Sorry I haven't gotten back to you-I was on vacation, then right back to work! Thanks so much for your kind comments! I started out doing these videos for fun, and because I enjoyed watching the ones other people made, but now I am starting to see how they can be quite helpful-I know some have been invaluable to me!
Congrats! I appreciate your feedback! Like I said, I love looking at people's creative efforts, but sometimes you just need some practical info! When you don't have a Filofax retailer near you, it's really hard to decide which one to get, and there are so many factors to consider-whether it sits flat, "floppy factor", ring size, pockets, inserts, etc. I'm going to do a video soon comparing my Cuban and my soon to be acquired Chameleon!
I make my own dividers from larger school dividers and from funky file folders, both of which are readily available at stationary and department stores, particularly at this time of year. I just grabbed a few more, and will include them in a video or blog post soon...I've talked about making them in a couple of videos, but if you look at the one called "Filofax Personal Adelphi Apdate" you can see what I use. Then I make the headings with my AWESOME labelmaker, which I could NOT live without!
Hi! Love the video! Would you say the raspberry finsbury is kind of like a purple? Am so bummed they got rid of their Imperial purple finsbury & looking for a good replacement!
Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner, I was on vacation, then right back to work, so it's been a little hectic. The rings on the Metropol and the Domino are both really big. The Finsbury is, too. If you look at the Filofax website they give dimensions for each binder, I also recommend the blog called "Philofaxy" if you haven't gone there yet-they have all sorts of info about ring sizes. The Cuban has smaller rings, but I just transferred all my work stuff over and it fits great!
I've just ordered a raspberry Finsbury A5 via pensandleather and I can't wait to get it. It looks so beautiful! Thanks for you review, it helped me to choose.
Thanks for showing your Metropol. I actually was looking at the personal size in the new blue color but wondered if it being nonleather would make it cheap looking. Yours looks great so maybe i will give it a shot.
I recently bought an A5 Ff. I'd fully intended to get the Domino, but thought it looked really cheap in the shop, so decided on the Metropol, as I didn't want a leather binder. The cheapest shop I went to only had it in brown; I've put stickers all over it to make it harder to lose. It seems stiff, and the contents were disappointing, but I'm going to print out philofaxy's designs and some of my own.
If you have had a look at my videos, you know I have an A5 Domino in snake, that I had sent from Germany. Right now, this is my favorite. I have it stuffed, and the elastic is very forgiving and lets you put lots in. I also really love my two A5 Chemeleons, which I have also done videos on, too. If I was going to just get a cheap Filofax, I would get a Metropol-but, I would really be more inclined to wait for a sale and get a good-quality leather one for a reduced price.
Thank you! This really helped! Along with the A5 smackdown vid. Which one would you say is your favorite, now? After having used them for some time? and why?
This is such a great video! I haven't found many that review the Metropol Filofax which was a bummer at first, I thought I might of made the wrong choice when I first bought it online (i'm a new Filofax lover and went cheap) but honestly I am still very in love with my amazing Metropol. Glad to know I'm not alone! Again, great video.
Really lovely video, debating on getting a Metropol, will have a look at some more recent reviews to check the quality hasn't droppped, but thank you for sharing your thoughts Krista!
That is so sweet! It's funny, some of these videos I made ages ago, and I'm so happy they are still of some use to people! It's tough when you live in an area where there are no stores that carry Filofaxes. And when you are really debating, I think it's important to know EVERYTHING, ie, pen loop size, number, ring size, etc. Glad I could help!
