Thanks for sharing this. I love your passion for being creative, up to carrying the heavy gear into the wild for miles. Definetely, this is great motivation.

Thanks for that encouragement, i definitely don’t always feel like dragging all of my gear out there often haha.

Absolutely stunning work. Which film stock emulation did you use?
@jordanvp
@jordanvp 2 года назад
Thank you! I like to use the Kodak P400 Portra and sometimes the Fuji Velvia, but tbh you can't go wrong with any of them!

@@jordanvp thanks so much for the reply! Do you find you use them pretty much "as is," or do you do a fair amount of colour correction as well? I find that I always want to increase midtone saturation to boost the skin colour a bit, because otherwise skintones look almost papery white. Have you found the same? Perhaps it's my camera?
@jordanvp
@jordanvp 2 года назад
I do the same for sure! I don’t do a ton of color correction but I also roll back the actual film color to about 60% so I still retain some of the original color/saturation and I like how that looks better than 100% film color!

@@jordanvp Ahh gotchya! So do you shoot in LOG and then use a conversion LUT before applying Film Convert? Or do you shoot in a Rec709 profile? Just because I shoot in SLOG3 and usually try to put FilmConvert directly on top of that (with the right profile ofc), but when I dial back the film color it just looks bad haha.

Hey sorry, I feel like a bit of an idiot haha 😂 all the answers I want are at the end of the video. Classic. Sorry to ask inane questions when the answers are right here.

Beautiful job, Jordan! Nice use of the Sierras in the story. Did you lav him too? And what lav if you did? I'm looking to buy the Ride 2 wireless, and I'm researching lavs that work in the outdoors with my BMPCC4K.

Thank you! Yes I actually do use the Rode wireless Go…I’ve used both versions and they are both excellent. I’ve used other products as well but have encountered interference with all of them. It’s well worth the money to go with the Rode system!

Can you explain a little more about choosing your camera at 12:18? So it color corrects your footage when you pull up the correct camera profile? Also, do you know how it works if they don't have your camera? Will using a similar one do the trick? Thanks! Great video.
@jordanvp
@jordanvp Год назад
Sorry, I should have clarified that better. It takes any LOG footage and adjusts to Rec709, not actual color correction. But if you'd like to check to see if they have a profile for your camera you can check out all of their supported cameras here... www.filmconvert.com/camera-packs
