How do we film yachts docking? How do we know where they will be and when? It's not enough to be in the marina when they arrive, you have to know which side of the marina to be in. So how is it done, is it organised or by chance? Find out here

I have always known the effort you make in the interest of what you imagine we all want to see. And then further, the even more enormous effort in producing the video AFTER you collect the content! I appreciate and I’m grateful for all of it. Thank you, E!

All I know is that when I bring a boat alongside in a foul wind smooth as silk there is no one ever to see this feat of great seamanship - when I make a complete hash of it and try and park it in the harbour side cafe there is always a huge and appreciative audience. Parking these big beasts would be too much for my heart to bear!

I've always enjoyed your "yacht docking" videos very much. I was the helicopter pilot on a yacht for several years, and watching the captain and crew work together to dock the boat in some difficult situations was always incredibly interesting. Talk about teamwork!

What a fun video! I really like these impromptu style postings, its just like hanging out with your yacht buddy and hearing off the cuff boat stories :) That footage of Lionheart was awesome! Yes, it gives insights to people like me who had no idea how hard it is to film some outstanding dockings. I can relate to what you were doing in this video for having done, or tried to do, similar things in the past in other types of pursuits. You are a teacher of empathy. To get along in the world these days with the war in Ukraine and other conflicts, one needs empathy. Anything that develops empathy is good. Thank you, Empathy Sensei.

Bravo for the Madame Gu exercise program. Running is good for you. As you talked of the smooth docking, I had to think of pairing the song “Smooth Operator” with your video. However, you would likely get more views with pairing that song with a video of “The Beautiful Nieces of Monaco and the Riviera”. The Med brings out the generosity of older Uncles with their pretty, and favorite nieces.

If your bored with nothing to film in Monaco, if it’s not too windy, you might be able to film paragliders coming in to land off Rock Brune on the (nudist, or it was) beach. If your at sea looking back at Monaco, the mountain on the right hand side of the bay, the one with the big tv mast on it, the end spur is (or was) a take off site. It can be an interesting landing, as you have to judge it right (have enough height) to clear the overhead power lines on the train track, just in front of the beach.

I'm not sure if you've ever talked about it, but where do they store all those fenders when they're at sea? I'm guessing they are inflatable(?) Maybe you can give a quick explanation of the process of storing and deploying those ubiquitous items some time. Great work! I always enjoy your videos.

I worked on a ~35 metric ton/75,000 lb displaement ~20meter sailing yacht which used a fair number of pretty big fenders. At times I deflated most/all of the fenders, especially during longer ocean passages when space was at a premier and the boat container would not "follow" the yacht. The yacht had a dive compressor so I made up "special" hose with an attachment so I could re-inflate them

Your story illustrates what my father frequently told us as we were growing up. "Sometimes luck is worth more than brains." You can logically check what the yachts are doing, but Lady Luck determines whather you get the video. In the same vein, the Sharpe series* has General Calvert telling the story of how Napoleon selects a general. Napoleon asks "Is he lucky?" *The Sharpe series by ITV is available on RU-vid. Author Bernard Cornwell wrote a series of novels based in the time of the Napoleonic wars. For those of us who prefer sword fight to gun fights, it's a grwat series.

Madame Gu... George Town... appears to be C.I. My great-grandfather on my mother's side was the Admeasurer of Shipping for the Cayman Islands from about 1920 (?) until his passing in 1976 (not to mention one of the... if not THE... premier shipbuilders, engineers, contractors, etc. during his lifetime, PLUS M.B.E., J.P., etc. : ), and my grandfather held the appointment from '76 until his passing in 1987. My grandfather's plan was that I would take the position (actually seek the appointment) when he "gave it up", but SUPPOSEDLY Lloyd's took over the registration duties about thirty days after he passed... HELLUVA coincidence. Never heard from my "friend's" on the Island again. (note that I never lived there, which shouldn't have mattered, since most of the activity occurred in South Florida anyway : )

Outside of a coupla views of smooth hull lines, a coupla more of rich velvety interior luxury, a few minutes next to the plant snd bridge, and what I rarely get.... her stern down in the water, digging, big bow wave, cutting thru moderate swell, showing what kind of AUTHORITY all the above... adds up to... I'm more into music than watercraft. 14 years building this A/V... studio?... supercompute cluster... whatev...was 14 years of To-Do Lists... right? Except... I hate doing stuff I'm supposed to do. So when The List says I'm sposed to be checking off items A,B and C... I'm actually goofing off playing around with items D, E, and F... having fun cuz I'm just a bad boy, right on? Tell you what... tomorrow, when I'm sposed to knock out LMNOP... Ima skate that and just have fun instead with A,B and C. Productive Procrastination. He who spends the most minutes smiling... wins.

The Freemantle Highway still on fire could affect the exported car industry. The loss could be huge . Ship a total right off £200 million of cars and a potential salvage cost higher than Costa Concordia, Shipping insurance of bulk car carriers will rocket, as this could happen any day, this will affect EV prices that are exported, and may well have other consequences
