Lester figuring out the nail gun clue ranks #2 Wire scenes for me after the "Fuck" scene in Season 1.

the "F" scene, is by FAR the best... imo anyway...

You have to remember, the reason Marlo was able to get the word out easily to the youth that Randy was a snitch is because he has given the kids money. He's probably done that several times now and has a direct line to the kids in that area in Baltimore City.

I love how Naymond refers to Duq as a "At-Risk Child" when like, all four of them are so far beyond at-risk it's literally not even funny.

Carcetti making the departments of the city actually make some improvements within the city (do what they get paid to do) is one of my favorite Carcetti moments. It's just a massive pet the dog moment for the city itself and I love it. This is a big Carcetti episode in general as the following last two episodes will cement his character trajectory. That school system deficit reveal though...chile. And be on the look out for the individuals who oversee the budget for the schools. Everything is truly connected and the picture just gets more clearer and clearer. While the previous three seasons are great at showing how much of an ecosystem Baltimore is I think 4 does it the best.

The kids getting even on Officer Walker has more than avfew shades of the van being packed to Brisbane back in season 2. It ends up working because it plays right into both Walker and Valchek's senses of pride. Walker has to sell it up as being a gang thing because he can't get back at them and risk further humiliation. McNulty sees through that, though. Burrell here shows he's actually good at his job, it's just that his job isn't policing.
@monadreher2428
@monadreher2428 4 месяца назад
It's also a deliberate contrast of the core four getting back at their rivals for jumping one of their own back at the start of the season. When the times for them were lighter and the hijinks they got into were more fairly innocent compared to now. Officer Walker can die but what they did was very dangerous and this time instead of piss balloons we have an actual gun being brought into the mix. Times are changing, the boys are changing and this was just a prelude to what comes next for all of them. I don't think it's a coincidence at all that this episode is the last time we see all four boys together.

Better than the sopranos no debate. More realistic, more unique, and aged better. Both classics tho

Absolutely no debate imo. The Wire isn't even a character driven show like The Sopranos and yet it still manages to give massive depth to ALL of it's main characters (a list that beats out The Sopranos not for nothing) even to the point of recontextualizing some of them and even the smaller characters in The Wire are quite interesting or stand out in some way. I can name at least thirty characters on The Wire that I think are the best (and even thirty might be a small number for a show like The Wire) whereas with The Sopranos I could never do such a thing 😂

Not sure if you’re familiar with LM Reactions, but they reacted to The Wire.The actor who played Bodie (J.D. Williams) watched their reactions and used to comment every once in a while. It was pretty cool. Who would you love to see pop up in your comments??

Bro, you don't understand what your saying. Carver handed Randy over to Herc It was Carver responsibility to get him to Bunk not Herc. Herc is selfish, he doing dumb shit to cover his dumb shit. Who knows him better than his former partner. Herc really has a stolen camera that he got under false pretenses.
@chidiumeh

No. It was Herc's responsibility to take Randy to Bunk after they'd finished interviewing him.

I'll challenge your comment that The Sopranos has greater attention to detail. For example, in this very episode you see Ziggy's car that was burned and abandoned by Cheese in S2 being towed away as part of Carcetti's demands to clean up the city. It's a blink-and-you'll-miss-it moment, like many moments on The Wire but it demonstrates how well the show meticulous and detail-oriented this show is especially given its broad scope.
@FrenchieQc
@FrenchieQc 4 месяца назад
It might be Ziggy's car, but the location seems different. In S2, it's on a street where both sides are lined up with buildings, and here when it gets towed, there's an open view of the water in the distance.

Sorry bruh. Sopranos is GOATED. It ain't nothing to he angry about though, it ain't the greatest show ever made for nothing
@brazyfilmo3121
@brazyfilmo3121 4 месяца назад
@@tidepride86 this comment makes no sense. This is not someone getting angry. This is a friendly debate. The sopranos is goated we know that the wire is just on another level. More realistic,more unique and way more consistent. The sopranos is good but certain tropes don’t age well. The way they portrayed the blacks in season 2 was corny with that whole music thing they tried to do. It felt like some mtv skit. The vacation arc was pretty irrelevant to the story and extremely forgettable . Still a great show but the wire is still the superior. I wouldn’t even consider the sopranos the best in its own category. The Godfather is the superior of that whole mob category.

Sort out the snitching is simple, Randy got called in the principal office because he was the lookout at the bathroom scene. The principal threatened to call his foster mom, him not wanting to get in trouble Snitched to the principal and I quote, I know about a Murder, that got the ball rolling to investigate. Snitching is Snitching.
@monadreher2428
@monadreher2428 4 месяца назад
Snitching is snitching indeed but it's another complex component within "the game". Randy has told on his fellow students, which he clearly didn't like doing, but he's never sold out his friends which is why Michael chooses to back him up and states that he's not friends with a rat. Randy did talk but nothing he stated got anybody locked up or in trouble. Ironically if Randy hadn't been made a target then the conversation between Prez and Bunk and Lester very most likely wouldn't have happened. The reason this all happened in the first place is because he got caught up in a very bad situation. I don't know too many men, grown included, who wouldn't be shaking in their boots if they unwittingly got caught up in a crime as serious as someone claiming they were raped. He's a literal child. A whole thirteen year old. Also his circumstances. Other kids can afford to get in trouble and not worry about losing the place they call home. Randy...not so much clearly.
@BruceJohnson-om5kl

@@monadreher2428 what show are you watching, Randy opened the vacant houses. They thought the bodies were in the dirt until He won't face his own sh#t. Randy Snitched and said Lil Kev told him to tell Lex, then Herc picked him up, because Randy SAID so. For that Kev in a vacant. One thing has nothing to do with the other. You talking about a bathroom scene that only got them suspended. To a murder mystery because of who. Snitching is Snitching on the Street no explanation needed. Streets are Shoot first questions maybe. I know the Streets I ran them hard For 10 years 10 years locked. Not a good thing but a real one.
@monadreher2428
@monadreher2428 4 месяца назад
@@BruceJohnson-om5kl Bruh...if Randy wanted to really snitch he could've easily told Herc and Sydnor that Dukie showed him an actual body in a vacant. He didn't do that. He told them neighborhood talk. Telling about Lil Kevin is not on him. It's on Lil Kevin since he's the one who ran his mouth and told Randy what happened. Again this is a literal child and more importantly a child that's not a part of the game. It was already bad enough getting him involved but THEN telling him? C'mon now.
@BruceJohnson-om5kl
@BruceJohnson-om5kl 4 месяца назад
@@monadreher2428 because he's to young to think that far ahead. Excuse me Miss, I keep explaining to you I'm not a fool. The Snitching is not details, it's keep your mouth shut! Michael in the school didn't know the full story. He told Michael he was saying what everybody else was saying. That's a lie, and lies catch up to you. He spoke first hand knowledge it only became neighborhood talk after the fact. Where do you get that kind of thinking. Where ever you are, stay there and stay safe. It is on him, it's all on him. If you don't like hood shows, can't take what goes on in them, your better off not watching them. Because in all Cities, in low-income Housing Unemployment, Drugs and crooked Cops and people. Don't speak on a life you've never lived. Please don't text me anymore.✌🏿
