Plot twist: he actually has a house-sized screen behind him 'cause he didn't want his massive guns to cover the whole video's space and not even then he managed to succeed

When he said “I miss this”, I felt that. I’ve been playing Overwatch since open beta and I’d give anything to go back to the old days.

Overwatch. The cinematics that make me smile. The game that makes my hair gray.

That Reaper scene that got you all excited - when he spread his smoke and went all "death blossom", shooting in all directions at once... ... you can do that in the game. It's his Ultimate ability. It's a pretty good damage AoE that will chip down all but the tankiest heroes if you can keep them in it for the whole duration. You are still vulnerable however, and slowed down on top of that, so you'll have to be very careful. Make sure the whole team is distracted before dropping in and popping it unexpected - otherwise you will eat several crowd control abilities in a row and die before the voice line is over...

To add a bit to the Pacing, the Exposition in the beginning (from the holoscreen), the quick cuts to Tracer and Winston as the kid talks about them. This was the first time anyone outside Blizzard even heard the name "Overwatch". It was announced on BlizzCon 2014 and I believe the slot in the schedule just said "Announcement" or "To be revealed" or something similar. Until the Cinematic mentioned Overwatch, no one knew about it. So that's why the cinematic is a bit longer, it's given a bit more time to build a report with the characters. It was ment to get the world interested and not to maintain an already existing hype. Sidenote: I still remember in the Overwatch Q&A they had a bit later, where BlizzCon attendees could ask what Blizz had planned for the game, and they got so many questions about who Tracer was, what was Widowmakers story, etc. I don't think they had planned for it to be more than "Cool characters shooting each other". They had not anticipated how people would connect with the characters on a personal level. So that's when they decided to start doing those short cinematics introducing the Heroes and a glimps into their backstory.

I can barely concentrate on what Chris is saying or reacting to in these videos anymore. His arms and chest are just hella distracting.

The effect used for the 2D Camera Movement is called Prallax-Effect. It means that the cell-layers (or different layers of the image itself) are positioned in a 3D Space so the camera simulates the depth within its movement. This effect was used in the past to create the train movement effect, in which the forground is moving faster as the background (because it is further away). This effect is now very common in Videogames and Animations as well. In this case there are some small additional effects like the flag movement that gives away the feeling of slow moving, even though nothing else (besides the camera) is actually moving within the image.

That cut to the security guard was PRICELESS! He was playing Hearthstone - another Blizzard game - and believe you me, that's a classic joke about security guards. They nailed it!

after 5 years of playing this game, I can't watch the cinematics without tearing up anymore! Especially the OW2 reveal trailer.

so, now that Overwatch cinematics have been done, could we get some of the Starcraft 2 story cinematics? For example Death of Zeratul or Alone from Legacy of the Void are great, but all of the cinematic in all of the campaigns are worth seeing in my oppinion.

5:37 When Reaper stepped on Winston’s glasses, the reason why he got so angry was because those glasses were from Dr. Winston, the guy who basically raised Winston in space. You could see him in the “Recall” cinematic, where he had the same exact glasses and gave them to Winston. ( Yes, I know I’m late :’) )

Thing is when they first revealed Overwatch at Blizzcon they gave little to no preview of what it was until they showed this trailer. Imagine seeing this for the first time and never knowing anything about Overwatch. Personally I was like, "Wait, I forgot I'm watching Blizzcon and thought for a moment I was watching a movie. Can't wait to see this game!"

If you want some more Overwatch content, the Origin Stories are pretty neat, usually last 2-3 minutes so you could watch multiple in one vid, or heck, even all of them for a longer one, the best ones are most likely Sigma, Doomfist, Sombra, and Ana, those have actual action.

In case you were actually wondering, that security guard was playing Blizzard’s own Hearthstone. They show a lot of their other games in cinematics. Fun touch.

About Winston jumping in front of the kids to protect them, even though they probably don't need protection as they are not the target. I'd say this is a perfect way to show who is the "good guys" in this. Sure, one of them has a big skull-mask so he's probably not a saint, but by making sure the kids are OK he defines himself as a defender and protector and a "good guy", which in contrast makes Widowmaker and Reaper the "Bad guys". I mean, if you ever want to show someone is the bad guy, make them kick a puppy and you will automatically get everyone watching to hate them. Same with defending kids, must be a good guy. Up until then we just assumed Tracer and Winston were nice because the little kid was so hyped for them.

What reaper does at 4:57 it's his ultimate move, like in the game same as winston after when the reaper stepped on the glasses, the gauntlet is from another character called Doomfist PS: I don't like Tracer's face in this trailer, is something about the nose i think

You should react to the Honkai Impact 3rd animated shorts (in this order)"Bronya" "Reburn" "Will of the Herrscher" "Cyberangel" "Final Lesson" "Seele" "Meteoric Salvation" "Lament of the Fallen" "Reawakening" "Shattered Samsara" and "Everlasting Flames". They look 2D anime, but they're actually fully made with some of the best animated 3D in the industry, especially for a videogame, awesome music and very cool battle scenes that don't shy away from competing with actual animated movies. I'm sure you'd definitely like them. And activate the subtitles if there aren't, of course.
