own 'hand it off, throw it, or run it myself' game taking advantage of the wide open spaces waiting in front of him that's going to be at least 8 yards a pop, and won't allow linebackers to focus on coverage the moment they see the ball hasn't been handed to a running back. The Dolphins run & passing game as they are plus a quarterback who can opportunistically do either should freak defenses out for the short term at least.
I mean if you meant it that Skylar is more of a running threat and he's slightly more mobile than Tua then yeah. Skylar isn't a super athlete, so let's not get carried away.
It the coach and the players actually show that they believe in Skylar. We will be good. I always liked Skylar over Tua, he just doesn’t have the backing like Tua, they set him up to fail, because they want to protect Tua’s fragile ego, just like his fragile body.
@@jasonstarr6107 Brian Flores proved his ego is fragile, also the way HC Mike baby him, also the FACT they won’t sign a real legitimate threat as his backup to really challenge him proves what I stated. Now excuse yourself from this conversation with your sensitive self, just like your QB Tua can’t even throw the ball away pick 6 throwing self.
Who are all these people, including this 'Ryder McConville', when they say 'I think the Dolphins could win a few games with Skylar?! He's the 2nd string QB. I'll say this: Tua wasn't 'all that' whatsoever. What did he do? He under-threw practically every deep pass even though some were completed. I said years ago that he'll continue to be susceptible to concussions and he was not the answer for the team even if he were perfectly healthy and durable. So when unqualified people state that Skylar has 'negatives'...everybody does. IF McDaniel calls the offense in a way to showcase Thompson's strengths, and #19 gets some confidence accumulated, he could surprise a lot of folks.
