Is it allowed to constanly crash to other car like Shanahan was doing in his chase? For me looked like Heinonen was better and drove cleaner in this pair.
I was thinking the same and i think in the long term this kinda driving is bad for the sport. Soon this sport is gonna be full on like a demolition derby 👎
Usually, contact is allowed but hitting it isn't since it would affect the lead car, cars like this are design for contact, Connor went high risk high reward on chase
in DMEC, if you can touch the door without disturbing the lead, it is awarded some more points. if you hit them hard and lead car spin because of that, then it is a disqualification for the chase car. so no, it will not be a demolition derby, and cleaner non-contact run can be "less brave" compared to leaving a tire mark on the opponent's door
Connor shouldn't have even gone to the final, that OMT call was BS and he strained out his wheel and went opposite drift as well, and even the final battle. They just gave it to him because he won the championship, Lauri definitely outperformed him
Watch the runs a couple of times they made the right call. Korpu made to many little mistakes. Very late throttle on Outside zone 1 (1st run ). leaves early in outside zone 1 not as deep in the wall .off line in inner clip 1 shallow on inner clip 2 multiple times. leaves outside zone 2 early in chase and leads not as deep as connor. Less angle chasing not as deep to the wall less proximity chasing . Between outside zone 5 and 6 big mistake very little angle chasing not as deep in the wall. And i wanted korpulinski to win so bad 😉

Connor hitting Heinonen and the wall witch affected his angle and line. Lauri makes no mistakes=Connor wins. what a joke. That Irish hype is real in dmec whole season.
What a load of bs....overall proximity from te start gave connor the win if lauri had the same proximity he would have won because of the wall hit. This has always been the case in Dmec...oh no wait the shannahans saved up for 14 years to buy a championship cmon guys 😅 lauri drove like a madman and im very happy he got 2nd place.
@@mrfinch6664 connor has good proximity but he didnt match the angle at all like Lauri did. Allso hittin Lauri. Judges was clear on that Chase car must match lead angle. So again irish has different rules like it has been whole season.
@@Jakedelus sure connor is not that deep in the beginning of outside zone 2 all the rest is just killer chasing. Lauri gets a few taps but damn when was this ever illegal in drifting?? They can always matt field it 🤣If lauri had a little bit less angle and more speed chasing it would have been a different outcome this is always the hard part for the drivers.
