I have the Nikkor 135mm f3.5Q lens for my Nikon F and it is my favorite street lens. I never felt it was not sharp. I don't know if Nikon made your MF lens to the same specs though. Being an auto lens, focus would snap in quickly since it focused at f3.5 until you pressed the shutter release. Thats why I liked it for street since I could focus quickly.
Hi Robert. I'm super busy right now with work because food costs money . Hahaha. But I have some new vintage very interest cameras on the way here . I have a D500 video waiting to go up and a D300 video waiting . Just need to edit them .
I stopped by to visit after seeing your review of the Nikkor 50mm for the S2A. I like XP2, but haven't used it enough to get a real sense for the dynamic range of the film. My S2A should be here on Tuesday with the 75mm Nikkor attached. It will get a roll of XP2 run through it to test everything. I'll probably add the 50mm to the kit immediately and am thinking about either the 135mm Nikkor or the 150mm Zenzanon. I've read that the Nikkor lenses are a little better than the Zenzanon lenses, but you know how that goes. Nice video and the frames look fine at this screen size. Did you do any pixel-peeping at the scans?
Right now I scan with my D810 and the micro 105 2.8 vr g . I'm hoping for a epson v850 by this fall and a darkroom with an enlarger . The scans you see are only 25 or 30 percent of what the negatives hold fir detail . That is before the social media hack up further . Take a strong magnifying glass and look at the negatives . You will then notice the medium format detail . I stick with Nikkor glass. I have the 50 75 105 135 200 with the leaf shutter for flash sync full shutter range . The 40D is in the cart waiting for funds to magically appear . Also the 400 600 800 1200 dream quartet that I can also use on my F with the focus tube change . That's my s2a bronica goal .
@@daveruskphotography I should be able to setup a jig to scan negatives with either the D800E or my X-T5. I bought the D800E several years ago, found that I didn't really care for the digital SLR experience anymore and didn't want to deal with the 36MB files produced by the sensor for my applications. But I have a nice collection of 35mm Nikkor glass that I like to shoot via adapters on my digital cameras. And I have a couple of Nikon bodies for film that will get more love when I get home from this roadtrip. I've bought the Nikkor 50mm and 135mm lenses for the S2A and they should arrive in a few days. The S2A is hungup in shipping with the bad weather in the Midwest. I think that Nikon built a 40mm lens for the S2A before Bronica took over production of their lens line. The Nikkors seem to be fairly rare, though. Good luck with your flatbed scanner search. Enjoy the photography as well. :)
