You should know, similar to the european fallow deer (Dama dama) and persian fallow deer (Dama mesopotamia) being separate species, the indian chital (Axis axis) and sri lanka chital (Axis ceylonensis) are actually separate species as well.

Which one is the best Safari for Wildlife photography? Yala or Willpattu? Would appreciate your feedback

@@shehan4uWell, yala is good for leopards since chances of seeing one is high there. But lately it has become crowded and congested, everyone’s competing to see a leopard. Wilpattu would be better due to less traffic, since there are leopards there too. IMO, Wilpattu would be better.

To remind you again, there are now just four valid leopard subspecies not ten, the Leopard (Panthera pardus) originated exclusively from Africa and the African Leopard (Panthera pardus pardus) is the most basal of the four leopard subspecies, the second most basal of the four leopard subspecies is the South Asian Leopard (Panthera pardus fusca), leaving the two most derived leopard subspecies to be both the North Asian Leopard (Panthera pardus orientalis) and the †European Leopard (Panthera pardus spelaea), the north china leopard and amur leopard are the last two surviving populations of the North Asian Leopard (Panthera pardus orientalis), which therefore makes Panthera pardus japonensis a junior synonym of Panthera pardus orientalis, the middle eastern leopard, caucasian leopard, persian leopard, indian leopard, sri lanka leopard, indochinese leopard, and javan leopard are all populations of the South Asian Leopard (Panthera pardus fusca), which therefore makes Panthera pardus nimr, Panthera pardus tulliana, Panthera pardus saxicolor, Panthera pardus kotiya, Panthera pardus delacouri, and Panthera pardus melas all junior synonyms of Panthera pardus fusca.
