LOL.. you are the only one I have heard call this the X8 Mini V3 🤣🤣 WOW!!! probably one of the best colour profiles I have seen from any Fimi Mini 3 to date. If that footage was straight from the sd card... your (donor) has a real winner. I agree.. don't update to 1006B.👍👍💪
I wasn't buying it as there were not enough significant upgrades for me to give fimi another $500,the night mode is nothing but noise and the video from my v2 is good enough.I gave fimi a good piece of my mind too as they emailed me asking to colaborate and then offer a mere $10 discount...lol
Looks like my Autel Nano+ The sensor is just amazing on my Nano+ as you have this drone as well. I just wish they stayed in consumer space and improved on the Autel Sky app and features. Amazing coverage - looks like a great place to take the Nano+ !
The Fimi Mini seemed to fly great, and the video looked pretty good as well. I think you might have found a good alternative to the DJI Mini drones. I'm looking forward to seeing more content on the Fimi Mini 3 drone. Thanks for sharing Marcus.
Nice Video! Can anyone tell me how to set POI’s like for instance while in waypoints I would like the camera to focus on specific landmark -! THANK YOU
Hey Marcus! Great video! Looks like a decent little 250 gram drone. Here's the big question: where does one buy this same exact drone? Couldn't find any v3 listed, only v2.
Ali express is where I found it. www.aliexpress.us/item/3256806660276623.html?spm=a2g0o.order_list.order_list_main.11.341c1802aYMpSN&gatewayAdapt=glo2usa
I do not recommend buying. I Bought 3 battery version. I received on June 2nd with one battery. Waiting 5 weeks for other 2 batteries and still nothing. It's not as good as DJI mini 3. Also if you get a bad one there is no return/refund option with Fimi.
If you dont have one I highly recommend an anti glare screen protector for the phone while droning outside. I love my "Fimi X8 mini V2". You got lucky there. Every time Ive tried flying in that area, I get someone yelling at me, or telling me its a protected area for a bird sanctuary. I like the state park areas on the Oregon coast, but make sure you fly from the sand. Oregon state prohibits drones in state parks, but Ive had several Park Rangers tell me that their authority to stop me ends at the sand. Dont be a nuisance and we wont bug you.
As usual, a great video with some beautiful scenery. As a follow up, how about some shots of you on your surfboard, riding those waves? Or would that be followed by you and your ride in the ambulance?
Hey Marcus this is one of my most favorite places to fly ,I’ve gotten some truly amazing photos with my drones ,between seaside and cannon beach it’s some of the most amazing sunset places on the Oregon coast if ,anyone wants an incredible drone adventure the from cascade head near pacific city through to seaside would make a weekend adventure and incredible experience just bring a lot of drone batteries..anyways didn’t want to ramble on to much …The Fimi mini 3 looks like a winner
Update on my Warranty claim with Fimi. I don't understand how a company that can make pretty good hardware could be so blatantly fraudulent when it comes to taking care of their customers. Today was the most ridiculous of the week and a half saga. . The hardware is decent it really is I'm not so sure about the longevity of it because I've had a drone for about a year actually about 9 months and I had a major failure. The Fimi warranty on their drones is one year and that's listed on their website. My drone fell out of the sky and when it fell it broke one of the legs. After providing Fimi With everything that they asked for over the last week and a half they come back today with the drone legs are only under warranty for 180 days. The motherboard and everything else is one year. Because the failure of my drone resulted in one of the legs being broken the whole thing is not under warranty. For anyone who's confused let me clarify . The broken leg is not what caused the drum to crash . The crash was caused by an internal error which would be under warranty if the leg had not broken when it fell 200 feet . I would suggest before you buy a Fimi look up comments on warranty and customer service. In a week and a half I have yet to find a not horrible story
@@IdahoQuadcopter Thank you. I moved on to a DJI Mavic 3 Classic which I am very happy with. I had sold the Fimi to a friend that was a first-time drone flyer. This happened about a month after he purchased it for me. It's disheartening because it is a quality drone. A long time ago I used to do videos like you except it was more computers and operating systems and things like that. If I could give you some advice because it really does seem like you care about your viewers. You're one of the reasons I bought a Fimi in the first place which I thank you for by the way. It really did allow me to develop a love of drones. You really do do a detailed breakdown of the drones and I think that that's great, but this warranty situation is something that I think you should cover also. One of the reasons DJI drones are so much more it's not only the hardware which but The infrastructure to support the drone pilot. You're also one of the reasons I bought a DJI because I saw you crash I believe it was a Mavic 3. You're the first person that I heard say DJI refresh. I have yet to find one positive Fimi warranty story. I've asked Fimi four different times to send me the written text of the 180-day warranty. I think it's something that you should investigate or at least tell people about because it makes a difference. I am so glad I went with the DJI Mavic 3 classic instead of the X8 Pro because I was considering them both. I got lucky because I had not investigated the warranty things at all. Thank you for your videos they're really helpful I appreciate you
Yours look much better than mine. Unfortunately on the fimi mini 3 I received videos look OK on the tiny phone camera, very saturated or colorful if you like. Once you get to the big screen there is a very pronounced lack of definition. I did a controlled comparison frames isolated from the videos with the potensic atom and DJI Mini 4k. The fimi mini 3 indeed lacks definition. Many experts point out they tunned the camera down while saturating the crap out of image to hide lack of definition caused by the weak CPU on the drone. I am not sure what to believe and all I know do hate my FIMI mini 3: Controls have no precision, camera lacks, range is bad.
@virpz I have the v1 of this drone and the range is horrible. I noticed your comment about range and am to understand that with this new version the range is bad with this one?
Yours seems to work better than mine. Try 48mp pictures next time and see what happens. PS. Change the name in your title to Fimi Mini 3. That's what it's called.
The 48MP preview is improved in the last update, you can have a try. 4K video is 8Mp resolution, 6K video is 19.4Mp, 8K video is 35Mp, so if you need to get a 48MP/30fps preview, you need a very powerful chip with more then 8K video processing ability. But I think there should be some way to improve it, for example, the first stream work in 48M in low framerate, the preview second stream works in 720P/1080P 30fps, just my thought:)
@@shapethefuturetech6005 I refuse to do the update for now. My drone is working better after the previous update. IMPORTANT QUESTION: When I do compass calibration I turn hundred times horizontal and it won't move to vertical calibration. I have to do a DOLPHIN CALIBRATION where I turn around and move the drone up and down. Why is this? Same thing with my Fimi a3 and x8 se 2022.
I grew up in Salmon Idaho, but ive lived all over the country. I lived in Westport Oregon for two years, Westport is about 40 miles from Seaside Oregon, its really beautiful there, but the rain is unrelenting. I've literally seen it rain, for 6 months straight in Westport. 40 days & 40 nights, ain't nothing lol.
Don't miss flying out to Tillamook Rock Lighthouse from Ecola State Park, about 1 1/2 miles off shore. Also Hay Stack Rock from Cannon Beach. At the time my Phantom 3 Standard wasn't up to either one.
great area and flight Marcus! Tillamook lighthouse (Terrible Tilly) is a great flight about 1.5 miles offshore you can do with most drones these days--best to start from Tillamook Rock Lighthouse viewpoint off the Clatsop loop trail in Ecola State park--issues are parking at Indian Beach though in the summer as you gotta go well before 8am to get a good spot and guarantee a nice hike and flight.
Thank you Joseph! Yes, terrible Tilly is so interesting. You're right, you need to get to Ecola early, or anywhere near Cannon Beach for that matter. 😀
Marcus, I have to say, this was an outstanding video! Nice drone, beautiful scenery, incredible location and great flying. That neighborhood community looks like the types of neighborhoods you sometimes see in movies and think..."Such a wonderful place, where is that at?". The view @15:00 is stunning with the sun reflection on those surf waves and the blue Pacific Ocean. I notice details like this from my years of sailing and kayaking. I'd love to see more of Seaside Oregon. Also, Coos Bay Oregon is another pretty location on the Oregon coast, i've never been but saw a lot of videos and pics. Last, that drone got some incredible footage, i was looking hard to see if there may have been sharks in that surf somewhere. Drones have been capturing footage of sharks lately in different places. Enjoy the rest of your vacation, i'm sure it'll be a good one. Oh and btw, i been looking to get a new drone so if i buy one (probably mini 3 or 4) i'll be sure to use your link.
Thanks for the video, can't pass up a good drone video. Thanks for the bonus video about the salt making. I've been to the coast many times when living in the Portland area, but never was aware of the salt making by the Lewis and Clark Expedition and what an important part it played in their survival. I would have never thought that salt would have made such a difference in the success of their trip. I think that we take so much for granted these days and our ability to just go to the supermarket and buy a bag of salt. Thanks for a good drone video and a little bit of history.
I've seen a few videos on this new version, and it looks great and also packed of features, so i think for the money, it's a bargain i think ill be getting one great video Marcus have a great vacation 👍 👌 😀 🇬🇧
hi Marcus, neat video of the Pacific coast, thanks for sharing. Looks like a nice vacation spot. That drone has precision landing, but may need a round pad.
Seaside is in my neighborhood but now that I am disabled it is unreachable. So Thank You for the wonderful views as I went there occasionally before my stroke. I like the fresh Ocean air and view.
You have such great scenic locations to choose from in your part of the country, I'm envious. A far cry from the endless corn and bean fields here in the MidWest section where I live.
Thank you for the great drone footage of very beautiful scenery. I also found the placards very interesting and informative. What a beautiful place to fly a drone.
