Here is a video of what went down whilst filming the intro to my cinematic Japan video. I wanted to show my creative process and a lot of the raw moments that happen while filming; so it is nothing fancy but hopefully you learn something. (:

Thanks for this glimpse behind the scenes - quite inspirational. I have to tell you: I haven't made many films, and very few on RU-vid. I consciously avoid "flashy" transitions, instead preferring a more straightfoward filmic approach. Your intro for "see what I see" has started to change my mind. I love the cinematography anyway but your transitions are just stunning. I'm going to have to go through the whole video at .25 speed to see what you've done but you've hit such a great balance between technical and organic. So deeply impressed, I can't tell you. And I see A LOT of videos on RU-vid, a lot of very well produced ones. But your style stands out, for me. Very happily subbed and just want to say "keep doing what you're doing"!

I am so glad you used the world Organic. Everything I do I try make it as organic as possible. I think the flashy transitions is a trend that will fade away, the key is using them for a purpose, I think that will be the future of film making :) Thanks for the comment!

Can you give me ad advice? I’m trying to figure out which color profile to use an when, I know that slog is not suitable in low light conditions, what profile did you use here? And what cp you tend to always use?

Hahaha please do! Thanks dude, I used PP9, Slog3. Does work in lowlight, you just gotta work out the best exposure settings etc. Low f stop helps in the lens also. Most of all have good lighting like the place I shot it at haha

The rest of the video is freestyle, for the story there is always an idea behind it! In this case I had been to the temple so I knew what shots I wanted. Although when there I winged it. Thanks!

What kind of mindset you bring along and prepared before your trip? I felt this is difficult to plan a filming plan or else enjoy the trip with good food good attraction and so on.

A very chilled one! If everything goes wrong then its still find because you're living life. Fun always first (: Because if you are stressing too much whats the point of it all? Although I will say we are very fast paced when travelling hahaha

Do you use a gimbal when you film? Just started videography with a sony a6400, deciding whether I should get a gimbal or a lens first? And god dayumm, that looked amazing, learned so much watching your videos! ❤

Yeah I do :) If you don't have a good lens maybe go for that first... You can get shots pretty stable by hand then warp stabilise them in post.

We can see the hard work. And we could particularly relate to the moment when you are taking shots after shots and a random guy comes in between 🤦🏻‍♂️. BTW congrats on 10k 😇
