00:52 🏈 *The Film Guy discusses the analysis of the offensive scheme that Alabama will adopt under coach Kalen DeBoer, focusing on the complexity of the run game and its potential impact on the SEC.* 03:36 🔄 *The offensive scheme involves misdirection plays like counter, truck sweep, pin and pull, and trap to manipulate and confuse defenses while setting up traditional zone concepts for successful runs.* 05:02 🔄 *The Film Guy highlights that Alabama is transitioning from a lineup-and-beat-you approach to a more complex and schematical offensive style under the new coaching staff.* 07:50 🏈 *The Film Guy discusses the importance of pre-snap motion, variety of personnel groupings, and multiple offensive concepts in the new offensive scheme.* 13:10 🔄 *The Film Guy analyzes an example of how the offensive coordinator designs plays to exploit defensive coverages and create favorable matchups for the offense.* 15:48 🏈 *A bold play call on a third-and-16 situation is highlighted, emphasizing the coach's willingness to take risks and the importance of having a skilled quarterback to execute such plays.* 17:39 🏈 *The success of offensive coordinators can reveal their belief in a player's abilities and skills.* 18:23 🏈 *Number four, a punt returner transferring to Alabama, is expected to get opportunities with the ball due to his exceptional skills.* 20:04 🏈 *Despite the reputation of fast-paced play, the highly diverse offense often takes its time with pre-snap work and window dressing to complicate defensive systems.* 21:00 🏈 *The team frequently uses motions and formations to create mismatches and exploit the number count in their favor.* 23:09 🏈 *The left tackle's ability to handle a defensive end on his own showcases his skills and athleticism.* 25:25 🏈 *The team's offense aims to force defenses to play with light boxes, creating favorable matchups for the offense.* 27:10 🏈 *Offensive coordinators focus on isolating and utilizing their best players in critical situations.* 30:45 🏈 *The team often takes aggressive shots downfield, emphasizing big plays over traditional play-calling for converting sticks.* 33:03 🏈 *Quarterbacks in the system need to have strong arms to make deep throws and execute complex plays.* 34:17 🏈 *Bunch formations are used to beat both man and zone coverages, creating favorable matchups and opportunities for the offense.* 35:26 🏈 *their offense has answers for various defensive coverages, adjusting routes based on zone or man coverage.* 36:29 🏈 *Pressure and disguising coverages are key to disrupting their offense, even though they have answers against most Zone coverages.* 38:36 🏈 *their offense is susceptible to pressure, and mixed coverages can stress their five-man protection scheme.* 39:43 🏈 *their offense excels at making subtle adjustments to counter defensive tactics and keep opponents on their toes.* 43:39 🏈 *Washington forces opponents to personnel match frequently, making in-game adjustments crucial for defensive success.* 45:30 🏈 *Quarterback play and concept execution are vital components of Washingtons's offensive success.* 50:14 🏈 *Washington's diverse run scheme keeps defensive linemen guessing and creates opportunities for offensive line advantage.* 52:46 🏈 *their offense uses strategic huddles, personnel changes, and motions to manipulate defenses and create advantageous matchups.* 53:44 🏈 *their offense operates with great continuity and timing, enabling quick decision-making by the quarterback.* 54:12 🏈 *In critical situations, their offense can gain significant yardage through well-executed plays, even against strong defenses.* 54:41 🏈 *Their diverse offensive playbook includes various run schemes, RPOs, and screen plays, making them a formidable offensive force.* 55:09 🏈 *The success of their offense can be attributed to their versatile approach, combining elements of pro-style and modern offensive strategies.* 53:44🏈 *Washington's Offensive Continuity: their offense operates with remarkable continuity and precise timing. This allows the quarterback to make quick decisions and release the ball with confidence. As seen in critical moments, the quarterback, Michael Pennix, is capable of delivering passes before the receivers even complete their routes, showcasing the deep understanding and chemistry within the offensive unit. Can Milroe make these adjustments in just one off-season?* 54:27 🏈 *Effective Critical Situations: Even in high-pressure situations, their offense proves its effectiveness. In the video, they manage to gain substantial yardage when needed most, demonstrating the ability to execute plays flawlessly, even against strong defensive teams. This reliability in critical moments can be a game-changer.* 55:09🏈 *Diverse Offensive Playbook: Alabama's offensive playbook is going to be incredibly diverse. It includes various run schemes, RPOs (Run-Pass Options), and screen plays. This versatility keeps opposing defenses guessing and creates opportunities for big plays. The offense can seamlessly switch between different strategies, making them a formidable force on the field.* 55:38🏈 *Combining Pro-Style and Modern Strategies: What sets their offense apart is its unique blend of traditional pro-style elements with modern offensive strategies. This combination allows them to adapt to different situations and opponents effectively. Whether it's running diverse plays or incorporating RPOs, their offense showcases a well-rounded approach that keeps defenses on their toes.*

Milroe was the most accurate QB in the nation of throws 20/25+ yards outside of Heisman winner Jayden Daniels. (who had 2 possible 1st round WRs) Cant wait to see what Coach DeBoer can do with Milroe (who finished 6th in Heisman voting) especially now that Bama will have a better WR and RB rooms this year as well. We brought in UW WR Germie Bernard who had the 4th most receiving yards at UW this past season, which would’ve been good for 3rd most at Bama. Former top50 recruit Kobe Prentice had just as many games this past season where he was the teams leading WR as Bonds did. 5 star Jalen Hale (lead the WRs in yards/TDs against Ole Miss) won’t be a freshman anymore, former top75 player Kendrick Law, borderline 5 star/former top50 recruit Emmanuel Henderson and top5 recruit WR Ryan Williams will eat this season. We also moved 5 star (On3 5 star #1 TE) Caleb Odom to WR as well. If Milroe takes that next step than the sky is the limit in terms of what this team can accomplish. Rtr!

Just found this channel. I've been looking for football talk like this for a long time. I won 2 state titles playing DE, and my former teammates are the only guys that I can go this deep into football with until now. Subscribing. 65% motion? That's an annoying offense to go up against, especially with these blocking schemes. I was pretty good at getting to the QB--8 sacks my senior year. I feel like this would have been an o-line that would have had me fighting all 4 quarters. I'm not even a Bama fan, but I'm going to keep an eye on their trench work for sure.

Also folks are forgetting that even tho we lost Proctor (who gave up the most sacks of any o-linemen this past season) Pritchett was the #1 OT/5 star in his class and with bringing in a better o-line coach, Pritchett should be rdy in year 3, Booker will he one of the best o-linemen in the county, Roberts will look even better at guard, we brought in a better center and i have no doubt William Formby, (top100 player) Olaus Alinen, Miles McVay (6’7 350LBS)

Yes, I would like to see on film how the new 4-2-5 compares to Saban's 4-2-5 concepts that Bama has mostly been in the last 5 years as dictated by the offenses they have faced. Saban preferred a base 3-4 over/under defense but his Star position was very similar to the Husky position.

“Big fat slow gotta go” is what got them killed in the Michigan national title game. Washingtons small ass linemen got man handled, pushed around, and dominated on both sides of the ball. “Big fat slow gotta go” will not serve Alabama well vs teams like UGA in the SEC with massive linemen. Kirby and Lane saw how Alabama dominated them in the trenches, made comments on how huge our linemen were, and are now recruiting linemen of similar size. Smaller athletic linemen simply will not win in the SEC unless your running a pure option offense. Which could work with Milroe. But wanting a gun slinger at QB with small linemen will be disaster for Alabama. Gotta have the big ugly horses upfront to compete. Cute finesse football just wont get it done I’m afraid

I don't want to sound negative or anything but Kalen admitted in a video I've seen on RU-vid that most of what they do is eye candy. Now eye candy can be great against Oregon or some Pac 12 defense but Georgia is going to eat that stuff up. Kirby has seen every kind of eye candy imaginable from Malzahn to Freeze to Sark. Also, you start by saying that Alabama has been primarily known for size and while that is true of Saban/Bama 2009 to 2016, Bama 2017 to 2022 we're much smaller and shiftier, Bama only reverted back to massive size in 2023 and now the two huge tackles are gone. Proctor to Iowa and Latham in the top ten draft picks in the NFL. Oh, and the center who couldn't snap the ball accurately is gone as well to Ohio State. Not being mean or critical, just trying to add nuance to the observations.

@michaelbaker8633 9 месяцев назад
I'm not sure you've been paying attention for the last 10 years, but Kirby jas been regularly eaten alive by exactly the type of offenses you are referring to. Remember Ohio St in 2022? Bama in 2021 and 2020? LSU in 2019? Bama in 2018? Auburn in 2017? Ole Miss in 2016? Ole Miss and Clempson in 2015? Ohio St and Auburn in 2014? A&M and Oklahoma in 2013? What do they all have in common? They were all competent passing offenses and they all hung 35+ points and 500+ yards on a Kirby Smart defense......and we aren't talking about a murderers row of quality QBs either.

Alabama line up in bunch , put the faster players in the formation, Kendrick Law , Emmanuel Henderson, Ryan Williams outside receiver Bernard , Justice Haynes As the RB you have 3 options Jalen can run a RPO , so the defender has to worry about Jalen and Haynes running , when the defender is eating the bait , your DB’s gotta keep up with a receiver because if not wide open touchdowns all day , you can’t play man to man against Kalen Scheme, what Michigan did was bring pressure 24/7 and playing 80%zone that’s how they were beating Washington and even when they blitz someone was wide open Penix didn’t have time .

DeBoer will likely go more smashmouth compared to Washington because they got the big guys up front that Washington didn't have. DeBoer is also bringing in a highly touted and recruited Ausin Mack at QB, a 2way QB that has a strong arm and pretty damn fast too. He's had a year under DeBoer already, hated to see him go, but I'm still looking forward to seeing him play. I wasn't impressed with Bama's QB at all. DeBoer loses Grubb, that's gonna be his biggest test this year, but I think he's more than capable. People in Bama should be very excited about having DeBoer, because when you look at his Washington team, it was mostly 3 star athletes and a handful of 4 stars, the guy gets the most out of what's available to him, and with all the 5 stars you got, the SEC should be very afraid, because he is going to shred the SEC. Still hate to see him leave UDub, but I can't blame him either

Okay, so based on this, Bama will have to try to bring in two new tackles in the transfer portal after Spring practice or will have to massively adjust the weight and nutrition program for the guys already on roster. What really concerns me are the two established guards because they are huge and I'm not sure they can pull like this. But you can't just bench them because they stayed loyal to the team and didn't transfer. I'm glad Kalen has to deal with it and not me 😂

@gavinmickwee8853 That's not true!! Jalen is a great young man and outstanding athlete but what I stated was facts. I am a die hard bama fan but in the Michigan game Jalen choked. Alot of that had to do with our inexperienced OC and a bad snapper but Jalen doesn't fit Debor's system that's obvious when Debor brought his QB from Washington with the number 1 QB in the country and the winner of the elite 11 qb's in the country Julian Sayin.

Big, fat, slow may hafta go, but if that identity changes at Bama, Debo better win 99% of games, because some would say the level of RBs we get, we only need 1 gap & big, fat, slow can do that, and has. We don’t need and haven’t needed to create a picket fence around the end…Henry’s power and Gibbs’ speed take care of that. Our current RBs have skill; so again, if he does that, it better work great, and hope HS RBs continue to see Bama as a good fit for them at the top tier school.
