I love the colorful letters one from the late eighties.

It's sounds crazy but it's happened before. Coca-Cola owned both Tri-Star Columbia Pictures as part of their telecommunications division before they sold it to Sony and both Nationwide insurance and Allstate had communication divisions which they later sold, General Tire owned RKO at one time.

@nitroforce87 Nationwide and Allstate are the last two companies I would ever hear owning communication divisions for TV. Coca-Cola, I have heard of, but Nationwide and Allstate? It's just so weird. But I guess in the 80s, you can't take chances. You either go big or go home.

The problem wasn't L'Oreal, but Hallmark Cards, Inc., who bought the company from L'Oreal. Hallmark decided all they needed to maintain were PAL-system video tape masters for European release, and destroyed everything else. Camera negatives, soundtrack elements, gone. (Shows based on "outside" properties, like Star Trek, Tom & Jerry, etc. had reverted back to the owners of those properties, and survived. This is a pattern with Hallmark. Some years ago it took an outside intervention to prevent them from destroying the master negatives of the Laurel & Hardy classics; which they had acquired with Robert Halmi Inc/RHI Entertainment, principal producer of "Hallmark Hall Of Fame" TV specials. They felt the old comedies were not bringing in enough money to be worth the storage costs.

The last one was what led to Filmation’s demise. They marketed it as a sequel to the 1937 film, but Disney wasn’t very happy about that at all, so they sued them.

Yeah. The theme song is also quite catchy.
