As for the Dark Dr. Strange, I do not think that is actually Strange Supreme, as we know he is guarding the pocket dimension that holds Killmonger and Ultron. Most likely the Dark Strange is either Mephisto (insert Wandavision joke here) or Nightmare, one of strange's original villains.

@@jaydonjohnson7507 You can't really blame him though. A lot of the big misses are because of Marvel Trailer magic. Eye of Agamotto? Strange doesn't have it in the movie. Wong's line about not casting the spell? Completely different in the film. Be careful what you wish for Parker? Not spoken in the movie, and the closest line to it was from Green Goblin. The fact he even got somewhat close while being purposefully mislead is still pretty cool.

I feel you hit pretty close to the mark at the end, buy heres something to consider: Spider-Man is a tragic character, he isn't supposed to end off completely happy, and in the original run, he meets Harry, Gwen, etc in college. So what if this film ends with a mind wiped world, Peter tries to jog MJ's memories, but right before he actually does, he smiles and walks away, leaving a Peter, who just graduated High School, on a path without Stark industry's endorsement, and without any real friends, as he decides he cant put them in any more danger. BOOM college trilogy with a new cast and a more secluded Parker.

Ok, to be fair, the catalyst for the Dr. Strange movie was him being careless while driving. I think it's important to remember that his biggest flaw is overconfidence and him learning how to be humble was part of that movie, so him doing a completely dangerous spell behind Wong's back to impress Peter isn't all that unlike him.

My theory is along these lines. I think that strange's spell works, meaning that the entire world forgets that Peter Parker is spiderman, leading into a soft reboot going forward where noone knows him and he no longer has any Stark Industries assistance, putting him more independent from the rest of the avengers. This would appease the spidey fans who dislike the MCU spiderman for being 'Iron Man Jr.' and also makes it so that if Sony want to pull spidey out of the MCU and into their new Venom/Morbius continuity, they can do without having major ramifications on the rest of the MCU.

Spoilers: I cannot believe how accurate matt is with this theory. The movie was basically a soft reboot. I hope Tom continues to be Spider-Man. *SPOILERS* The reboot theory is actually kind of correct. At the end of the movie, to stop reality from collapsing Peter tells strange to make everyone forget he's Spider-Man, he promises MJ and Ned that he'd tell them afterwards. But what happens is that he decides not to because they'd be in danger again. And then he goes into his new apartment, and swings around in his "new" suit. Because now nobody knows he's Spider-Man, he doesn't have Stark tech anymore, so his final suit is the classic suit. And in the post credits scene, Eddie gets sent back to the Sonyverse, but a piece of venom stays in the MCU.

Doctor strange seems to have practically reverted to his first movie self but in a more watered down way, it seems as if he had reached that beyond caring point before casting the spell, but was definitely angry about Spidey taking that box, so I think he sort of half reverted, likes showing off a bit, sometimes ignores consequences but is definitely a bit more responsible than first movie self, I would say his current character is more of an in between of his first movie self and endgame self

I mean, he's beaten Doramammu at this point, played a key role in undoing the snap and beating Thanos... wiping the collective memories of the world would seem fairly simple to him. And it is to save the lives of Peter's innocent friends and family. Add to that the times they've spent together in the movies, the fact that they both live in New York, and the death of Tony Stark, Strange probably has some paternal feelings toward Peter and wants to help him.

i am so glad i decided to watch this after the movie bc i had a feeling u would be right AND THE ACCURACY IS ASTONISHING!!!

Just finished the film and all I can say without spoilers is The third theory, the reboot ready yet also able to proceed with regular Holland MCU if deals don't go sour is like 90% right so good job there FNAF man
