Even though it wouldn't make much of a difference in level, convincing Maximus to give the Power Core back is definitely a hard check. That suit could mean life or death for him. She essentially talked him into being able to die easier.

We could speculate on the perks Lucy has. So, in FO4, you can take idiot savant no matter what your Int is, and at level one you gain an additional 3x EXP from ANY ACTION. The higher your INT, the lower the chance it’ll happen. Lucy definitely has level one of idiot savant, because there are times in the show where she does something dumb/idiotic, which could be an indication of idiot savant popping off and providing 3x EXP. There is a high probability that she could have gained enough EXP from idiot savant popping, to be another level higher, potentially 2 depending on when it pops. If it triggers as the result of finishing a quest, let’s say the super duper mart quest just to make things simple, that would mean she would’ve made 234 x3, or 702 EXP! I did my own little test and even at INT 10, idiot savant still popped quite often, just performing random actions. I have a feeling that Lucy could be level 8 or 9 potentially closer to 10.

That would be the minimum level she could be. When she walks through the wasteland she is not fast traveling; there are encounters on the way that they don't show. For example, in episode 5 she starts off with raider armor and is killing rad roaches with a high amount of weapon skill.

I think you've forgotten about the Syringer rifle, the tranq gun is likely based off of that weapon

There is a way past the Deathclaws at quarry junction. Hug the east wall and keep hugging it until you are within a hop skip and a jump from the research building with the dead brotherhood operatives. I used that to skip over the entire southern half of the map, ans used the caps from selling the brotherhood armor at the gun runners to fund a blackjack banning spree in all 4 casinos in New Vegas.

i feel like there's a lot of small interactions and other things should count too; like her interaction with the old guy after leaving the vault and giving him water.

theres one major wrinkle in this calculation... leveling has actual effect on how much exp you gain. there are perks and other bonuses from food and a bunch of other effects that can MAJORLY boost xp... chief among those is exactly what you said, her SPECIAL. And in fallout 4 you can increase your Special every single time you level up. So she could have a maxed out int by now, or even have some awesome perks that increase xp gain further. We dont know if the perks work the same as in the games, but leveling up would at least give her the chance of getting up to 40% MORE experience from perks and special increases. TBH i dont think this matters that much because she still does things that a low level character just SHOULD NOT be able to do. but its fine. Because its a show. Interesting theory, just wish it was more thorough in explaining why some bonuses were used but others were not

One issue I have with this is that “in game” time and “gameplay” time passes differently. Comparing her time spent in show should be compared to the character’s time spent in-game. Most games cycle 24h periods faster to imply day/night cycles without the tedium of literally waiting a whole day. This is something shows do, too. Other than the time comparison, this was a great breakdown of xp accumulated!

This would be finishing the first arc of a fallout game i would lock in with a level 12-16 awnser

Under Fallout 4 rules, she can't possibly be level 1 when we start the show; her special is too high for level 1. All of her hand to hand combat training/gun training/repairing pipes, etc would be tutorial quests within the vault, so she could 100% be higher than 1. But, she would need to have hit level 13 minimum by the time she visits the Vault in Fallout Shelter so we can't use her stats to assume her base intelligence in the show. Considering, though, how none of her attacks are crits and she is super not perceptive, we could probably use those as where the stats points were dumped into between levels 2-13. Giving 2 luck and 3 perception to start; that leaves only three that would possibly need to be pull from intelligence score but with all the intro quests we see during the show intro, we can give her level 4 when she leaves the vault.

Interestingly, it was only yesterday that I watched a different channel doing the very same... so... no you guys are not the only one insane enough to do this. They stuck mostly to Fallout 3 and New Vegas though and ended up not far from Level 8.

You realize that fallout has an in game timer so 2 real hours would be multiple days in game which lines up more accordingly with Lucy (especially since she’s in survival mode and needs to sleep)

I don't know about Fallout 4, but in Fallout 3 you can increase your intelligence stat when you level up via the "Intense training" perk, so maybe she did something like that and with more intelligence you gain more xp. Did they not consider that?

Another thing to add, in Fallout shelter, CX404 is a companion as well and yields +44% xp while equipped or a character

I seem to remember at some point a 'bobble-head'... and a few 'skill books' along the way. Lucy doesn't seem to use any chems, and we don't know of any specific perks she might have. It could very well be, that her XP is slightly higher than what is calculated in this video based on these items alone. It doesn't make a lot of sense to show her reading a 'Grognak', or picking up a bobble-head, and the average viewer would probably be confused/bored to see these 'in-game' effects taking place. Just on the 'exploration' side of things, I know that in-game, there are a lot of places that simply give a bonus, but don't really have much of a story attached to it. Just walking near a Red Rocket, gives a bonus, even if you don't go inside to explore/loot. Do we actually see each and every radroach she might encounter? Probably not. And there are dozens of low level critters that will aggro if we are detected. If anything, I would double the amount of XP, and assume a few perks along the way, perhaps even boosting her intellect which may again, add a slight XP bonus. I haven't played Fallout 4, so I don't know exactly how the mechanics may differ from F3 or FNV. Since we only see her in her vault suit, it doesn't appear that she has any bonuses from armor/headwear/etc. But do viewers really want to watch a Fallout fashion show in every episode? As a player, a lot of us dump the vault suit for armor, and other articles of clothing. Even going so far as to 'change clothes' if we are going to trade, repair, make a 'science check' etc. If Lucy were actually in a game, I would expect her to 'change clothes', 'read a skillbook', and maybe pop a chem from time to time. But that's not what the viewing audience is going to enjoy, or see the direct effects of such in-game changes.

Funny, I not long ago watched a video from "Kitten Arcader" that was released 5 days ago entitled... "I Calculated Lucy’s Level from Fallout | Level with Me - Lucy from Fallout (2024)". Now, I see yours pop up.🙂

The show is mostly likely compressing a lot between cuts between scenes, which can be considered a fast travel, but if more insane, someone would check the probability of enemy mobs spawning, conversations, items picked up, and how many quest on average someone would complete in that area, giving that lvl 7 a bit more value. But who am I kidding, Probability and Statistics was never most peoples friend in highschool or college.

Weirdly enough with how mutation and rads work, at least in Fallout 76, you could safely assume that the Ghoul is and absolute max level min/maxed build monster. Which makes total sense with the way he is portrayed in the show.

The Ghoul is already maxxed out in Steady Aim, Awareness, Penetrator, Party Boy, VANS, and Gunslinger.

I love Fallout. I am a new fan, but by playing Fallout Shelter for a month a have been interested in playing other Fallout titles and delve deeper into the lore of this franchise.

Lucy would be fairly high level. Think about it, she received 'controller' training in an elist vault. In essence, she'd be one of those NPCs we'd meet in a vault, in the games, that has been dping research since the bombs fell.

Lucy's starter weapon was a Syringer with pistol grip and short barrel. Sure, the games don't have pistol mods for Syringer but they absolutely give XP.

I'm not sure if anyone figured this out yet but the lv of Lucy is wrong. She doesn't even leave the vault till around lv 10 at least. If you based her special stats with fallout 4 then she would have started with 1 point in all 7 stats then she only gets 21 points at the start. You can get: Str 4 Per 7 End 6 Chr 5 Int 6 But after that she's out of points. She doesn't have enough for her Agl or luck, she is short by 11 points meaning before she even leaves the vault she had to gain 11 more lvs and put those points in her attributes so she left the vault around lv 12 then started her adventures. Correct me if I'm wrong but that's the only way her special stats she has make sense.

You mean "What no one was willing to do a second time since that other video on the subject came out a couple weeks ago", I guess. 2 hours in our time is about 2 days in game time in fallout 4, plus these characters have to sleep, and occasionally are passed out, in playing the game most people don't bother sleeping, so that makes this at least 3-4 days. Also, most people playing fallout 4 are probably not first time players, they're probably experienced fallout 4 players streaming specific gameplay. My guess is if you are new to the game and don't know what to expect it would probably take you longer than two hours IRL to get to level 7. Also interesting that the level you came up with it very similar to the person who had their video come out a couple weeks ago

She’s level 15 because when you unlock her in fallout shelter her level is 15 before you level her up.

3:21 Sterling Submachine gun. I don't think a single fallout game ever had those, only mods. as for the Caliber, it's 9mm, I think only New Vegas had that Caliber as far as I know.

I have a theory... (completely off topic from Fallout) CAN Sandy Cheeks survive in her AirDome? She has a large oak tree in there, and a few times, bugs and birds are shown to live in there too. Would her suit and dome actually make enough oxygen for her to live? (excluding the water pressure most likely)

Wow! I assumed she was at level 10. Fallout 4 has a syringe gun. I use it to paralyze enemies. You get it at hospitals and the vault where you find CVRY. Great video, great breakdown, very entertaining and engaging.

You actually forgot a couple things, I'm not done with the video yet so if I'm wrong I'm wrong but when you listed all ways of gaining XP you didn't list crafting, in fo4 crafting will give you XP, Lucy ends up with a makeshift armored vault suit later on that I would almost consider crafted based on the fact that it's not an item she removes from an enemy, it's just a leather arm band sure but I don't remember if we see her grabbing that. I also feel as though the fo3 leveling may have been better in the beginning due to the trait mechanic, Lucy some of the things Lucy starts with in the vault absolutely could be considered traits. Otherwise I love this video so far, good job guys, keep it up.

This feels like an old school game theory episode from a bygone era and I am SO HAPPY! Keep up the great work and can't wait to see more theories from you!

Something to also consider is that he knew what he was doing when he replayed the game starting with Lucy's stats. I just started the game (FO4) for the first time ever (inspired by how much I loved the TV Show) having no idea what I'm doing and I have played 18 hours so far and I am barely level 9. Many many in-game days have passed. When the vault dwellers in the show talk about the surface, they make it clear they have absolutely no idea what to expect. So Lucy would essentially be leaving the vault with similar awareness to me, someone who has never played before and has no idea what to expect.

Just starting the video, but i wanna say Lucy is that playthrough where you trick the system and level up in the intro. Shes basically the oblivion rubberband sneak trick.

My theory on the 3 main characters is that they're supposed to represent Good, Neutral, and Evil karma player characters, Lucy being good karma, Maximus being neutral karma, and the Ghoul being evil karma.

I loved this theory and thought it was very accurate, then while thinking about you making a video on what perks she has selected, I remembered she had the cannibal perk and thought "okay so rank 8 endurance, thats easy enough." But the person she eats is a ghoul, so she needs rank 2 cannibal. Which has a level 19 prerequisite. I still think the theory was great, but I am curious how you think she might have been able to eat him at such a low level or how she manages to hide 12 levels?

2 minutes in, and my expectation is he's going to give a ton of XP into Lucy in Speech Checks. Thing is, those don't happen every 2nd sentence, or even every 5th or 10th. They usually happen across only a handful of the NPCs (I'd wager 1 in 4-6), and once per NPC on average. Sometimes twice. Acceptions for specific instances like Ulysses or Lanius. But, this pre-watch speculation. Edit: Looks like he did space them out and the checks make sense.

That “one question” is on nobodies mind

One thing that both this video and the one covering Pikachu's level ignore is what happens when we're not watching. Obviously we can't know for sure, but it's safe to assume at least some exp gain during time jumps and scene changes. Probably not quest or dialogue exp, but travel and combat exp are very reasonable things to happen off screen.

If you’re going to calculate the ghouls level with what is shown on screen then it’s easiest just to say “What is the ghoul’s level if he was level 1 in his first appearance?” He is literally a famous bounty hunter who has probably killed hundreds of people and has discovered most of the landmarks already. But everything he does in the show can count as side quests.

If the question is "What level would lucy be at the end of season one" then it depends on what game you are placing her in. The only game she technically exists in right now is fallout shelter. According to fallout shelter she should be level 1 in her own shelter but leaves at whatever level she is when she enters the players vault. That would ideally be around level 20 - 23 but actually ranges up to 43 So if you go by min max factors, if lucy canonically leaves her home vault around level 20, with her high luck charisma and perception stats, she would definitely be level 50 by the end of season one because shes spent at least a week in the wasteland and survived.

The real question is whether this should be on film or game theory

I really really hope you guys do one on the ghost movie coming out soon, ghost is such a detailed band with tons and tons of hidden lore. For example, Copia (Emeritus IV) might be executed just like his half brother Emeritus III in the coming movie, referenceing an inanscapeable death in the song square hammer, and the final bow for dance macabre. Im excited to see how this all plays out, and nervous to see if Copia will have the same fate as his brothers before him. I feel like this is perfect for film theory to uncover

Kittenarcader already made this video over a week ago in greater detail, great little channel that only has 2% subs that you have but makes meticulously researched videos and it's just 2 people, sad seeing such a big channel make such a cheap version of something from someone so small. They've also made their cliff-notes versions of several "How to Beat..." videos from another smaller channel HitStart, shame.

3:00 There is a fundamental fallacy here... the notion that the "game" began at the same time as the show. We don't control Lucy, so we cannot prove that the game didn't begin BEFORE the show started. More pointedly, there is a bit of a montage of Lucy's day-to-day in the vault, and it becomes subsequently clear she's already leveled up a number of times. Now, its one thing to say "I'm going to pick an arbitrary point to start from", but quite another to assert that the main character only started gaining XP because we began observing.

Maybe stated elsewhere, but worth considering that defeating the raiders at the beginning might be considered completing a mission about defending the vault. I'd say she would have leveled up at least once.

They (Bethesda) should make your player character jump 2 levels for every perfectly preserved piece of they get. Or have a quest where ya need to get every pie ya can, and give it to a person for studying why they stayed perfect for as long as they have
