The 14th Filmfare Awards were held in 1967, honoring the best Hindi films of 1966.
Guide led the ceremony with 9 nominations, and won a leading 7 awards, thus becoming the most-awarded film at the ceremony. It also became the first film to win all 4 major Filmfare Awards - Best Film, Best Director (for Vijay Anand), Best Actor (for Dev Anand) and Best Actress (for Waheeda Rehman).
The ceremony also proved to be controversial, as S. D. Burman who was nominated for Best Music Director, and Lata Mangeshkar who was nominated for Best Playback Singer for "Aaj Phir Jeene Ki Tamanna Hai", both for Guide, lost their respective awards to Shankar-Jaikishan and Mohammed Rafi (for "Baharon Phool Barsao"), both for Suraj, despite being highly-favored to win in their respective categories.
Shashikala received dual nominations for Best Supporting Actress for her performances in Anupama and Phool Aur Patthar, but lost to Simi Garewal who won the award for Do Badan.

गीत संगीत के awards गलत दिये गये। स्पष्ट रूप से शैलेन्द्र और सचिन दा इसके हकदार थे− गाइड के लिये। "लोकप्रियता" का अर्थ "उत्कृष्टता" नहीं होता । गीत संगीत के awards "लोकप्रियता" के आधार पर दिये गये।

1967 is Special Years for me..... yah saari movies meri fav hai, Pyar kiye ja aur Mera Saya baar baar dekhta hu. Mera SAYA ke saare gaane Specially "Nainon me Badra" & Anupma ka gaana "Kuch dil ne kaha" mere TOP 10 FAV Songs me ek hai. AFSANA, MAMTA aur Yah raat phir na ayegi ...yah 3 movies mene abhi tak nahi dekhi. ab lgta hai dekhni padegi. Rakesh Bhai aaj ka yah Episode abhi tak ka sabse achcha Episode raha....kyunki saari Movies ek se bad kar ek hai. AGAIN THANKS RAKESH Bhai ji👍✌

हमेशा की तरह impactful narration और बेहद...बेहद...उत्कृष्ट episode, राकेश जी ! 👌👌👌👌👌 सभी nominated फिल्में अच्छी थीं और किसी न किसी award की हकदार थीं ! जिन्हें कोई award न मिल सका, वो भी मेरी पसंदीदा फिल्में हैं, जैसे - 'दिल दिया, दर्द लिया' आदि ! सबसे ज्यादा हैरानी best music director के award को ले कर हुई ! 'सूरज' से ज्यादा बेहतर संगीत तो 'दो बदन' का था ! 'गाइड' जैसा versetile music तो उससे कई गुना ऊंचे level का है ! फिर भी सचिन दा को award न मिलना निराशाजनक है !

मैं उस वक्त 12साल का था। फिल्म गाईड के गानों ने धूम मचा रखी थी।देश का माहौल खुशनुमा था। लोगों में आपसी भाईचारा और प्रेम था।इंदिरा जी देश की पी एम थी। हिंदी फिल्मों के लिए लोगों में अटूट प्यार था।सिनेमा की टिकट दर बहुत सस्ती थी।वाकई वो समय बहुत आनंददायक था।❤

True and Guide was most popular and finest album of the year. FF award was manipulated many times. Shashikala deserved best supporting actress award for her brilliant performances in Phool aur Patthar and Anupama but given to Simi for her average performance (compared to Shahikala) of Do Badan.

Too many good and deserving movies contested the 1967 awards. Those were memorable years when every aspect of film and music making was at its peak. There was huge abundance (in fact over-concentration) of talent during the entire 1960s. Your excellent episode has brought back wonderful memories.

Love to watch the Filmfare awards episodes of 60s. 1966 was a year witg so many remarkable films released in hindi cinema. Guide deserved all the awards it won hands down. I feel it should have been in the list of 1966 awards because it was 1965 film, although it was released internationally in 1966, I guess. I'm surprised not to see manoj kumar nominated for Best Actor award for do badan neither did Asha Parekh for do badan as well. All the other nominations were great. Mehmood sahab deserved the award for Best comic actor for pyar kiye jaa. His comic timing is unmatchable. Everyone else deserved the awards. Loved your presentation as always rakesh ji. 👍👍

Lovely narration Rakesh ji. The clips of the iconic movies have been thoughtfully selected n edited to emphasise the beauty of dialogues, performances n songs. So many memories come flooding back. Watched Guide during its re-release in early 1970s with my parents, could not understand a wee bit..but later on, in subsequent decades, it won my heart, like those of millions of others, n has stayed with me as one of my MOST FAVOURITE films! Great story, great performances, great dialogues, great songs make Guide GOAT.I was mighty hurt to learn that SD Burman lost out to SJ despite timeless music of Guide. Strange are the ways of awards! No wonder, they lost their credibility over the decades. You deserve 10/10 for the lovely video. अशेष धन्यवाद राकेश जी! ❤🙏

Best music indeed was for Guide and S D BURMAN deserves. Shankar Jaykishan though my favourite music composer did not come anywhere near music of Guide. Shankar Jaykishan should not have accepted the award gracefully.

Good one. I went out in flashback while watching. No doubt Guide was all time most watchable movie but other ones were also not ordinary movies. Shaknkar Jaikishan was deserve for winners because they brought out new and fresh voice of Sharda whose voice was really different from others. So i agree with Suraj for winning best music although Guide music was also phenomenal yet my vote for Suraj. ❤❤❤

1967 three good films guide mamta anupama and one block buster phool aur pathar. Rakeshji you have told about music so nothing to say .Burmanda was right choice only thing how Dilipkumar even nominated for dil diya and shashikala was best choice.must be difficult to choose but it is good that guide deserve all awards and got the same.must be milestone film for navketan and Vijay anand.rakeshji waiting for your new videos so donot delay.

Guide Hindi version released in 1966 in most part of India..even if it was released in 1965 that was last part of year and it was not all over India release.. some person already mentioned valid point of Filmfare magazine nomination form which used to be attached with February or March issue..so people saw guide Hindi in 1966 in most parts of India 👍

Do kauri ki aukaat nahi hoti in filmfare awards ki. Ye kharide jaatein hain. Bhala ho Rishi Kapoor ka jo ye sachai bata gaya ki kaise usne Bobby aur Zanzeer films ke muqablein mein Rs. 30 thousand mein ise kharid liya tha.
