Film Study: How Malachi Corley played in the preseason for the New York Jets 

Corley is raw at the moment. He'll need the season to learn the NFL game (and run routes). Luckily for the Jets, he wont be relied on for a major contribution this year. If he balled out during training camp, he wouldnt be more than WR3 slot. With Gipson and Lazard on the roster, he can slowly grow into his role. His major strength is YAC so there should be some gadget plays to showcase that skill. If we had a better OC, I would feel like he could contribute sooner.

The only thing I like about this dude is he has slightly more muscle than other receivers.

I still can't believe we took Corley over Roman Wilson. Corley has always been a glorified running back and a fun trick player in college, but I've never seen anything from him to suggest he is NFL Caliber. The Jets have multiple running backs now that should be taking any screens or sweeps that Corley could get, so they don't even really have a position for him. I don't trust him to take anything beyond a checkdown because corners are literally just going to bully him. I think there is a very high chance he busts out of the NFL very quickly.

He's going to be a project for sure..

I haven't been impressed so far. I don't think he'll be a major contributor this year, but let's see the video. Maybe I'm way off base.

I see him as a lighter Jarvis Landry with not as good hands

I'd be worried if I were a Jets fan.
