This is random but my mom recently read The Afterlife of Holly Chase based off of your recommendation (she follows you on goodreads 😂) and she totally loved it! So thanks!!
Dear Emma, thank you for a booktastic 2018, that's when I discovered your wonderful channels. Your work on both channels has done so much for me. I've taken time to care for my mental health and better undertand myself. And on top of that you've helped me rediscover my love for the written word. Your enthusiasm is contagious and I've loved every one of your recs. My brother got me Renegades and Archenemies for christmas and I have you to thank for that 😉😂 cannot wait to dive into that world. All the best and so many blessings for a glorious 2019. Keep doing you! You rock! Much love from Germany. 🤗
YAASSSSS I love book hauls! I love that it's something that you'll continue to do in 2019! That and please reading vlogs. And Cassandra Clare related things. I love you Emma! 💖
I GOT MY FIRST BOOKSHELF FOR CHRISTMAS, because I literally buy all of your recommendations and reviews I love you Emma, you make books seem so fun and interesting so thank you for inspiring me to read actively this year 💕💕💕😇
I'm eagerly anticipating your Queen of Air and Darkness review! I read and enjoyed Heretics Anonymous after you raved about it, so I'm interested to read Katie Henry's next book.
I recently just purchased Renegades and I'm so excited to start it! I also just bought the Lord of Shadows paperback edition and literally could not stop staring at it when I was filming my book haul because it is that GORGEOUS! I cannot wait for them to release the QOAAD paperback edition so I can add it to my collection.
Meeting Cassandra Clare was one of the best things that happened to me this past year, which was one of the worst years of my life, but Cassie was so sweet and it was literally perfect! And I have my first ever signed book by her that's also personalized! Love you Emma!
I just discovered your channel but I love how much you love Cassie Clare's books :D The love for them is so evident. I've only read TMI but I own so many more of her works and CLEARLY I need to start reading them ^.^ Enjoy all of your new books :)
You’re so welcome, Emma! I hope you love Darius as much as I do. I just finished Queen of Air and Darkness, so obviously I gotta go watch your reading vlog. 😍
I am always so intrigued to see what new Cassie books you collect! Once I move out into my own apartment, I plan on collecting different editions of her books as well (because I worship the ground she walks on lol) so it makes me so excited whenever I see you collect them! Currently rereading LOS because I got QOAAD for Christmas! Yay! So excited to read it!
Loved this video! I didnt know the 2nd city of bones graphic novel had come out already! I noticed that while you were talking about AVLEOS it sounded like you pronounced Shirin as Shivin or something but in the book we learn through Shirin telling Ocean how her name is pronounced that it is more pronounced like Sheereen. I dont know if this is the fault of the audiobook narrator or if you just got the name wrong, but i thought i would just let you know! :) glad you loved the book! I just read it and also really loved it!
I’d honestly love you to do a guide to upcoming Cassie Clare books-I’m in the middle of Lord of Shadows and I’d love a rundown of what/who each new series is about, their release dates, etc.
I’m so happy that I took your recommendation to read Nevermoor in October because it was fresh in my brain. Then I read the Wundersmith this month, and it is my favorite book of the year! I get lost in the beautiful story and the characters, and I love the discussion between something that you are unable to control and how to make your own destiny with who Morrigan is. 💞
I’m in love with your shelves! 😍 I think I’m going to be ordering A Very Large Expanse Of Sea very soon, now that I’ve heard you and a few other Booktubers mention it.
I want to know what the deleted scene was! Also I have less than 100 pages of Wundersmith left. I got Nevermoor for Christmas this year, AND I'M OBSESSED
Trinhsformerz is pretty good! Southeast Asian BookTuber here from the Philippines. Also tagged as an Aklatuber. :) I like the new covers of the Mortal Instruments world series (includes Mortal Instruments, Infernal Devices, Dark Artifices). I hope I get to read a series of hers soon! Thanks for sharing Finding Yvonne. Have a fruitful 2019 ahead!
Loved this haul. Just wanted to note Hijab is pronounced with a short a sound such as in c A t so Hijab if that makes sense. I hope you enjoy A Very Large Expansive Sea and Happy New Years!
Girl why are you so beautiful? It is so totally unfair! Also, I want those graphic novels so bad! That looks like such a fun way to read the mortal instruments.
I listened to Nevermoor and Wundersmith and the audiobooks are amazing and the story is phenomenal!! Waiting for the audiobook to come out in the US was torture. I know Nevermoor was bought as a trilogy but we have to follow Morrigan throughout her time as a junior scholar if not as a senior scholar right? I just want all the books.
I've been seeing Darius the Great is Not Okay at the bookstore and I keep meaning to get it but I just always end up putting it back! I can't wait to see what you think of it, maybe I will finally get it...
I got the Arch-Enemies B&N Exclusive Edition, too, but I managed to snag an autographed copy! I also got City of Ghosts and LOVED it (though I felt like it could have been a bit longer despite being a middle grade novel). Plus, I won a Goodreads giveaway for a thriller, but it'll be a bit before it gets here I think.
Nice video!!! So in love with the Lord of Shadows paperback :') yesterday I received a Stele necklace from my parabatai for my birthday and I'm so excited with it, I take it everywhere I go
I want to read nevermoor because everyone who has, all say wonderful things. Especially as I am looking to get more into MG, since I love that genre but do not read that often in it, so I think that would be a great book to start with. And I have become total renegades trash after hearing about it from your channel hahaaa. well done xoxoxo
Yay I am early!! Also, this probably will be the last video of the year, so Happy New Year, Emma! I wish you an great 2019. And Happy New year for the community too

I've been meaning to try the TMI graphic novels, but I wasn't sure if they were any good... I guess I'll have to try them out now!
For Christmas I got the Throne Of Glass boxset, which I’m sooooo happy with :). And for my birthday which is the week before Christmas I got One Enchanted Evening by Anton Du Beke, who’s a ballroom dancer. It tells he story of a dancer, I believe.
Oh man I was luck to get that Barns and Nobles Arch Enemies because I was at one Nov 3 and they had it out (Three days before it was suppose to be released) and was able to get it. If it wasn't for that I would have ended up ordering it online and missed out on that deleted scene!
Hi Emma! You mentioned that you had already listened to A Very Large Expanse of Sea. I was just curious if you often buy the physical book of an audiobook you’d already listened to. Over the last two years, I’ve become an avid audiobook listener. I’ve listened to so many great audiobooks, but I never buy the physical book after I’ve listened to it. I’ve thought about buying some of the best I’ve listened to so I can have them on my shelves. Just wondering what other audiobook lovers do!
Also, you should read Austin Chant’s books! He writes novellas, I think. I recently ordered Peter Darling, which is about Peter Pan who is transgender and they have a romance with Captain Hook. His books often feature trans main characters and I’ve heard that they are amazing.
The books I got for xmas are: Muse of nightmares by laini taylor, Otherearth by jason segel, furybron by claire legrand, sea witch by sara heenhing, queen of air and darkness by cassandra clare. Swing by kwame alexander, Grim lovelies by megan sheppard, one of us is lying by karen m. Mcmanus, dry by neal shusterman. The hate u give by angie thomas (Collector's edition) And last but not least I recieved amber & Dusk in my december owlcrate!(:
i got 3 books for Christmas XD 1. Queen of Air and Darkness (cannot wait to read it), 2. Fantastic Beasts: Crimes of Grindlewald Screen Play, 3. Magisterium: The Golden Tower!!
Hi Emma! Love your videos! Just wanted to say that "This Lie Will Kill You" sounds kinda like a rip-off of "And Then There Were None" by Agatha Christie. At least based on the premise that you told sounds almost exactly like the story in that book from Agatha Christie. You should check it out. It's really good. She's the Queen of Thrillers!
A friend of mine got me the first TMI Volume and I love it!:3 And I still have trouble sleeping because of QOAAD because I need to think about everything that happened:D
I just finished a very large expanse of sea and I enjoyed it but it feels like it was lacking a little bit, I don't know where but i am just not entirely satisfied.
theres another edition of the tales of beedle the bard illustrated by Chris Riddell which is so much better (i am biased though because i love his illustrations in neil gaimans novels)
The one book that I got for christmas (my family have a weird thing about getting me books idk) was James Acasters Classic Scrapes he's my favourite comedian and has a netflix speical he's just so funny... only my sister ordered it late so it hasn't come yet 😭 I also just finished Dry by the Shustermans and really enjoyed the way it's written and how real it is and doesn't shy away from how awful humans can be
Yes I did slow down which I'm proud of myself for! I used to buy 20 books a month and this month I bought 8 - I'm working on making better choices on what books I decide to buy, so having 13 books this month really pleases me :)
