Looking forward to watching that it will back a lot of memories i had vespa 150 then 180ss miss them alot not so much driving now iam in my 70s now but still love them👍👍
I've not had a scooter for some years now, but still long to have another one, the popping of a vespa/Lambretta's sounds beautiful I can almost smell the two stroke 😊 (closest I get to that these days is my petrol strimmer) 😂🤣😂 even that still brings back memories.
@@scootercoop5234I'm in my later 50s in the early to mid 80s nobody seemed to want then we could pick Lambretta's up for £15 to £20 (ahh the good old days) now Lambretta's are really high in price, hindsight is a wonderful thing. 👍
As a mod in east London/Essex in the very early 80’s it was a bit like a war zone with the skinheads, I took a few pastings usually from about 4 skinheads against one or two young mods. They hunted in packs and didn’t care how young you were, especially the glue sniffing ones that used to hang around the underground, they’d take whatever little money you had and leave you battered there was nothing glam about it but I’m sure this film will portray that…
I’m guessing the film will leave out a lot of reality Andy … and I have a few stories like yourself too .. but in my area the mods were usually fighting rude boys
TBH personally I prefer the bare minimum looking vintage scooters these days! Less is more IMO just a nice paint job is enough! In the 80s people were influenced by a few old pictures from the 60s on how a scooter should look. Now its all about preserving them. Looking forward to seeing the movie
Same here, when i sold my bolt standard 150 super back in 85, my mate who brought it immediately put about 12 mirrors and some lights on it, never liked it, ruined it in my eyes , never been a fan ever since 😅, thats not even mentioning the vibration rattle that with it.. Or the speed reduction 🤣
Yes I remember being asked that in the late 60s as I was only about 10 years old I had no idea what the difference was between a Mod or a Rocker , I just knew you had to say “Mod”
@@scootercoop5234 I loved this time. Scooter rallies, all nighters, Northern Soul and seaside B&B's and grub, aided and abetted by some rather excellent pharmacuticals! Great days.
@@scootercoop5234 If the film is set in the 80's are the Mods and Skinheads going to kick the nuts out of each other?. That's what usually happened back then.
Mods scooters were festooned with more spotlights than Blackpool illuminations, along with a dozen mirrors, aerials and foxtails, this lot look more like trainee London cabbies doing "the knowledge"!
There were only a couple really out of the 78 scoots there. And they were the old original 60s mods. The rest like my 2 There were original. No rev and go's No soulless electric shit. Originals....from 46 onwards!
@@scootercoop5234 why is it all being done by you. Good times the 80s scooter rallies. Got in a bit of bother with bobbies myself, wearing a black crombie
@@scootercoop5234 mate I totally agree with you that everyone is entitled to an opinion I wasn’t saying that at all was just letting everyone know that it’s not a film about mods and skinheads I we was told on the set that sam mendes is trying to show small clips from different subcultures from that era trust me that scene will probably be about a2 mins long at most
Castrol R.....mmmmmm....You didn't seem to smell it when you were riding on it tho...or you got nose blind to the smell...Use to leave yer Amal in an orange goo which looked nice!
Should be more scooter boys than mod Mod was only big for a few years in the 60s and start of 1979 80 The scooterboy era ran from early 80s to mid 90s and is never mentioned people with scooters are portrayed as mods and that's simply not true Wish they'd make a film about rally going scooterists
equally the people of a national run were about 50% mods/50% scooterists. You are also forgetting that it was hardly practical to go on a scooter run with suits etc....for a bank holiday weekend possibly stuck on a muddy campsite !!!! So DM's , jeans, red perry.......with a flight jacket or parka were general scooter run attire, for most across the spectrum. Certainly more mod influenced in the southern of the country, but the north more northern soul influenced....as a generalization. Dont forget Brighton gets full of mods for the 'mod scooter run' every year (10,000 over the weekend approx).
It’s a “free channel “ sir ! Some people return some don’t , it’s not for everyone I’m sure .. a bit like marmite (but not as sticky ) .. everyone entitled to there opinion , sorry it wasn’t for you .
