Fimi Palm Raw footage

Here are some RAW footage of the Fimi Palm, without color correction (it's recorded in log) or editing (shots are in their entirety, as you can hear LOL).
It's with the jan 20 update.
As you can see there room for improvment!
And funny thing the frame rate of the clip is always different from 29,98 to 30,30 fps.
And the leveling of the gimbal is lost randomly...

Another problem besides purple magenta in trees is the overall dark image. Otherwise it would be perfect for it's size and price. Also it's not good for low light obviously. Only shooting in sunny day, but still dark. White point could be increased in firmware to fix it but they no longer update firmware

It has a fisheye lens and the image sways, it's not like a movie camera.I mind that.

The sound it's kinda annoying. Is there an off button for that?

I think you can mute the microphone so that when you press record it will not record the beeping sound.

Yes but it's really silly to record the beep and not make the camera beep 😅

Merci pour tes samples ! Peux tu me dire si ça tiens du 1440p en 60FPS ? J'ai l'impression que la 4K manque de fluidité :( comparé au Dji Osmo pocket qui a déjà 2 ans, je trouve ça dommage , même si c'est pas le même prix, j'aurais préféré l'impasse sur le wifi / bluetooth et une image plus fluide.

refasm je vais faire un test complet ce week-end que je posterai ici, ainsi qu'un comparatif avec la Pocket. Le problème de fluidité je pense que c'est dû au problème de framerate (et je pense que tout ça est lié au hevc).

RU-vid demande plusieurs heures voir bien plus pour afficher les vidéos en 4K au début c’est en compressé 1080p , je suppose que c’est pour ça que la vidéo est encore en qualité moyenne ...

Yes you can lock everything and it has manual settings and 1080/60 is available too

In all the videos I have seen on other channels too, there is annoying beep sound of recording. Is there a way to turn this off?

Yes you can turn the beep sound off on the settings. I don't even know why they did this useless option!

Do you film in 1080 30 frame? In fine ore superfine?

No I filmed in 4k hevc. I set to super fine but I think this is just for pictures 🤔

It can only be used in 120 angular degree or also in 80 degrees? Otherwise, it ends up resembling the deformed image of an action camera. (disculpen mi ingles)

It's a fixed focal so always 120 degrees. You apparently can fix the lens deformation or keep it deformed. If you like the cine look and bokeh you want the dji osmo pocket

Yes it's software (inside the cam though) like on Yi 4k. Did I mentioned the Wi-Fi connection to the app really sucks?

Mechelen op zijn Best well to be honest no. I'm waiting for an update to consider using it. Now with the random framerate and all the other issues I can't take the chance

@@OlivierPlusquellec what issues!? The image for 150$ camera is superb. F log in this video looks great. Sharp and stable. Not contrasty or oversaturated. Even expensive camera would shake and is heavy to carry through streets. Frame rate doesn't matter when it looks good! And you don't need to edit footage from small sensor. For 150 bucks it's great.

C'est moins flagrant sur tes vidéos mais je viens de faire un test en extérieur et j'ai un gros problème d'horizon de travers... Quels sont tes réglages ?

Oh j'ai le problème d'horizon très souvent ! Pour le résoudre je recalibre la gimbal (slide du haut vers bas, gimbal setting slide à droite jusqu'à ce que tu aies l'option)

I intend only to use mine ( I just ordered it last night £129.00 ) for short clips in tracking mode for some B roll, making it look like there may be a cameraman/woman filming me. I'm not interested in anything else for this camera. Do you think it will serve this purpose well or do you think I wasted my money? I saw it on a clearance sale and for that feature ( tracking ) plus it being so small and lightweight i thought it was a good purchase.

@@OlivierPlusquellec Yeah the pocket 2 is nice. It has hunting issues though that put me off. They may fix it in a firmware update though.

Update to latest firmware and use it in sunny conditions. But there won't be any miracles I'm afraid

What is that annoying beep at the start of each segment? Can it be turned off?

Adam Collingham I guess you can call it a "feature"😅 it's the beep that you are supposed to hear from the camera that you don't actually hear but which is recorded on the video. Yeah it can be turned off in settings

Yes it's built-in. I just bought the adapter to try the external mic function.

Pas fait pour filmer des voitures....Bizarre ce choix de FOV super large, alors qu'il est plus "normal" sur les drones de la marque...

SETHalpine je pense que c'est parce que le principal reproche fait à la Osmo Pocket était sa FOV de 80 degrés. Mais ils sont partis un peu dans l'extrême opposé 😅et leur optique déforme énormément

@@OlivierPlusquellec Pour moi, c'est carrément LE défaut avec une compensation de lumière qui a l'air beaucoup moins efficace que sur la Osmo (peut être à cause de la lentille justement).
